I done my 2 plants on the 3rd node that grew.Thanks, when's the best time to top? Pineapple Express is about 9 days from breaking through the soil.
Dont top, but low stress train them and tie down branches and pinch the main calyx. Works best for autos, if they were super autos..then yes id top
I topped both plants I have.. 1 is an auto
No issues at all. Here she is after a week or two...

Hi Mike. I am doing an auto at the moment for the first time and i did look into whether it would make a difference. I have read a few places that it is ok to do but will decrease your yield compared to a 18/6 or 20/4. Im not sure how much though so may still be worth it. .
Yes, these forums are great and I am so glad I found them. I ask the guy at my local hydro shop and he gives no help for autos.. last time I tried asking him, his response was something like "I don't see any point growing autos, so I don't bother to learn about them.." lol.. not much for help. I have my next three grows planned for autos, so I've been trying to learn as much as possible. I wasn't expecting a huge yield this time, as it my first try with autos. But it looks like it may be decent smoke.
So.. going from 20/4 to 12/12 would decrease it that much more then? maybe I should just try to veg the photo until the 2 autos are done? Then let her have the tent to herself to flower under 12/12? I've never tried to veg one that long.
Yes it is getting smaller by the day too... So it seems. I have ordered a bigger tent that will be here Thursday. In a perfect world, I would run 2 tents. But I just don't have the space right now. I will try to veg her until the 2 autos are done. Nirvana says this white widow auto is 11-12 week strain... That will be longest I've ever tried to veg one
Autos do not like transplanting afaik. I transplanted them before but it doesnt change anything after all.
