Auto Fun At Ganjagrandaddies

Man i love growing hate harvesting love smoking. The great balance of life lol.
So true. Trim jail is a killer. I am waiting on a bowl trimmer now after swearing i would never use anything but scissors. Been a long time resisiting ( decades!!) So bit the bullet as I harvest every 4/5 weeks with the autos. Will see if it's any good finally.

Hi all , here we are at day 53 for the next to harvest ladies.
I wanted to show how the Dragon force has boosted the final part of the cycle and why I still use it . i have used a lot of stuff over the time i have been growing and I can honestly say it kicks ass like this every grow. When normally folks go with the bro-science of starvation/flushing !! , I use this as a booster to hit them with everything they need to put out new flowers and swell again instead of starting to stress her out with a panicked "end is nigh" auxin switch and dying leaves. What better way to demonstrate it than good old bud porn ???

Please wipe any dribble from chins before leaving as rumours about what goes on in here are already circulating !!!. Be well growmies.

Day 56 and looking sexy for the ladies in the house. The viparspectra xs1500 has really given some excellent penetration like "Dirk Diggler" and created some mean looking colas on the Northern lights and the Grandaddys mimosa has some fist size lumps covering g her stout frame too. Well impressive.
The Gorilla cookies are close to their finish now with some beautiful coloured buds scattered all over. I did find some bud rot in 1 of the mains which gutted me but I took it out and moved a fan into place. I mat have to employ the dehumidifier now the weather has turned cooler with more vapour around too.
No more supplements will be used but I will be still adding 6g of Megacrop until harvest. I think they will go another week judging by the second pistil burst too so let's see.
Be well.

Haha Dirk, cue the music, break out the crusty couch, maybe some shag carpet.

Looking spectacular Holmes
Thanks dusty. Gorilla cookoes due to go into the dark today for 24hrs. They look so ready now. Roll on dried diamonds. Lol. Thanks for the positives.

Update on the actual harvest of the mimosa/exotic? finally. Lol.
I have been frustrated to have not had the time to finish the trimming of these girls so left them safely in a cardboard box curing and drying to completion.

Having spent decades with scissors in hand and doing some lengthy trim-jail sentences my stoner side gave up and bought a trimmer !!!. Not ever having used one but watched lots of videos that seemed to say they dont destroy the hard work we put in , I bit the bullet and coughed up £110 for a used one at 24" . Seeing all the dried and leafy buds in that box, even after managing to trim some of it , had me excited to get on with it and do away with the dread that follows a great grow cycle !!! . I have seen wet trims with the trimmers but could not find any on dry trimming so I tried not too put the really small dried bits in as they would easily go through the grid under pressure of the rubber fingers the machine uses to roll the buds around. So e of the bigger ones I left on the thinner stalks and I filled the whole surface of the trimmer. As this was already dried , I thought less rotations of the handle would be safer than the advised 15 to 30 turns !!. I started cranking that big beast up and watched as it tumbled the buds and sliced away all the poking out bits that fell into the slots. After about 5 turns it was blatantly obvious I had stepped into another dimension as I looked at the remaining "nugs" !!!!!! .

The trimmer has kicked the living crap out of that perfectly dried and cured weed , I salvaged what I could and finished the rest with the old fashioned method of trim-jail for my weed crime and also had a bowl full of mangled bud bits and leaf/stem that weighed in at 40g !!! The salvaged gave me 5.25oz ( 140g) of what looks below my usual standard but is just as smokable thankfully .

I am due to take the 2 Gorilla cookies down today for their dark periods so I will get to try the trimmer out the proper way intended in another few days. The others will be about a week before fully ripened and ready so I will get to see if it is any good before the others are finished at least. Fingers crossed.
Lesson learned by pain and suffering here. Lol
Be lucky folks.

So that’s no to a trimming machine aye?

My human trim boy survives another day :)
I wouldnt say no to trimming with it , just not dried and curing buds. I thought it was a risk with the brittleness but the thought of a rushed scissors trim solo this time had me trying it anyway. Ooops. Lol. They do work well on fresh down plants so I will be trying it tomorrow on the Gorilla cookies. They were taken out for their 48hr dark period yesterday ans looked ready. I wont be able to dry my usual method of no cuts till finished either so I hope it wont fuck the terps up too much and the chemical change process. Time will tell.
Just scored a new Mars light too so have ideas for how best to use that bad boy. Fc3000 whichbisbsame wattage as the sp3000 I use already but a different array altogether. Should be fun. Watch this space !!. Lol seems to be a busy time coming and now on solo Dad during daytime when Mrs GG is working/studying , I expect time to become even more strained. !!! Timing is everything. Heehee. Need to get back to photoperiods too. I miss the yields and training so badly now.

A quick update on proceedings in the house. The 2 Gorilla cookies have been in the dark for 24 hours so far and will remain there until tomorrow evening when I harvest them with the bowl trimmer !!. I have a hanging net to dry them all in but it will feel so wrong to be removing all the buds before i have even had them hanging. I am a firm believer in the low and slow process with no cuts so this really is a step outside my comfort zone for quality end product. I am looking forward to seeing how it trims them up though to be honest and to save so much time i no longer have is a must . Lol
I took delivery of a new Mars Hydro fc3000 to yesterday and am considering ways to use it to full advantage. I have been building a living soil base planter from the NFT tank that will take 3-4 plant at most and could see this being perfect to have in conjunction with it and some side space next to them for younger upcoming plants etc... I still have a new Mae's tent to put to use too so this could also resolve my yearning to get back to photoperiods and fun training with bulking yields. I am happy with the results from the auto fun inhave been having but so think that photoperiods have a definite potency advantage to their auto counterparts , there I said it !!!! . Lol
I could still run an auto tent with an sp3000 perfectly sized for it and have the fc3000 /tsl2000/sp250 and the viparspectra xs1500 for an array in the photoperiods. Size of the tent would mean a re-jig and working it all into a very limited space. Lots to think about and also how i sell the higher leccy use to mrs GG.
Be well and soon be a few pics of the harvest and trimmer affair !!!.

Hi anyone still alive in here .lol
A quick update on the Zamnesia run just started
All 5 girls are really getting busy now and the l.s.t is starting to shape the plants nicely. I have gone with a couple of different training methods just for the fun and so I can see how they develop to harvest. For clarity :
At Day 25 from seedling now.z g v f
#1 Girl scout cookies has her 5th node bent over to develop 5 mains as I took out the first 2 growing nodes earlier on.
#2 Girl Scout cookies is also trained this way but suffered a split so is repairing still but not an issue.
Critical cheese is already proving her indica lankinness and has been topped and also bent over at her 4th double nodes with a stem clip. I will remove the clip before it gets engulfed by the growing stem and hopefully it will keep her main stretch manageable with the smaller strains .
Amnesia haze #1 has been fimmed and is now gaining a nice crown appearance as hoped for. Looks like i clipped her just right . She is looking nice and bushy with growing tips too so could be a nice big cabbage looking bud machine at her finish.
#2 Amnesia haze had her rectangular appearance altered now with a topping as she did look like she could be a wide noded pheno and needs managing to a canopy with her more squat sisters. She is less productive on the growing tips too so I expect her to need managing to get the best from her.
#3 Amnesia haze is a more natural looking growth plant and i intend to strip her down of leaves for a defol session soon.
I am not adding any feed at present but will be treating them all to some of the ecothrive products to boost some soil life back into the game. Top dresses with ecothrive charge , eco-life and a tea of biosys will hopefully boost them just as flowering makes itself known. Time to prep the 100L bed too . New project imminent!!!!

I am due to trim the Gorilla cookies later tonight so expect some horror show pics!!!!!!
Be safe and sane growmies

I’ve been really good, staying super busy with work and home renovations. Haven’t grown anything this summer. Took it off to focus on the house, and work. I had recently quit smoking cigarettes. I’m on day 12 with no cigs. Feeling pretty good about my self, and that accomplishment. I’ve got a long ways to go till I’m in the clear, but so far so good..
had a tough morning, lost POTM by one vote, but it is what it is, and I’m happy for furcifur. Maybe next time.

Im loving you’re plants, got some beautiful photos!! Nice gurthy colas!!
Talk to you later man!! Have a great day!!

Wow 1 vote. I was happy with a nomination. Lol with the competition what it is ,that was a good result. Cigs are the worse mate good luck , I am way too weak willed and use the weed as a crutch for tobacco use a little too tbh. Would live to quit them. My soul is with your quest mate. Very inspiring. Thank you.
I have enjoyed some nice auto harvests but do need the potency and huge colas of photoperiods again now. I am about to run some fast buds autos in this new fc3000 light and then hope to go back to the bigger plants and more training options. Will be using the last 18hr run to get a long veg on some hopefully. Tag me in if you get another on please
