Bean Genie Autos - Carcass - SIP grow

Day 1:

That’s right today marks day 1 after being in the media for about 72 hours and she is just breaking the surface!

So now I need to look into what training works best for autos! I know Shed mentioned something in his perpetual about topping at the very first sign of flower. In the past I topped between nodes 4 and 5 as soon as 5 was developed but I had ZERO rhyme or reason LOL.

What say you auto growers, when and why do you top or alt training methods do you use?
Cool you are right behind my little one.

Up potted at 9-10 days pretty typical of you are going to..

Yes I tend to cut it right when I see pistils THOUGH I can do it before that. 9/10 times I don’t even have that option, pistils come while I’m waiting then I start thinking about Quad/Hex and everything else.
But I did recently cut a BTF before pistils came, it’s a vigorous grower I’m going to use for breeding purposes and I like that it’s full of life so early.
Glad the first one popped for you!

Well..... I'd have to be a bona fide a-hole to not follow this one!

Mind if I sit in?

So now I need to look into what training works best for autos!
I used to top them above node 4 whenever it had enough stem to snip - but these last 2, I've topped above node 5,
(which has coincided with first pistils) to hopefully get ten branches to train- it worked on the last one, but on this one, iirc, half of node 1 was a dud (as it is a lot of the time) so I have 9 to train on this one..
Just wondering if I can make a “triline” out of another plant LOL
I've made a few of those!

Glad to have you and thanks for the input. I should re read some of your auto journals and see what you’ve done.

I was thinking of doing quad on it but wasn’t sure how that would work with an auto.

Autos are great for quadlining..occasionally, there'll be one that doesn't
like it, but for the most part they do fine..

Just top em at the right time, and a week or so later you'll have some branches to train...
A true quadline is just 4 branches, but I always try to get a few more by leaving the bottom nodes on- sometimes they do great, sometimes they're duds- doesn't hurt to try though..

Well that’s that then! A quading we will go!

I’m the same and started doing quads but most times now I get those bottom branches growing well and do a hexline

6 branches instead of 4
So nodes 3,4 and 5? Same process as quad? Nodes 1 and 2 go bye bye and top above node 5 or is the whole thing moved down by 1 node so that still topping above node 4?

This was 2,3,4. It depends how big your plant is when you decide to top it.

Sounds like it will be fun. So a Hexing we will go LOL!!

:dude-knocking:

I was traveling thru and saw this thread, thought I’d pop in
Nice thread going here……
I usually run 4 nodes, depending on what #2 looks like will determine 2 thru 5 or 3 thru 6 I start as soon as
node 6 or 7 appears.
Everyone has their own spin on how they do it, all with great results too ! No wrong answers here

Happy Holidays

Day 2:

Was up barfing it up all night long. Someday update is simply a picture.

I know how to zoom in on my phone and I'm a boomer!

Hope you're done worshipping the porcelain god. :thumb:
I was so out of it that I didn’t even see her

Day 3:
I gave her a spritzing of water today and moved her more into the light as she was bending towards it. I was keeping her in the corner as to not toast her with the lights. Seems she is ok with them so into her section of the tent she goes.

Hopefully she is a little more visible in this picture haha still a wee lil thing she is
