Arteekay's Second Grow - Autos & Feminized - Mixed Strains

(I screwed up yesterday, bumped the ages by two days by mistake)

April 25 (Monday) Update.

Autos: Revolver 2 is 53 days old, Dark devil 2 is 42, Lemon Skunk is 38, and Candy Cane 3 is 13. Temp peaked at 87 today with RH at 41% during lights on. They are on an 18/6 schedule and are 22-24 inches from their lights. Overnight temps were 69 and 64%.

Photos: Crown Royale is 117 days old (67 days since her flip to 12/12) and Purple Kush is 20. CR is 11-15 inches below the Spider x4, Temp is 82 and RH is 43% at the canopy, 82 and 50% at the top, 70 and 59% overnight. PK is working on her four new tops as of tonight.

Nothing today for watering, which means tomorrow is going to be a busy night, very well may be every one.

Our Purple Kush photoperiod was topped again at the third node, and the shoots from the first node up were removed. We'll leave the second node's branches to run directly perpendicular to the sides of the scrog, and the four tops will run towards the corners.

That's the plan at least. :)

Our third Candy Cane auto was topped at the third node, as is becoming our "usual", and our first Sweet Seeds Red Poison only needed a day in wet paper towel to get more of a tap root than I usually like, so she found a home in our now standard 5 gallon fabric pot.

C3 (11.4 lbs, down from 13 after watering yesterday):

PK (8.2 lbs, down from 8.8 yesterday) Topped again three nodes up on her only two branches:

LS (13.4 lbs, down from 17.6 yesterday):

D2 (16.4 lbs, down from 20.2 after watering yesterday):

R2 (19.2 lbs, down from 23.6 yesterday):

Hopefully the next one to sprout in two or three days, hopefully:

April 26 (Tuesday) Update.

Autos: Revolver 2 is 54 days old, Dark devil 2 is 43, Lemon Skunk is 39, and Candy Cane 3 is 14. Temp peaked at 85 today with RH at 46% during lights on. They are on an 18/6 schedule and are 22-24 inches from their lights. Overnight temps were 69 and 52%.

Photos: Crown Royale is 118 days old (68 days since her flip to 12/12) and Purple Kush is 21. CR is 11-15 inches below the Spider x4, Temp is 83 and RH is 45% at the canopy, 82 and 49% at the top, 70 and 57% overnight. PK is working on her four new tops from yesterday, all seem to be alive at least. Whew.

  • CR got flushed with weak bloom nutes, likely her last (10 liters with 13 each of DNF Bloom A+B) at 377ppm and 5.7 PH
  • LS got soaked with full strength bloom nutes (6 liters with 30 ml each of DNF Bloom A+B, 7 ml of GO CaMg+, and 1.5 g of DNF Bloom Fortifier) at 1000ppm and 5.8 PH

Pretty sure I see a knuckle out of our Red Poison's pot tonight. I'm pretty excited to try another Sweet Seed variety.

C3 (10.4 lbs, down from 11.4 yesterday):

PK (7.4 lbs, down from 8.2 yesterday):

LS (9 lbs down from 13.4 yesterday, 20.6 lbs after watering tonight):

  • D2 was soaked with full strength bloom nutes (6 liters with 30 ml each of DNF Bloom A+B, 7.5 ml of GO CaMg+, and 1.5 g of DNF Bloom Fortifier) at 948ppm and 5.8 PH
  • R2 was soaked with 6 liters of the same water as D2
Our Sweet Seeds Red Poison sprouted today, otherwise it was all maintenance. Training on our third CKS Candy Cane will start up in a few more days, so I've got that to look forward to. She's the healthiest 2 week old we've had in a half dozen plants, so I'm hoping for big things from her. :)

Dang rtk that R2 snuck up on me! How did I not see how massive she was getting until today? Props man that's a heck of a screenless scrog on that one.

I know right? She's a bit terrible looking, really screwed up her nutes (too much in veg, not enough in flower) but she's gonna produce anyway. Revolver was a crowd favorite around here for some reason. One of the lowest THC strains in the CKS auto catalog, yet she messed us all up quite a few times.

I'm hoping for fantastic things from our new Candy Cane, Candi from our first grow was our biggest plant, but she was poorly trained. Our first supercrop though, that was fun. :)

So, when's the big harvest party? Those girls are beautiful. I love the top pic with the purple in the middle. That looks cool. Good job shigs

Perpetual harvests my friend! Our first photoperiod plant, the Crown Royale, will come down next week, likely closer to midweek than the weekend, but any time in there. A week or two after that is the Revolver, then the Dark Devil, and lastly the Lemon Skunk. hopefully by then our third Candy Cane will be a few weeks away, and the Red Poison should finish about the same time as her.

Whoa RTK!!! I knew I'd have a lot of catching up to do but this is gonna take me a while :thedoubletake: had a quick skim and I don't even know what to say really, everything looks amazing, heads galore. Guess I better get reading :bravo:

Welcome back my bud!!! Don't even bother going back and catching up, the fun is just beginning! :)

April 28 (Thursday) Update.

Autos: Revolver 2 is 56 days old, Dark devil 2 is 45, Lemon Skunk is 41, Candy Cane 3 is 16, and Red Poison is 2. Temp peaked at 86 today with RH at 46% during lights on. They are on an 18/6 schedule and are 22-24 inches from their lights. Overnight temps were 69 and 52%.

Photos: Crown Royale is 120 days old (70 days since her flip to 12/12) and Purple Kush is 23. CR is 11-15 inches below the Spider x4, Temp is 84 and RH is 42% at the canopy, 83 and 45% at the top, 71 and 55% overnight. PK is working on her four new tops in the veg tent.

Thankfully just a weight and picture day. Jaybiz is away for the next couple of days, so it's just me, the dog, 2 cats, and 7 girls of all ages. :)

We are also starting a perpetual grow. The only problem is, we can't get the autos to sprout. 2 heavyweight fast and vast seeds made a taproot, then after transplant, they ceased to grow. I don't get it! So frustrating. Anyway, we dropped a different auto strain in water last night. She hasnt split yet, so I'll wait till the taproot is quite healthy before planting.
I know autos aren't supposed to be transplanted, but we were thinking of starting in a solo cup, then when it sprouts and grows a good root system, we will put in a 7 gal pot. As soon as one sprouts, we will start a perpetual grow journal.

Eh, I always transplant my autos. Starting them in 4x4 with rapid rooters makes it ease to water. Solo cup is not ideal but would work. The secret to autos is keeping the roots growing with bene bacteria. Once they stop growing it will start flowering. I am looking to pull close to 200g off my auto AK with one top and no LST.

Cheers

Re: Arteekay's Second Grow - Crop King Autos & Feminized - Mixed Strains

Forgive me for the questions, but what do you mean by 4x4 and rapid rooters? I want to excel at autos so badly, but I get so discouraged when they just die on me.
Ok, the rapid rooters are the pucks. Got it. We have a dome type puck holder that will be here today. We also have a seedling mat for under the dome. Is that a good way to start the sprout?

Your Revolver looks awesome guys, and I love the deep purple in the dark devil. That Crown royal is looking like an awesome yield.

I'm surprised you've kept the lemon skunk so short, isn't it sativa dominant? Anyways guys as always you got some inspirational plants here that I love checking in on. Have a great weekend!

Sorry, 4" x 4" green little square pots. Then up pot them. I'm worried about watering a seedling in a #5 pot. About 5-7 days above ground and into #5. By then there is a good rootball and I'll water normally. RTK and Jbizz are some of a few people that have dialed in seed grows in large pots. I'm not there yet.

Cheers

damn brother they are looking very nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:volcano-smiley:

Busy couple of weeks of harvests coming up. My favorite part! :)

We've been following the Crop King Seeds germination instructions for all our seeds, and if it wasn't for a package of White Widow photoperiods, we'd be at 100% still. 16-18 hours, no more than 24 for sure, in a shot glass of straight tap water, then for a day or two in the paper towel. We were waiting until we had a "good" tap root before planting, but kept getting seed casings and membranes to deal with on the new sprout. Since then we've been planting a half inch or so in after they've developed a visible tap root (not just cracked and showing white) but well before a half inch tap root. 1/8 to a 1/4 is what I'm shooting for.

Have you successfully sprouted photos? Just this one pack maybe?

We did two of our first four in the rapid rooters, saw no real difference between those two and the two we'd planted directly into our Sunshine #4.

I'd suggest starting a journal now, document your germination as well so that the experts here can see what's going on. There's no reason to believe you can't grow autos as well as anyone, so let's see who can figure out what the problem might be.

We came in thinking we had it all under control. It wasn't until we hit about week three or four that the cold cement floor started really affecting the plants. We'd initially planned to do something with the floor, but everything was going well up till then.

Your PK looks awesome. Great pics of the tops! Really helps a new guy out. Great job guys.

I think she's the most affected by the lower PH we've gotten away with for the last half dozen or so plants. She's recovering and really, all the leaves she had right now won't make it two more weeks anyway. She's SCRoG bound by next weekend.

It's a Lemon Skunk auto by Canuk Seeds, a freebie that came with our Dark Devil order. Oddly they claim a 10 week from seed harvest with 1 to 2 ounces per plant as the yield. Even more oddly, she barely has a single 5 fingered leaf, let along any 7. 90% of her fan leaves are only three fingers.

April 29 (Friday) Update.

Autos: Revolver 2 is 57 days old, Dark devil 2 is 46, Lemon Skunk is 42, Candy Cane 3 is 17, and Red Poison is 3. Temp peaked at 84 today with RH at 43% during lights on. They are on an 18/6 schedule and are 22-24 inches from their lights. Overnight temps were 69 and 47%.

Photos: Crown Royale is 121 days old (71 days since her flip to 12/12) and Purple Kush is 24. CR is 11-15 inches below the Spider x4, Temp is 82 and RH is 39% at the canopy, 81 and 40% at the top, 69 and 47 overnight. PK is working on her four new tops in the veg tent.

  • RP got 1 liter of bubbled tap water at 5.8 PH. 300 ml down her stem, 300 ml around the outside edge of the medium, and the rest in her tray.
  • C3 got 2 liters of the same water. 4500 ml down her stem, 600 around the outside couple inches of medium, and the rest in her tray.
  • LS got soaked with full strength bloom nutes, and a bit overdone in the bloom fortifier dammit (6 liters with 30 ml each of DNF Bloom A+B, 8 ml of GO CaMg+, and 1.8 g of DNF Bloom Fortifier) at 947ppm and 5.8 PH
  • D2 got soaked with full strength bloom nutes (6 liters with 30 ml each of DNF Bloom A+B, 7.5 ml of GO CaMg+, and 1.5 g of DNF Bloom Fortifer) at 960ppm and 5.8 PH

Man, I really take Jaybiz's side of the equation for granted now. He's been the mix-master for months and has to down pat. I'm all confused and nervous in there now. :)
