Hey, would anyone be able to help with a PH question regarding soil grows? I bought a soil PH probe and it always reads that my soil PH is very high, like 7.9 or 8. When I mix nutrients I have to use PH down to be about 5.5-6. But it never seems to change the soil PH at all. Is that normal? Or does it even matter what the soil PH is as long as the nutrient PH is ok?

Pacific - some of those cheap probes don't do a great job at ph accuracy. I have one that I only use to measure moisture. When I had ph issues, I would water until there was run off. Test the ph of the run off with an accurate device or the test sample in a vial method (how I did it).

Are you having a ph problem? I had a few grows where I had to do several flushes. Adding nutrients will typically lower the ph of the soil so being on the high side going in isn't that bad.

You say you can't remember what you had for breakfast I try run my own business weren't for the missus it would all be up in smoke pah haha funny thing is it's landscape and brickwork and the only paperwork I do is rolling a war head that's how I justify my work the missus does the rest #fulltimepotheadforlife

That depends on the strain, how many plants you got, and the size of your house. If you have only a few plants in a medium sized house then it's okay. But if you have 1 plant inside an appartment building then the chance of another person smelling the plant is very high. You do have strains with a really strong smell, you definetly need to look into that if you do a grow outside.

Thanks....I'm indoors I live in the city so there's no outdoors for me. I'm just in my closet with one lady cuz my other turned out to be male. My tent should be here tomorrow or Saturday then all I need is the scrubber and fan controller which shouldn't be long..maybe a week 2 tops. If she starts stinking before then I will invest in a ona bomb to try to help till the scrubber arrives.
Luckily to me all she smells like so far is fresh fresh vegetation

one plant should be fine though. If the smell is really strong then I suggest you do something about it. I don't know much about getting rid of the strong smell though

the airflow in a normal house is pretty good atleast here at my house. The airflow starts at the back door and ends up blowing away out of the ventilation on the attic. And in a normal house it should just be fine to have a few plants but you'll have to just wait and smell what happens

Canno u can not smell it outside mate. Mine is in a tent upstairs.so u cnt smell it if u keep the door shut.but if leave door open does begin to smell.and in heavy flower things really do stink.also strain dependant how strong of smell the weed is;)
