its been since halloween. my last grow caught something thats whole focus was death, and it did its job well. wasnt sure what caused the sudden sickness that spread through the crop, it was worse than powdery mildew, nothing worked. the plants turned a funky pale gray color all over everywhere fast, as well as crispy leaves, the buds felt mushy. you could smell it when you entered the room. the sickness. so everything got tossed into the fire pit. Lights got bleached and anything that was kept was disinfected.

gunpowder gang and the suckass sickness. spider mites didnt help either.
i got the power of neem oil this time!!

Fingers crossed! new soil, new bags, new basement luxury grow space to dwell in.
Life is good.

the seedlings have all received a dixie cup (16 fl. oz.) of the easy grow. its one tablet per 1 to 2 gallons of water. the jug contents stay good for 10 days. one feeding from the jug every 7 days. aint ever used it prior, took advantage of black friday deals, this nutrient line is from Royal Queen Seeds.

Sorry to hear about the grow woes from the last crop. Always sucks when shit gets sideways on us. I think we all need a little reset from time to time.
:high-five:
Looks like you've got it all dialed in for another successful run. Can't wait to see the show. 🤙

Sending positive vibes from TX.

I can help when it comes to spidermites!

Happy New Year everybody!! i was surprised i actually stayed awake til midnight last night, gave my hubby a kiss and slept like a rock.
:smokin:

Todays update isn't really anything, ive been comparing two light meter apps against each other, comparing their results side by side. they're for the most part similar. im dumb as a doorknob when it comes to the lux stuff (the word lux sends me into a parallel mind set where i think of big words and scifi fantasize about 'lux compositor readings are off the chart!' im kinda a big kid and i still play with dolls lol), so i just keep on the simple side with Day Light Intervals.

Having 2 groups with fairly same and yet different needs; ive rigged one of the blurple lights back over the smaller photo babies, which they definitely approved with some new growth and happy leaves. The DLI is right at 16 ish, i add a little throughout the week. so that by the 2nd week we are at the 20 mark.
which brings us to the autos, which the DLI is now at a whole whopping 21 ish!
i did not soak my soil before adding the babies when transplanting the other day. i usually water the soil good and let it drain a bit then add, or i add the plant then soak the soil and let it drain. not this round! im just applying 16 fl.oz. of water to each as needed. the 1 gal pots get less cuz they aint exactly proper containers and i didnt put holes in em. my plan is to let the photos root like crazy before transferring them to tall 5 gal pots. however, i got this giant planter that looks like a barrel, im so gay for it lol. idk how many gallons it is, so im gonna pick a lucky girl to host it. and show me what a Big Baby really is!!! @Bill284 gonna grow a Bill baby!! 💜💜💜

Most my grows were done in the living room, outside, or in the kitchen. I only had one that stunk up the whole room, that was the critical 47 auto.
These little things are already producing a smell! ...and theyre so little!?
wish my armpits could smell this good!!!

I love counting new nodes in the morning!!

Glad you're back, i'll grab a seat if you don't mind

alright, im walking like a cripple, my knees swolled up, dunno why, blaming the weather..lol
which makes for the more of why i gotta grow a giant baby, cuz then i can make a one if a kind walking stick for my aging-ness. im just so freakin grateful that we dont live as long as the people in the early years...could you imagine being 900 yrs old!? me either! AND expected to stay sin free and then some?? wowsers!! 😱

anyhow completely off topic there my apologies, just thinking out loud again. 😉

i got questions and i need answers.
alright, took me 20 minutes to figure out that 2 scoops of ⅛ tsp. measures out a whole ¼ tsp. (do NOT trust my stoner math) i retained a high 'I' in math class...had better things to learn while napping apparently.
:blunt:

oh back to my illusive questions..

first off, im pretty sure my Grow tabs from royal queen seeds lacks cal/mag. and the soil doesnt have actual amendments listed anywhere, just says

17358518151574379976394474983925.jpg
17358519456878482389395334920512.jpg
17358519701591369890913486407786.jpg

and i can't help but notice the sure signs of something...and im gonna take a gander that it has something to do with the new stuff lacking other important stuff thats usually found in complete soil mixes like fox farm/happy frog. as well as complete fertilizers made for seedlings and vegging.
17358522534912303164106384609153.jpg

i forgot to add the booster pellets when i was mixing the soil up.
17358523781142346512721092791697.jpg

think i should add this? like kinda finger it into the top layer of what i got growin on?
then i was given some lotus nutrients, just the cal/mag, and the feeding schedule suggests it gets started once a week(?) when feeding. a lot if me is leaning towards just adding the cal/mag to the water and seeing what happens. as long as i dont overdo it its good right??
17358527895836836790589749782218.jpg

so from what im gathering while writing this post is most of everything has magnesium in the ingredients, except for the grow tabs. someone needs to write a book for dummies on this subject!

anyhoo. last night i felt like the younger group was kinda sorta lacking growth since i took out the blurples. so i added them back! and i promise they loved it! woke up to new leaves and happy faces! little stinky babies ❣️

please please give me your advice and show me the way, not for my sake but for theirs. 🥰

....think i should poke a few breather holes for these ones in the milk jugs?

17358532809811447412687212860823.jpg

also, is it better to have the DLI a little higher or a little lower when you got two different aged seedlings? ive been mothering as best as i know how when it comes to comforting and security and making sure everyone gets the right amount of attention. 🙏

alright! im taking the chance and going with the little voice in my head and gut, and im poking a tiny few pellets into the auto groups soil. idk what the measurement is on that so ill "less is more" prioritize. and add ¼ cal/mag to the gallon of water and hope it all goes well as well can go.
