To be fair, I don't really find it that bad only the smell and the fact that there is a big dig hole next to the plant in the pot (and apperently the cat's aim is not that good becausethe actual shit is a few inches next to the hole she dug) And I'm afraid that she will do it again

I have a quick question. I have a hps ballast that's dimmable. It also has a super setting on the dimmer control. Is anyone familiar with that setting. I'm assuming it's a little bit more watts

Hi,

I am new to this website and trying to learn more about auto-flowers so this is perfect for me! I have 2 White Widow autos and 2 AK-47 autos that I planted on 10/30/16. Right now the WW have been flowering for about 3-4 weeks and the AKs are really just starting to flower. I agree that there is tremendous potential to improve with autos.

Questions for other auto-growers:

1. Is there a way to estimate your harvest? Or is it just trial and error?
2. What are your favorite auto-strains and why?
3. Any input on Six Shooter?

Thanks,
PacificPeach

I'm growing a couple of six shooters now. Check The Roost link in my signature.

@ Noodlesp, temp looks good and I read 22-23 c (72.5F) at the canapoy is perfect. HPS lights do give off a bunch of heat, I got rid of the hood on my 2 1000W HPS's and just hang them. Doing this I can put the bottom of the light within 6-8" of the top of the plants and the temperature at plant is 23 C, the temp at the celing is around 25 C. This also allows the light to spread somewhat even throughout the grow room.

Happy growing!

Hi Rifleman, look at the flower times and the maximum yield that the seed seller listed for your strain. E.G. If the seller claims lets say,

Candy Cane CKS – Feminized Auto
Flower: 7 weeks
Effect: Long-lasting body Buzz
THC: Moderate - High
THC%: 17.81% CBD: 0.1%
CBN: 0.4%
Country: Spain
Yield: Up to 200 gr Indoors/100 gr out
Genetics: AK47 X Mango X White Widow

I interpret this to mean that if I am an experienced expert grower the maximum yield for this strain I can get indoors will be Up to 200 grams. In all probability my end result will be muchd less than 200 grams as it is my first grow.

Hope this helps.

I have seen people harvest like 4-5 ounces off of a single plant (autos included) just depend how you grow them along with the strain.

Just like alot of threads will say not to top an auto...but you can absolutely top them

I know and as I'm new I didn't relise the great stretch they have to the size of my tent lol now the light is at the max height so was worried the more they grow the more they are likely to get burnt but know I've found my feet and the reads I've been doing I think it's safe to say after this one ill be getting the 1000w diamondback goliath light and go from there just gave another defol and already starting to looking much better

The average harvest of my last nine autos has been 202g. A low of 45g, high of 367g, single plant weights.

Hi,

My WW Auto had reached my light and I was worried. I ended up bending the branch over at a 90 degree angle and holding it in place with twine and it seemed to do great. I am not sure what this technique is called (??) but I had to do something. The stem was kind of woody, not flexible, so it probably was not the ideal time to do this. I see a lot of people talking about pruning techniques - is there a link that outlines this that you would recommend?

It's supercropping. I just had to do the same thing to the two autoultimates I'm growing. Both stretched right up into the light at over 52 inches each. Now one looks like it will have a crown of buds. :)

Be sure to wrap that bend with a piece of tape as a bandage. It looks like you went pretty far down, so it might bleed some.
