Been around alot, but none I grown my self

I don't know much, but this site is helping everyday I read it.
I have started way early and need help. I think I may lose them,
but if there is something that someone can say to help me, that
would be SWEET!

First I would like to say thank you for having me. I have been
420 friendly for just about 20 years. I have pain and this is the
only thing that helps me. I don't want to take pills cause then I
will get addicted, because all of my sisters are now and I know
I would. I don't drink cause I am the DD(Designated driver) and
everyone loves how I can drive. I don't want to pay for buds
any more! I want my own I can call my babies... I have good
ideas and have already started, but I know there is stuff I am
doing or not doing. That is why I am now asking and searching
for help. I will add to this often as I see changes in my babies.

These seeds are from a long time ago. I would say 5-7 years old.
They were kept in a zip lock bag and then put in a pill container.
They are from a bag I got of some very dank stuff. Not to sure
what kind, but I know I was only getting the goods at the time.
Not sure what soil I am using, but I do know there was another
flower(the flower was one that you could squeeze and it would
look like a mouth opening and closing. Hope you understand? lol)
in the soil and I removed it before planting. I am pretty sure its
ok soil. I have 3 lights. One is 100w and the others are 75w. The
room I have them in is pretty small, but I will be making it bigger
for when I get more going. 20inches right to left. 16inches deep
and 3 feet tall. This is to start out and grow a bit, before moved.
I have the timer on 18-6 and when the lights turn on is at 12am.
I am watering them when the lights turn on and in the middle of
the 18 hours. Not sure how much to water? I think I'm doing OK?
The water I am using right now, is rain water. I filled up to bottles!

I just put this together really fast, so bare with me. I will be
upgrading and taking advise from you! Please let me know what
you think and don't hold back. I want to do my best the first time!!!

Here we go:

What I have done so far... The first few pics are the grow room.
I did make this pretty fast, but will be upgrading it as I go...

I know the light was to low in those pics. I have moved them down.

Now to the plants. I planted 4 in this one pot(4 out of the best 7 seeds I
had). I will be updating with pics on how things are going. This is so fun!!!

Here are some pics of my babies. There is 2 kinds. Not sure what, but they
look good already. Made someone can tell me what kind they are?...

First one that started to grow was only under the soil for 2 days and then
she(I hope) looked like this.

2010-05-27

3 days later she looked like this.

2010-05-30_18_57_59.jpg

Then I found out about 7 days later there was another one growing next to
my first one.

Then 5 days later, I can tell its another kind of plant.

Here's Kaylie(What I call her) on the same day I found out I had 2 kinds of
plants.

2010-06-12_03_16_04.jpg

I am calling her Lately. This is 1 week old.

This is her next to her sister and with a dime to show how big.

These next few are from today. They both look to be growing more and more
leaves. So I am pretty sure I am doing something right? Lmao...

Would someone guess why my leafs are curling? I think it might have been the
light being to low. I have moved the light up to a level where I think might be
the best, but I will just wait and see...

So please let me know what you think? Thank you for having me here!!!

Re: Been around alot, but none I grown my self...

Forgot to add that the temp is at 28-31c at all times. I have no need for a heater
cause the room I keep them in cools off and heats up, just like its suppose to. It
always stays a good temp. Not sure what the pH is, because I have a very cheap
Lowes brand and I don't think the pH part of it works. Here is a pic of the pH, Light
and Moist detector.

One other thing, it wouldn't let me Edit my last post, so sorry for double post!

Please don't hold back on your questions, comments or what ever... I need help
and will try anything at this point. Just hope its not to late...?

Re: Been around alot, but none I grown my self...

Anyone have any suggestions? Is it to early to know? Its just Kaylie is curling so
bad and she doesn't look like she is doing good. I would like someone to look at
her and tell me what you think I should do or not do? I don't think I am over
watering, but might be under watering. I did have the light down a bit to low. I
have fixed that. I guess I will just wait a few more days/weeks and see if things
get better. I just wanted someone to take a look and tell me what they think?

Thanks!!!

Re: Been around alot, but none I grown my self...

I have a couple more pics. The first 2 pics are the grow room. I fixed the light so I think
my babies will be OK.

2010-06-24_12_28_51.jpg

These are my babies. Kaylie doesn't seem to be growing very well, but I think
she was stressed out. She is still curled. Not sure what that means.

2010-06-24_12_29_18.jpg

Lately is coming along very nicely. She doesn't look to stressed out. She did
have some curl, but because I moved the light up more, I think she will be OK.

2010-06-24_12_29_12.jpg

I was also wondering if there was a way to tell what kind I have? I know it might
be to early to know right now, but is there a way to tell what kind?

So please, if someone could reply and just let me know something? Anything?

Please tell me what you think about my babies and what you think I should be
doing better?

I think I need a bit of help and don't want to ask my friends. I don't want anyone
knowing that I have them. So please let me know what you think?

Thanks!

Re: Been around alot, but none I grown my self...

Here is the potting of my little ones... I also got a new one from a friend, but she doesn't
look to good. Hope things will work out, cause I am sad right about now... If there is any
question, please ask and I will try to tell you what I have already done. Thanks!

Forgot to say that when I re-potted them, I gave them nutes and lots of water! FFoF
nutes!!! Hope it helps???? ....

This is the new one... Hope she will be ok? I helped out with some wire to help her
stand. I think she may come out of it, but its only been 14 hours since I re-potted!

Any help is appreciated!!! Thank you 420!!!

Re: Been around alot, but none I grown my self...

the smaller ones look over fed imo, nutes make it easier for the leaves to burn when they are small. the bigger one just looks like its gonna die, i havnt seen anythin like it :(

Re: Been around alot, but none I grown my self...

looks like not enough water that was given to often. let the pot get light before watering, then make sure you water enough to get some decent runoff.

Has the soil been used? if so theres probably not much nutes left in it. (and maybe some pathogens?)

rain water is sometimes very acid/alkaline and may need some ph correction if its really off.

Re: Been around alot, but none I grown my self...

Thank you for your reply. I have setup a water schedule of .60L(600ml) every other day(or when the soil is dry 2 inches on the top). I will keep on this and see how it works. I just checked them today and the big girl looks like she is dieing, but the other 2 look like there growing. I will keep you updated with the progress. This is my first time and you are entitled a Flop on your first time. I have learned alot in the past month or 2 reading these forums and will continue to succeed! Thank you guys, for the help!

-xkjtx

P.S. Can someone tell me if they have ever used "Thirsty Light"? I watched a video and it blinks when the plant needs water... I think I am going to buy one and try it out!...

Re: Been around alot, but none I grown my self...

I think you really need to read the sticky's, get a book and read that also before you do anything else.

There is a bit more to it than sticking a seed in dirt and adding water.

Not trying to be mean, just blunt. If those seedlings survive, I'd buy a lotto ticket, they look that bad.

Do some reading and research, then get the things you need and try it again when you are a little bit more prepared to grow.

Good Luck!

Those little things wouldn't need .6L in a week, much less every other day!!! Waaaay overwatered!!!!

Buy a decent grow book instead and learn to water by the weight of the pot. Blinky lights are not needed.

Re: Been around alot, but none I grown my self...

Well, I think the transplant went well. The little ones are taking it good!
I will upload pictures later. The big one how ever, is not looking to good. She is
still green, but I think she was over shocked on the re-potting. I will keep it up
cause these are the only ones I have. This was just a fast first time. I have read
alot of the stickies, and they are giving me good info. I have a bookmark to go
straight to how-grow-marijuana-everything-you-need-know. I just wanted to
let you guys see my first flop. lmao... I will be so much better next time...
Just need more seeds...

-xkjtx

Here are the pictures.

This is the big one that I think is dieing or dead already. The leaves kinda feel like they are drying out, but I watered pretty good and gave a little
nutes. I will give it a few more days to see what happens.
2010-07-01_23_48_18.jpg

Now, this is Kaylie and she perked up after the transplant and nutes!!!
2010-07-01_23_48_28.jpg

This one is Lately and she perked up as well! The green is like glow in the dark!
2010-07-01_23_48_44.jpg

Update July 3rd...

Well, the re-potting and nutes have proven to save my first 2 plants.

Kaylie(what I call her), is really dark green from the stem out the middle
of each leaf.
2010-07-03_12_47_27.jpg

Lately, is really florescent light green on the top. The first leaves got nute
deprived. I am not for sure what will happen, but they both are pretty and
alive!!!
2010-07-03_12_49_05.jpg

The one I got from a friend, that was already in really bad shape, looks
like it has died...?

Please tell me what you think I should do? The leaves are green close
to the middle where the stem is and on each of the leaves, but I felt one
of the leaves and it feels really dry. Like it would crumble. Now, that is only
on the outer rim of the leaf. The middle of the leaf seems to have life still...
So let me know if you think its dead or just slowly dieing? I don't want to
feed a plant if its not going to make it...

Thanks!

Well, GrowingGirls, I saved the little ones because I transplanted and gave them nutes.
The seeds that made these little ones are about 7-8 years old. I had them in a zip lock
bag and then in a pill bottle, so they would be safe. I had 7 all together and there was only
2 that survived. They are really growing now! Check these new pics out.

They are only one day older, but look healthier every day!!!

This is Kaylie, she looks so much better and bigger then she did a couple of weeks ago.

This is Lately. She is also getting better. She is starting to grow more leaves!!! I am
going to do my best with these little ones and keep you updated.

GrowingGirls, you also say I am using to much water? Would you please tell me how much you think I should use?
I have 1 gallon pots and have been watering them every other day. Please let me know how much in (ML). I have a spry bottle and it is 28 onces or 835Ml. Thank you for all the help 420!!! You guys have saved my little ones!!!

Forgot to add that the big one I got from a friend has died. I pulled it. I will be getting a smaller one
and I will post pics when I get it re-potted.

Look man, I don't mean to be mean, nor do I pretend to be anything close to what could be called an expert, but you did not "save" them by transplanting and giving them nutes. They are still very small and not entirely healthy, even though there's been healthier new growth.

What happened is you got lucky, and you aren't out of the woods yet. They may look better now, but you've got a pretty good chance of ending up with nute burn later.

Regarding my comment that you are overwatering...I think it's more a problem with the frequency than the amount. I can't tell you exactly how much to water your plants. As previously suggested, you need to do more reading/research.

I hope they work out for you. If they pull through, I'd love to watch the progress. Good luck!

Yes, I understand that they will have issues, but I love them to much now to get rid of them. I believe I will be able to save them and get things rolling. They look 20 times better then they did and they are growing alot faster each day. I know they are small, but I am loving them and I think thats why they are getting better... Thanks for all the help. I will read alot more...

GrowingGirl, please tell me what you think and don't hold back! I am a big boy and can take just about anything you can throw at me. I came here for help, and I am getting it with every post and with everytime I read on this site. So NO, you are not being mean, you are just telling it to me straight!! I love it! Keep doing it and I should be alright!

-xkjtx

EDIT: I just read some more and also posted in your journal about Lemon Juice! This will help the water to be at the right pH. I thought I had a broken pH meter, but it works great when you know what to put in the water so that it has the right pH. If you would tell me your suggestion on what the pH level should be for my plants? I am still new to this, but I am a fast learner and will try to make things as best as I can. A little help from you guys would make things alot faster. I am not a fast reader, but I do know how to read. lmao... I can type about 55 words per min. So any help is very much appreciated!!! THANKS!!!

hey man i will make a very frugal list that would put you in working order. The lights you have are def not going to produce very well. ill post it tomorrow for ya.
