Auto Growers Unite: A Community Thread

I agree with pw penny got me on the let them b In flower witch work really well just hate supercroping late in flower cuz there go in to guy the roof

You could also just bend stems over gently and secure.. It will break apical dominance, reduce height, expose more bud sites, and fill in empty spaces in your canopy. You could do this for the first week of stretch, but don’t keep doing it too long, or you won’t get any vertical length to the colas.

Snow's a-melting!

New to this community but I have spent the last few weeks reading this forum and the auto topping thread and have learned a lot. I am a bit different then most of you in that I don’t smoke weed or partake in any of its forms. However my room mate who I have been friends with for almost 30 years and had a son with is a diabetic with a ton of joint issues. The doctors prescribed pain meds but they are doing a lot of damage to his kidneys. He has smoked weed recreationally for years so I decided to do research. That lead to him buying 2 oz a month but on gov checks that is painful. Then I read it was as easy to grow as tomatoes. Well I have been growing tomatoes for over 30 years...how hard could it be? Not as easy as tomatoes. First attempt was last summer, I knew nothing. Three white widow auto flower on the balcony using tomato fert...wonder I didn’t kill the ladies dead..they sort of made it to harvest and we ended up with 30 grams dried.

That lead me to trying indoor with a 600 led in a tiny tent..one wow and one candy cane...a bit better, over 2 oz each.

For Christmas my family gave me a bigger tent and seeds and another 600 led and I am at it again. This time around I am growing 2 white widow, 1 trainwreck, 1 candy cane and 1 amnesia haze all autos all from cks. I will be topping as soon as I am able. I also got the entire line of Emerald Harvest nutrients as a Christmas tip from a client (I own a dog grooming salon) so I will be using it.

Sorry this is so long but I just wanted to say hi to all of you who have unknowingly been teaching this old lady some new tricks.

Highya Corisa,

You are a brave soul! I like your stubbornness. There are a few things for newbies to learn. One is environment. No amount of nutrients will make up for a bad grow space. Another, would be over watering. Emilya has a great tutorial on watering a potted plant. Following nutrient manufacturer's recommendations should get you in the ballpark. Yep, many things to learn. But, after you get a decent harvest, you can relax a little better knowing you have a better handle on growing. Cheers to you. Oh, and a "special lady" distinction growing for your significant other, even when you don't smoke. Have you thought of trying infused oils someday, or rather not even consume? Nice to meet you.

Hi Bode

Yes that is what I am figuring out. I have the tent at 78 degrees and 47 percent humidity now for veg..I can drop the humidity down to 32 percent for flowering...I weigh the plants and use a prong thingy for watering..right now they are 9 days old and taking about 1.5 litres every 3 days. In 3 gallon fabric pots. He isn’t my partner anymore but he was living in a horrible room in a basement so ?I told him to move in and take my spare room. It works well, he looks after things while I work and my growing for him is a way to thank him for being a part of our family. I figure if I grow 5 plants I should harvest enough to keep him from having to buy anything at all. This spring I want to try a mystery seed pack on the balcony for fun..we are on the tenth floor south facing..I have grown everything out there and I won’t let this plant beat me.

I grow outdoors in the ground, so I can't dial in the environment. So I do the best I can, given the circumstances. As with anyone, lol. My significant other doesn't smoke either. On the 10th floor you wouldn't have any shade trees. Might be able to grow some awesome ladies. Never stop learning. Cheers
