BendBender's 1st Grow!

Lookin' great....I'm catching a buzz just looking at it....(and hitting the pipe too.LOL)

Your set up looks good also....I see you have your air pump down low....not for nothing, but you should have higher than your tubs...

if the pump should fail with it down low like that it could siphon your whole res onto the floor..

just an FYI...can't wait to see the harvest pics...:rasta:

Nice bud porn there Bender. And red hairs are always a good thing :)

We usually try to time the switch to clear, pH balanced, water so that they are flushing for about 7 to 10 days before harvest. It's hard to judge sometimes. If you start seeing amber tris then you will want to switch right away and it could mean you should have switched by then...see what I mean by it's hard to judge?

so the tris are the small hairs on the bud not the longer ones(like flower pistles) that you can easily see without a magnifier right? (the "pistle" like things are whats red on a couple of my buds, the hairs are all white).

7 - 10 days? wow... i thought it was 2 or 3.

I thought you guys used floraliscious on your plants?

Gracias Skoots!

Hey Flouro... thanks for the idea... thats a good one. Ya it is funny the lengths we go to for grow space.

I like having them in the house a lot more than the motorhome.... the temps are fairly cool in there (even though i insulated it). Once I get up to speed with all my card holders that thing should be pretty warm.

I built a kind of valve into one of the roof vents so i can switch my light and room ventilators to recirculate or exhaust the air out depending on the temp needs. So far I have got up to about 65 so I may disconnect the intake of the light so it is just pulling interior air.... that should heat it up in there pretty well.

Thanks Flouro.

Yup Slappy.... Its above. my camera field of view is really shitty... actually the 1000 w ballast is under it trying to burn down the motorhome.

thanks buuuuuuuuuddy

cool.....

sounds like you got yourself a "rollin lab"...*LOL

Sorry for the late reply Bender. Ya the tris are the ones you see with the magnifier. The stem and the little ball on top of each one. They say the optimal time to harvest is when ~50% of the tris are amber in color (going from cloudy, to clear, to amber).

Ya we try to do a flush for 7 days at least. We go so long because by the time harvest rolls around the plant(s) slow down their intake of water so we want to be sure they have time to take up the clear stuff. (more clown logic...take it for what it's worth :) )

Skoots - Thanks for the info! Can I take some of the Colas before others or should I flush them and harvest all of them at once?

My Humidity is very high in the flowering room... about 60 - 70 % (measured from a low spot in the room) the reservoirs are kind of cold too, about 60 degrees.... Having problems with the large grow room in the back of the motor home. Ive been keeping a heater in there but it wont go about 65 (again measured low in the room) but it is warmer up high where the buds are.

A few leaves on the marshmallows are turning yellow and the buds are big. Ill get in there tonight and do some close up work on the tris and spock em out real good.

Supernova - thanks buddy..... been very stressful since I moved them into the motorhome. Im keeping my fingers crossed.

On another note... i fearfully opened my electric bill and it didnt go up last month (it more than doubled when i started the grow but the AC was on a lot in the grow room). So thats good news.

Im not too sure how the heating and cooling is going to fly in the Motorhome.... The insulation is much less than i anticipated (or I just fucked it up and didnt seal things enough). I put in a divider between the front and back of the MH. The windows in the front of the MH are COVERED in water from the humidity... i mean literally dripping wet... I just toweled them off today and had a good enough day weather wise to seal a leak in the front windshield. grrrrr. I hope it dries up in there... making me nervous.

Thanks again for the comments guys..

OK Got some closeups pics of the tris....

they look clear to me under a loupe..... opinions are welcome

Here are 3 of the White Rhinos.....

And 2 of the MArshmallow... Of which Im going to finally sample tonight

I got a pretty good look at them under my loupe and they did actually look clear or at least sort of white.

thanks for the opinions guys...

Unreal, Bendy!

As for your motorhome, why not add a few kWh to your massive electricity bill? It's already huge. Put a few used space heaters (try kijiji or craigslist for a $10-15 one) hooked up to thermo's. I found a cheap thermo unit and just hardwired it into the power cord. Set the setting to, say, 70º. They usually have decent little fans to circulate that heat, too.

Next, get one or two used dehumidifiers, and install a drainage line. You can run the line right outside if you want, and they'll run up to 24/7, depending on your RH. Again - 99% of them have RH meters, so they turn off once RH hits whatever you want it to be.

I think those two little devices would be both cheap and super effective at bringing your motorhome into equilibrium. You've already got an AC unit for the summer months, I assume? The only thing you wouldn't be able to control is a way of raising your humidity. But that's also a cheap fix.

Best of luck to you Bend!

Ya Im going to get a dehumidifier tomorrow. I wiped down the moisture on the windows and walls yesterday and today it was all back.... friggin nightmare. I think part of the problem is I went to a higher output air pump for the reservoirs and i think they are pushing out a lot more humidity into the grow rooms which is getting recirced out into the motorhome.

I definitely didnt account for the problems with a limited space and winter. Summer should be OK but the AC will be going like crazy with all those lights in there.

The individual rooms are not staying at the temps like I hoped they would even though I have fans in them... Im going to have to install some kind of fans that force air from the non-grow areas into the individual rooms I guess.

Thanks CFL and goon

Who was high? I read this post but by the time I finished reading all the others after it I forgot about your question LOL

Um ya you can take the colas but I suggest beginning the flush first then after a couple of days take the colas and then let the other stuff have all the light for a while. We've never done it that way but I have seen videos and read about others that do it all the time. In fact since we are not at the point where we are in a hurry to build our stash I may be doing that with the Sliders we have going now. Thanks for reminding me :)

Hey bendy...Not sure if you are aware of this or not but dehumidifiers produce a HUGE amount of heat. Just wanted you to know in case you didn't so that you can plan proper placement prior to purchase LOL Ya I'm high!

Oh and clean the walls and windows REAL good after you get that dehumidifier in there. As I'm sure you are aware mold and mildew LOVE moisture and heat and you can bet that while you can't see it yet it's there if you had that much water on your walls etc. Best to be safe than sorry.

I suggest oxy clean! works GREAT!

hey buuuuuuddy. Havent pulled em yet... tris are still milky.

Ive been sampling the 3 strains.... the Kush is pretty good but i like all 3.

Just added the third grow room in the rolling pot farm. got the second generation rhinos to start their flowering.

the humidity is under control now... thank god. that humidifier pulls about 2 gallons of water a day out of that motorhome. pretty amazing to think that was all on the walls and windows before. Still battling the cold nights and keeping the inside warm but the extra light should help a lot.

I ran a hose and 220 (to a breaker box inside the MH) so its nice to not have 9 extension cords all strung out in the yard. the hose is hooked up to a valve in my shower so i can fill the reservoirs up with nice tepid water and not have to drag a hose through the house.

Im gonna spock out your journals.

thanks skoots

I'm glad to hear all is well in bendy-world. I like hearin' about others gettin' high on their own supply!

One day when you get a chance ya gotta give us a pic of the outside of the MH. It sounds like something we would all like to see.

Rock on brother...rock on! :)
