Bianca Round 2 - Soil & Perlite - MH300 LED - General Hydroponics Nutes

She's got a really good root base to support grow, especially with all the top growth you've cut back. You still need top growth to create energy for continued growth so don't go too crazy. (I have yet to learn myself how much is too much crazy :) ) I can see you're having a lot more fun with this now. Good to see her taking off.

Day 42 - She's one resilient lady. :)

Day 45 - 3rd topping! Those 4 future colas were growing well enough I decided to make her into an 8 cola plant. She's so short and stout that I may be screwing up as the stems aren't long at all. I may have a hard time LST'ing her as a result. We shall see. :) I also pruned off the original fan leaves that were nute deficient as they were no longer getting any light. On a side note, the fan leaves this time around seem a lot bigger and broader to me.

1 gallon water with 1 tsp of CaliMagic (I'm going full suggested strength this time) and 1/2 tsp (1/2 strength) of FloraGrow & FloraMicro.

The leaves look droopy only because I was pushing down on the stems just prior to taking the pics. :)

Wow! up to 8 already. Don't worry, as stems grow you'll have no trouble spreading them, just a little leaf congestion in the middle at first. You can thin those out after stems have grown a little.:goodjob:

Already? Do you think I'm rushing it with the topping? And I assume it's 8 colas based on the newest growth I see. The congestion is due to the stems not growing out enough which could be me rushing it or it's simply this go around the leaves are much broader than my first grow. I went back and looked at my first grow to confirm the size difference. It's almost like a different strain to my eyes. :)

It's not necessarily rushing things to top this early. I'd call it a training style choice. It saves vertical space for the colas to develop. It does stress the plant to top repeatedly but strong ones recover quickly, and she's clearly strong enough now. However, you are on the extreme edge here.+reps for that!

I would let her grow at least 3 more nodes and then you can start playing with LST to your heart's content. :)

She's going pedal to the metal now. Those eight future colas grew noticeably overnight and I may have to trim some fan leaves but I'll wait until tomorrow before I make that call.

-- patience! -- :)

That's a good idea. If you top to 16 you'll end up with floppy branches that won't hold those massive buds I know your gonna get.

I had to trim a few of the larger middle leaves for two reasons. 1 - there was moisture developing between the leaves and I don't want mold. 2 - It was getting too crowded and blocking light on some of the future colas.

Day 50 - To think I considered bailing on this grow has really showed me just how resilient these plants can be. Looks like I'll be surpassing my previous veg time with this girl but given the amount of topping and pruning she endured, I'm not at all surprised. And the fan leaves this go around continue to amaze me. The indica dominance compared to my first grow is astounding.

Day 56 - These two main stems are just too short for me to try tying them down. I may have messed up on the topping as I've produced two rows of 4 main colas each and they sit really close to one another making me worry about air flow, mold, yadda-yadda. As a result I decided to prune some fan leaves from the area between the rows. Tomorrow she'll get a big drink with some nutes. Looks like super cropping is out for this grow. Oh well. Maybe next time. :)

Day 57 - Watered 1 gal with 1.5 tsp's GH FloraGrow, 1 tsp CaliMagic & 1/2 tsp GH FloraMicro. No runoff, which surprised me.

Day 59 - Defoliated a few of the bigger fan leaves underneath and a couple middle ones that were laying on top of other leaves. She's loving the nutes I'm giving her so far and I was half tempted to throw her into 12/12 but decided I'll wait. I want to get a few more leaves pruned and get a better feel for how I'm going to LST her for maximum light during flower.
