Auto Growers Unite: A Community Thread

so you have started them in cups then transplanted ? I just always do it with my regs so would like to stick to it if I can.

Well actually no, starting the seeds in water for 24-30 ish hours, then into paper towels until they stick out of their shell 1/8-3/8", then into the solo cups, then 1 gallon then 5 gallon fabric pot. My girlfriend did her plants right from when they emerged from the shell into 1 gallon pots and the root balls looked really nice when I transfered them last week into the 5 gallon pots.

The only minor issue I've had is the solo cups and 1 gallon pots are FF Happy Frog and the 5 gallon pots are the FFOF. So....the plants go from being all happy one minute with an excellent root system that has been use to the same nutes for 4 weeks to having a giant pot to search that has "hot" soil. The end up a little cranky for a day or two, a few leaf tip burns (depending on strain) but then they bounce back. Part of the debate is for those 1-2 days the plants are doing anything visible except having some stress, a day or two in the life of an auto is a long time.

Search out the article on here or other places about the roots having too much room and not spending the time to make a proper root ball....a good read but then again weed had been doing really fine outdoors since it was created.

My Blue Teracle 11 days from popping out of the soil !!!!

remember this one ... its now three days since harvest ... and my impatience got the better of me so i went in the dry room and checked for small fluffy larf that was dry enough to grind up and smoke ...

before grinding i did check the flowers out under a magnifier to see what they had to tell me and it was comfirmed to me what i expected the bottom fluff wasnt as ripe as the tops but still i had about 10/90 clear versus milky trichomes, the resin that rubbed of on my finger still had that sweet berry scent she had before harvest , but the buds smelled like hay still, even after the grinder the smell was rather neutral to hay-ish.
Now this also was to be expected as they were only drying for 3 days, in this short time it is impossible to get rid of the hay smell from decaying chlorophyll.

The smoke also didnt give me the aroma that is desired, instead the taste was dominated by chlorophyll and it had a ever so slight scratch in the back of the throat, all as expected ... from they short amount of time passed since harvest ...

Now i hear you think then why the hell did I try it ?! well first it is larf bud and will probably be overdried by the time i get to jar them, second they will be less ripe then the goodness from higher up so no major loss there ...
What i wanted to find out was if my flush worked and what is the potency... well ... the flush worked excellent there was no harshness what so ever and i didnt even had to cough once so by far the smoothest weed ive had ever before.

The high was actually very pleasant, it was a very mellow, relaxed and almost euphoric high, i can definately tell there is some cbd in there from its ruderalis side because of the really happy feel it gave me ... i dont really know how to describe it ... its almost peacefull bliss ... it kept strong for a good 3/4 to an hour and then started to fade slowly.

now i am getting curious how the aroma will evolve in the next days and then also during cure ... today i allready noticed the hay smell started to wane abit compared to last night ... humidity is slowly dropping as the drying process progresses it was at 47% ( rainy and cold outside, in the tent i had 18.5°C) still abit on the high side but it drops about 5% per day and soon we get dryer warmer weather.

Anyway i will bring a new review when i can get more accurate impressions of taste and aromas after the cure ...

peace

That is a great looking bud you've got there.

Once you jar the buds to cure, the residual humidity in the jar will help make sure that no buds are drier than others. That's why, when I have a bag that's got too dry, I pop in a small amount of apple peel and seal it back up. Of course, if you're using boveda ...

Question with your being 11 days in soil why is it so large. Mine is 11 days today and no where near that size.. here is. Picture of it at a week old what am I doing wrong for mines to grow so slow?

Is it the same strain. It could be genetics, it could be just being an auto. I have no autos on the go at them moment but I started adding food grade Aloe to my Liquid Karma and water mix right from germination and my photo plants are better then any I have started.

Yea mine is an auto and no it's not the same. But even so that's a lot of growth for 11 days compared to mine does genetics play that big of a role

Honestly I am doing nothing but feeding PHed hose water I have her under a mars hydro reflector 144 her first week of life was 24/0 then the last 4 days 18/6. You sometimes get fast phenos and slow phenos the last 2 I grew took forever to get 4" tall . I have a Dark Devil Auto that is on day 15 and is small as all hell!!

Could also depend on the strain to. Hope that helps you out a little good luck. You got a lot of stretch going on you might want to bury that stem a 1" or so and get your lights closer. Good luck !!! Live-Love-Learn

Yes it does as well as age of the seed used etc.... For every story on how to achieve fast germinating and fast results, you will here just as many replies being that doesn't work etc.... I recommend jumping to the threads that you are amazed by and seeing what they are doing to germinate etc.... This forum is amazing... Just understand there are still the people that, if you don't do it their way you are wrong.... Learn what works from the people who want you to experiment and are willing to help. This way it's a legitimate mentor helping....

One of the biggest reasons for slow growth in propagation or veg periods is the environment. If humidity is too low growth will slow dramatically. Temperature is also important. Ideal environment is something that cannot be seen when viewing pictures of grows on the Internet and it is often overlooked while what type of light or what brand of nutrients seems to often times take priority. Since the plants need very little light or nutrients in the early stages of growth try looking at your humidity level first. For seedlings a propagation tray with a clear humidity dome that has vents can help a lot.

The reason your growth is slow imho is VPD. My plants are big at 10 days and huge at 20. Trust me. Get the VPD dialed in and your stoma can work wide open. Want big growth? Fix your VPD.

*Drumroll*

My drying fase is officially over and cure started.
I will cure in plastic bag... cause imo cure can be done in any airtight container, placed in any dry dark cool place.... correct me if im wrong.

Some pics of my Blue dream auto...
