Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Strains

Re: Arteekay's First Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Str

i agree with watering the entire pot and letting it dry out, weight seems to be the easyest way to tell once you get used to the difference. and im really glad you didnt end up placing the autos in a solo cup lol they would have ended up tiny more than likley. and finally with sunshine #4 i think you can go 2-3 weeds with not nutes but def want to go with 1/4-1/2 strength nutes for most of veg (nute copanys always seem suggest way to much). i love the grow and how detailed you are with the info man im subb'd for this one for sure

PS: im sure sara will be able to work some magic and brighten that room up :circle-of-love: i love all my mars LED products

Yeah, it was the suggestion of the solo cup that first had me realize the guy didn't understand the auto lifecycle at all, so we cleared out quickly and researched like mad while the girls took their initial water bath.

Thanks for the :circle-of-love: for my girls and journal. It's all very exciting for a first timer.

Re: Arteekay's First Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Str

and i may be able to assist with a suggestion with a Mars LED light, i grow with only there panels. what is the wattage from the wall that the Spyder pulls? usually you want to have a min of 35 watts per square foot and can wont see much of an improvement over 50 Watts sq/ft

Excellent! Would love to pick your brain. Thanks so much arellanobrian!

It's a 200 watt unit, so my trusty calculator tells me that's only 12.5 watts per foot in a 4x4, or I can only flower in 1/4 of my tent. Not gonna cut it. Combine that with the 22 pound capacity this sh*tty DS120 ceiling supports and I need a new tent as well. (Yeah I know I could rig something up, but I'm fine with a new tent and using this one for veggies or vegging, mothering or cloning, etc in the future)..

Hoping to come in under 600-800 Canadian, shipped and delivered while maximizing my options.

dam that weight capacity is really low... i would say that a mars2 900 would work and pulls about 420 watts from the wall along with your 200 watts should do good. or of course you could do the new mars pro light im testing, its about the same wattage and gives you more control of the light intensity so you can have something to customize when your not in bloom or just have seedlings but dont want to shock your plants going between floro's and LED

Re: Arteekay's First Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Str

Not at all happy with my tent, and I'm a little concerned with trying to flower even 4 of these 6 with just the spider.

So, hoping to summon SmokeSara to sell me a Canadian Mars tent and light. Not sure if her being a Sponsor means I can PM her before having 50 posts.

This is so funny to me because this line of thinking is how, in my first grow, my garden went from a closet under the stairs to an entire room in the basement and from one light to two and from 600W to 1000W ... and so on and so on and so on

GOOD LUCK WITH IMPULSE CONTROL!

Looking good, RTK. I foresee some really big ladies coming out of this set up. You went big:thumb:

I have a 300w mars in my tiny tent. Wish I had the space for your set up:goodjob:

Re: Arteekay's First Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Str

Came home to drama tonight. A noticeable lack of pink. My girls were leaning towards the cfl, so the spider had been dead for some number of hours before I got home.

Tried the usual "percussive maintenance" tricks to no avail. Flipping the switch it was clear that beating on it wasn't going to do any good, it didn't have a click left it in, just mushy moving it between on and off positions.

So, I took it down and opened it up:

Thankfully at least I still have the cfl, and they are in veg. I'll be ordering a mars tonight, but not a big one, this experience has definitely shown it's better to have two 400's than one 800.

On a more positive (subjective) note, my girls are starting to smell goooooood. Is it normal for 'em to smell at around 20 days from sprout? I thought I'd have a little more time to get the carbon filter worked out.

Re: Arteekay's First Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Str

I know, better grab that filter soon. Mine is only 2 weeks from sprout today and I can smell her everytime the lights go on! Sucks you have a busted light. At least you can grab another one. :passitleft:

Re: Arteekay's First Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Str

I messaged the twilight forum person for you and sent them a link to this thread. I said you were having electrical issues with your new light. Hope they work it out for you RTK!

Just rtk, it's far easier to type. ;-)

Thanks Shiggity, although I'm not sure Twilight would or could help me. I (somewhat unknowingly) bought from a Canadian company that uses Twilight to manufacture their brand. I emailed them the same pics, and within an hour or two I heard back. New switch is on it's way tomorrow, and I MacGyvered it up to bypass the switch.

Can't say I'm happy of course, it ran for 18 hours a day for two weeks before burning a connector up, but I still like the idea of the mcob design and I'm glad to get it back in running order.

I hadn't noticed until this morning, although it's quite likely I just couldn't discern it from other similar smells. hehehe

Honest opinions, will ONA get me by for any length of time? I don't need it to be perfect, it's usually a little smelly in here...

Re: Arteekay's First Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Str

ONA will mask, carbon will filter. $150 Can 66 filter, $12 connection part with extraction fan will solve your problem.

Very happy to have you overseeing. Thank you!

Didn't actually think it was that big, although it's growing every day. Bahah.

Your girls look gorgeous, arteekay - healthy, happy plants! And, yay, for Crop King!

Subbed in and along for the ride :)

I'm quite smitten with them honestly. Flirty little things. Glad to have a fellow Canadian aboot. EH? :rolleyes3

GOOD LUCK WITH IMPULSE CONTROL!

If I had any luck with impulse control, I likely wouldn't be here talking to you right now. So... here's to a lack of impulse control!!! WOoooOT!

I'd like a pro, but I think I should stay middle of the pack for price and commitment, at least until I get my first grow in to cure. So it's looking like the Mars2 900 is gonna be the ticket, along with their ~4x4x7 tent.

Which brings me to:

ONA will mask, carbon will filter. $150 Can 66 filter, $12 connection part with extraction fan will solve your problem.

With the above tent, I can actually hang a filter in it. I'm convinced, thanks millertm

I had to spend the money to filter too. ONA did not clean the air good enough. Oh well, now I'm good with the Can filter.

Fabreeze plug ins will work until you get the carbon filter up n going.
Too bad about the light. I know that sucks. My Twilight had been running well for about a year now.

Just wasn't expecting it to dank up so soon is all. Tomorrow's project for research and ordering.

As for the light, I'm not really that fussed about it honestly. Just a bad switch that was very easy to bypass until the replacement comes in.

Re: Arteekay's First Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Str

Since the girls had a lazy day, I let them stay up an extra hour and a half. Here's tonight's pictures after I got the spider spinning it's magic.

And a couple of closeups just cause I love 'em so much

Almost watered them, they felt a lot lighter than yesterday, but I actually did the "fill another pot and compare" method and figured they were good for another day or so still. One week tomorrow since the first four got any water. Is that typical for 3 gallon pots?

The little Revolver got 250ml straight water.

Re: Arteekay's First Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Str

And just pulled the switch on a MarsII900w and their 3'11"x3'11" tent. Carbon filter order is for another night.
