Tried the usual "percussive maintenance" tricks to no avail. Flipping the switch it was clear that beating on it wasn't going to do any good, it didn't have a click left it in, just mushy moving it between on and off positions.

So, I took it down and opened it up:

Thankfully at least I still have the cfl, and they are in veg. I'll be ordering a mars tonight, but not a big one, this experience has definitely shown it's better to have two 400's than one 800.

Having great sponsors is one of the things that makes this forum great! No matter what company makes something it is possible for any brand to have trouble. It's the customer service that makes our sponsors stand above the rest when these things happen.

Sorry for the lack of a response, I'm still under the 50 posts required to PM anyone but staff. I'd thought about artificially boosting my post count so that I could reply, but figured that'd be against the spirit of it if nothing else.

Good news is, the local Canadian company was very responsive and tells me they are shipping out a new switch today. I let them know I need a new wiring harness as well, hopefully that comes as a unit.

Better news was because of it's simple design and construction, I was able to open it up and bypass the switch to give my ladies back the light they seem to so love.

Absolutely agreed. In no way was I thinking that I couldn't have had the exact same thing happen regardless of manufacturer, make or model. I remain very happy with my Twilight Spider x4.

Absolutely agreed. In no way was I thinking that I couldn't have had the exact same thing happen regardless of manufacturer, make or model. I remain very happy with my Twilight Spider x4.

I'm glad to hear Jason's gonna get ya straightened out.
I think you'll really dig the Spider 4 when you get up n going.
I have 3 different LED lights & the Spider 4 is one of my favorites. It's versatile. You can put the 360° lenses for clones, seedlings or to get very close. But, switch them out & you get some pretty intense, quality lighting.

I had to disassemble my entire operation to allow a repair guy into the basement, a ton of work and the girls sat in a room without their proper light for almost a full day. They still hadn't had any water for 8 days, so once I got my tent back up and running they all got a good soaking. Early Miss got her first 1/4 strength feeding as the first four took it well at the same age. The Revolver had it's first full soaking.

They looked sad and I was spent, particularly when I noticed my camera was again dead and it'd be a couple hours to recharge. So they didn't get their usual daily photo op last night.

By this morning before work they were once again praying to the spider. All seems to be going well, almost time to start some leaf tucking.

Nothing to do to the girls today besides some leave tucking, as expected. Lower growth is finally big enough to start holding down the fan leaves.

Although they are all feminized autoflowers, seeing those little white hairs was still awesome!

Nice man, tucking leaves is some good stuff. I am always surprised at how quickly it helps the side branches grow.

really detailed shots man love the camera work and spider is def doing good. im sure if you decide to go with the mars youll love them as well but always like to see how the other panels perform

Expecting to see some results as early as tomorrow on it. I'm of course quite drawn to doing some LST, but so far have resisted and it's getting too late already... thankfully.

I didn't realize you had so much content on YouTube, I didn't make it all the way through all your videos yet. Great work there, looking forward to being caught up.

I actually did pull the trigger on the tent and Mars II 900w on Thursday night I think it was. Ruby wasn't able to say with certainty if it'd come with switches or not, but honestly I'll be likely turning both on and leaving them anyway, at least until I get more complex a setup.

Can't wait to get them in, and crossing my fingers I even get switches! ;-)

I think with this post I'm now at 50 posts finally!

Like any new parent, Sunday nights SUCK. I've been able to stare at the kids any time I want for two full days, and now I gotta go to bed and only peek on 'em quickly before work before having to wait an entire 9 hours to see my little girls again. I know, it's harder on me than them.

Found out tonight that my Mars order is in tomorrow. Wooot! It seems I was mistakenly sent two lights rather than one. I was asked to refuse shipment on one of them, but I think I'll take delivery of the entire shipment and see if either or both have the bloom and gro switches. If I kept only one and it turns out it doesn't have switches, it'll be years before I stop thinking the other one likely did.

Grabbed the usual nightly round of pics:




After taking the nightly pics, I went back in for another round of fan leaf tucking.

Dammit, went a little too hard on one. My first unintentional defoliation.


Some perspective, with a foot. I hear feet are popular around here.


That leaf will hang around for a week before I can bring myself to throw it out.

I may have to frame it!
