yes! its extremely similar. it soaks up water a lot easier than the pro-mix. less wood fragments too. From the look of it that's pretty similar to Promix HP.
I've never used it, but it's pretty common. It doesn't really have any nutrients.
hey Mel, ya think i could mix whats left of this bag with straight coco coir? i aint ever used the coir before, however, it looks like those who do dont have any complaints. From the look of it that's pretty similar to Promix HP.

I wouldn't mix them, personally, but @Trala has recently transplanted soil into straight coco without any issues so far. Maybe she'll have some insight.hey Mel, ya think i could mix whats left of this bag with straight coco coir? i aint ever used the coir before, however, it looks like those who do dont have any complaints.
i just started using Sunshine #4 this winter & its technically soilless it's straight peat moss & considered a passive hydroponics if using synthetic nutes & considered the next best thing to coco coir, as for your calmag i can't help you there i don't use it but you're using pellets for feed & know nothing about italright, im walking like a cripple, my knees swolled up, dunno why, blaming the weather..lol
which makes for the more of why i gotta grow a giant baby, cuz then i can make a one if a kind walking stick for my aging-ness. im just so freakin grateful that we dont live as long as the people in the early years...could you imagine being 900 yrs old!? me either! AND expected to stay sin free and then some?? wowsers!!
anyhow completely off topic there my apologies, just thinking out loud again.
i got questions and i need answers.
alright, took me 20 minutes to figure out that 2 scoops of ⅛ tsp. measures out a whole ¼ tsp. (do NOT trust my stoner math) i retained a high 'I' in math class...had better things to learn while napping apparently.
oh back to my illusive questions..
first off, im pretty sure my Grow tabs from royal queen seeds lacks cal/mag. and the soil doesnt have actual amendments listed anywhere, just says
and i can't help but notice the sure signs of something...and im gonna take a gander that it has something to do with the new stuff lacking other important stuff thats usually found in complete soil mixes like fox farm/happy frog. as well as complete fertilizers made for seedlings and vegging.
i forgot to add the booster pellets when i was mixing the soil up.
think i should add this? like kinda finger it into the top layer of what i got growin on?
then i was given some lotus nutrients, just the cal/mag, and the feeding schedule suggests it gets started once a week(?) when feeding. a lot if me is leaning towards just adding the cal/mag to the water and seeing what happens. as long as i dont overdo it its good right??
so from what im gathering while writing this post is most of everything has magnesium in the ingredients, except for the grow tabs. someone needs to write a book for dummies on this subject!
anyhoo. last night i felt like the younger group was kinda sorta lacking growth since i took out the blurples. so i added them back! and i promise they loved it! woke up to new leaves and happy faces! little stinky babies
please please give me your advice and show me the way, not for my sake but for theirs.
....think i should poke a few breather holes for these ones in the milk jugs?
also, is it better to have the DLI a little higher or a little lower when you got two different aged seedlings? ive been mothering as best as i know how when it comes to comforting and security and making sure everyone gets the right amount of attention.
alright! im taking the chance and going with the little voice in my head and gut, and im poking a tiny few pellets into the auto groups soil. idk what the measurement is on that so ill "less is more" prioritize. and add ¼ cal/mag to the gallon of water and hope it all goes well as well can go.
I run 100% coco. Reach out if you ever have questions.the ideal for the photos is the left overs of the sunshine mix, into this heffer block of coconut coir. the brick turns into a mass of 18 gallons. i got it all waiting in the monster pot.
my luck ill grow a walking stick thats just as unwalkable as possible..lolol
