B.I.D.'s Mysterious 8.0 Featuring? Come See If You Dare!

I can't even mark this as a "like".....lol don't lead our brothers down the wrong path. You might as well make the shape of that panel a christmas tree...lol

Where you been s1ingblade? Welcome back!
I figured out another thing I have that uses diodes, the new drill and impact set we got. Got a Xmas tree in Jan. For like 90% off and it has diodes and a controller lol

Hold on now Dank. Why do you say he'll be leading us down the wrong path? If he uses the right colors what could go wrong? This question should be one you can answer in detail with your qualifications.

I have no qualifications...I claim nothing..let that be noted. WhenI think of growing in a positive direction with LED tech and advancing the LED grow panle industry. I think about the quality of the diodes, lenses, COB chip, COB reflector lens, the Power Drivers, the PCB, the FANS. These are some things and each one needs its on focus and attention to create a better version than the next. All of these together combined is what creates a better upgraded Panel. That "path" I was referring to was me mentally picture a path from what he said to the end result of a better LED panel which is what I aim for....lol.

I don't think he's trying to create a better one, just a DIY cheaper one.

When are we gonna smoke a bowl D. David?...I'm not too far from you :)

Never thought much about led panels until I started reading this forum. I figured solar and mh/hps was as good as it gets for indoors. I read one guy who made a very high powered panel within par but found it wasn't really the power he needed and had to place it very far away from the plants to get it to even work. Think he was using the new cree leds. The thing I didn't really understand, which I do now kinda, is that led is very narrow in it's spectrum. So to get a full spectrum of light you have to mix. I could see someone finding the correct mix for weed and keeping it under wraps. All you would have to do is take apart the panel though and post the cree part numbers. Get a power supply on ebay to match. You have yourself a panel for a fraction of the cost :)

I originally thought I would build my own panal, for a fraction of the cost. I did the research and cree doesn't make all of the colors necessary for a proper panel. You would have to add bridglux or epistar diodes in there to get the right colors. Also adding that many diodes, drivers and supplies for heat sinks fans etc... You come close to $1100 to DIY a good grow panal for a 4x4 grow room. Also manufacturers get bulk order discounts that we the average customer cannot get. Nobody says that you have to buy these panals, there are many others available out there. But in reality... These IGRO panals are a steal!
