No problem, as I said it wasn't until I was typing out what was good about my marine cooler DWC that I realized what was wrong with it. She is in a 15 liter bucket now with 3 air stones bubbling all that algae off of her. Then she is going into a clean bucket with fresh nutrients. I had only recent switched to a cooler DWC because the summer heat this year was kicking my butt trying to keep the water cool in 15 liter buckets. With the cooler the temps lock on and stay perfect. This time of year it shouldn't be a problem.Sorry hemi thought you were in soil ... Throw a load of ducktape over the lid I believe it's rather light proof
I have some silver ducting tape that should block it completely and is very reflective as well. I could use the original lid that came with the cooler, but that would raise the height of my netpots so by at least 10 cm. Then I would have to use more water and nutes and would ruin the cooler for any outdoor use. My thought process behind using polystyrene for a lid was that I could have different ones for different purposes. One for growing adult plants, one with smaller holes and netpots for cloning. That kind of thing. Good intentions but almost killed my girl. Amazing how I could hold that polystyrene up to a regular light and see none, but put it in front of a LED and you see this warm pink glow.
