Autopots, 600W LED, Island Sweet Skunk

re: Autopots - 600w LED - Island Sweet Skunk

nice grow, i am interested in the led grows. a bit too pricey for me, but always nice to look at. I like the auto pots also, great idea, def subbed to see how things turn out. thanks for stopping by and hope to see u around some more. :goodjob:

I'm not sure I'm quite convinced completely with LEDs yet either, I'm actually
Investing in some gavita 1000 watt fixtures in the near future, what do you think about those?

hey there salty,

what kind of MG u using, soil or nutes?
Interested in the results here.

HH

Salty was using MG on a previous grow, those are not current pix...

Salty is using Blue Planet Nutrients 3-part Elite I believe... there are so many journals with BPN now, I can't remember them all!!! but I'm pretty sure I am right!!!

It's the moisture cOntrol soil that's suppose to be good for up to 6 months, probably has some slow release nutrients, also using some organic stuff called Alaska for bloom.

I've been flushing the heck out of it lately I can tell I'm getting some salt build up. But honestly I don't see a big difference in MG or OC+, but I really don't know much about either one just that they are both premixed into the soil. MG hasn't been too bad but I have had some problems with lockouts early on and a little bit now as well, I've been using soil acidified here and there to help with the pH, plus the medium isn't all that great, coco/perlite is way better for drainage and O2 on the root zone.

Ya I'm using the three part for the autopot grow and I'm never turning back, also just ordered some bloom boosters from BPN. Im a loyal customer from here on out! You can't beat his prices, for quality nutes.

Astonr420 MG is is for the grow I'm actually doing concurrently with this one, it's just a bit further along than the journal I'm keeping for this thread, just thought I'd throw in some bud porn to keep the crowd entertained. Lol

Thanks for watching guys.

re: Autopots - 600w LED - Island Sweet Skunk

Just got some cool stuff in the mail!

Theyre Gavita Pros 1000 watt complete fixtures with electronic ballast. Also had to purchase a powerbox and do a little rewire in the house so i can run these bad boys, if you guys are in need of more lighting but don't have enough circuits in the house to run them these things will hook into a 30 amp socket, and run up to 7500 watts, i have another on with 120v outlets for my LEDs, i had to get 240v power box to run these Gavitas.

I plan on starting up a journal with these as soon as i get my other grow harvested should be done here in the next couple of weeks or so and if they perform well which i don't doubt they will i plan on getting two more for my room. thanks for watching:)

re: Autopots - 600w LED - Island Sweet Skunk

looking great, i'm about to start my 2nd grow, 1st with coco/perlite. I'm doing hempy buckets with roots organics coco. Your LEDs seem to be doing quite well. I want to try BPN i see so many journals around here and everyone seems to love it.

I can't say enough good things about BPN, its a great product (almost a forum secret), for real cheap if the price stays the same ill be a loyal BPN user until i die!

The LEDs are good but i think they are really pricey and I'm looking to add more lighting, and am not willing to spend what i had already spent again. So I'm changing to HPS

Thanks for stopping by. Coco/perlite in my autopots is also working great, I'm really happy with my auto pot grow.

re: Autopots - 600w LED - Island Sweet Skunk

I love 1000watters, I just don't like the heat. During the summer I can only run 2 of them and thats with a one ton a/c unit (12000btus) and a chiller for max performance. I mostly run 600s these days but I still use 1000watters with certain grows and I am seriously thinking of buying 6 400w hps to replace 4 600s for broader light distribution. I always wondered the difference it would make since its the same wattage. I would like to try leds in a few more years.

Ya these are producing some serious heat, i have 22,000 btus and I'm hoping that will be enough for 4kw during the summer time nights over here. Right now I'm running one with about 2kw of led in the same room (i decided to finish off this grow with the 1kw btw :)) its looking real good and the LED was great for veg. but i keep hearing more and more that ill lose on yield if i go LED so I'm trying out the HPS to finish this one out. When you talk about a chiller are you talking about a res. chiller for your nutes?

re: Autopots - 600w LED - Island Sweet Skunk

So i decided to change it up, i couldn't help it, the kW was just calling my name begging me to fire her up. So i am finish this grow out with the 1000w gavita. I put them under 12.12 on the 12th of month so the 2 week mark is tomorrow.

Im filling the auto pot res. every 4 days or so these things are sucking down water and nutes like crazy, also purchased the bloom booster from blue planet, here are a couple of pictures.

re: Autopots - 600w LED - Island Sweet Skunk

Fuck yeah! I haven't seen any grows with that gavita lamp yet. I'm getting two 600's for my 5x5.

re: Autopots - 600w LED - Island Sweet Skunk

Can I get a shot of how you have the lights hung? What are your impressions so far of the Gavita? Is it noisy like some ballast?

Sorry for so many questions. I just haven't been able to find any consumer product reviews and I've been dying to get my hands on my own.

I can get that shot up to you a little later today, no problemo, its a little weird but it works.

No worries about the questions ive been on a few different fourms myself searching for info on these lamps. I cant notice the ballast making any noises at all, especially with the inlines going at full blast, it doesnt produce too much heat either, in case you didnt know the ballast hangs up next to the light. I think the only reason it might get a little warm is because of the light being right next to it. It doesnt get too hot though just warm to the touch.

Also i had a lot of trouble doing research on these lights as well but i saw one grow, i think it was sponsored but this guy pull 1gpw dry, and i also did some research on the company gavita before investing. They provide a lot of lamps to dutch greenhouses, and theyre working with phillips on these lights so i think that in itself gives them credibility.

Other than that i think the grow is right where it needs to be right now and the lights seem to be working great.
