At this stage, I would only defol fans that are interfering with light penetration. 5-6 leaves won't put a bad hurt on her. Theres a short window to do heavy defol on autos.
If I'm topping/fimming, I do it when they are much younger than the photos I run. Gives them more time in veg to bounce back and gain enough size to produce a bigger yield. After that, I generally just pluck out problematic leaves throughout the grow.
Heavy stress now may shut her down to recover. That's precious time & energy you'll want her putting to them buds instead. Small & perpetual defol works pretty well for me on autos.

But... sometimes, they can just be little sassy-asses and crap out. I've had my butt kicked by more autos than I've successfully grown, but I'm determined to perfect it.
Most times autos crap out, it's not because of the grower. Genetics seem to be all over the map from breeder to breeder. When you get a really good one, it's a safe bet that breeder has a more stable auto collection. I stick with a breeder after I get a good one.

Good to know thanks fellas. I grew some autos before and yeah 3 out of 10 finished, but were kind of hay. I'll remember to ask around for who has had good genetics before I order my next attempt.
Glad to hear you like dave. True fans call him Dave lol. That was my 8th 9th and 10th show all at the Gorge. 2 hours from my house, it's so close and cheap for the overall experience.
 
So I measured my bruce banner and from the roots to the tops shes 35 inches tall, and 25x26 Width and length. That's about 8 inches wider and 4 inches taller than my lemons half way thru flower. So I much be moving her in earlier than I thought. I'm sure she will stretch another 10 inches which would be pushing the light limit with my current co2. Definitely going to try try and scrog it.

Supdate time. Had a shitty kind of day training for a new job I'm doing. Locked my keys in my car on my smoke break, couldn't have my ride find a spare but found it when I got home after searching like a madman and being all sorts of sober and angry. I took a bonghit and almost gave up but looked twice in my spot and found the fob and went to go get her. The fobs batteries didn't die and opened my car but music came on when I opened the door "wierd" so I turn the car key off? I dunno but I start by car and it dies. Tried a few more times and then let her sit for awhile and then she worked and I was able to get home to finally relax!
