Are my plants ok? First time grower: Autoflower

you can toss the soil meter. it won't measure a thing you wanna know about.
grab a hydro ph meter - hanna - blue lab - apera are good brands. there are other cheaper ones, not all are good. i use a decent apera.

you might want to try mega crop as nutrient. the single nutrient version. could probably skip the ph. it's just one thing that you mix to feed from start to finish. gets rid of multiple bottles etc. not hard to learn how to use. it's a dry nute you mix with water.
Ok cool you answered the question I just asked.
so I need a new meter, some cal mag right now and then I can use mega crop nutrient as nutrients. I should be good with that?

Ok cool. So basically I need the cal-mag stat as in right now? The 3 pack of fox farm, I’m assuming is all nutes and so I need all 3 real soon?

yes. you'll want those three bottles plus a bottle of cal-mag to start. if going that route. they are good nutes as well.
if you try the mega crop, you'll need a bag of the mega crop, and some cal-mag just to have handy.

my mega-crop grows don't use any cal mag at all, but i feed from the start as my media is different. if using mega crop, you may need a little cal-mag on it's own at the very beginning, before you start to feed.

edit : btw i'm not so sure about that light. pretty certain you are gonna want to upgrade before the grow is done. it's ok for now.

would also up pot soon.

aren't i just bossy ... :cheesygrinsmiley:
Not at all, it’s called helpful
I have this light “240W Full Spectrum LED Grow Light Full Spectrum” it came with my grow tent kit ( see original post I made for full specs)
I’m going to go look for the mega crop today since that seems like it would be the easiest for my autoflower and find some cal- mag.
Going to my garage to check on plants now, will post updated pics

Updated pics of plants today Friday
Also when I get close to the plant, a hint of smell is there......I hope that’s a good sign
Also posting the seeds I used

Are you talking about the mega crop I listed a pic of below? If so, it’s expensive..... also I don’t see a mega crop single nute

Its actually more likely that Miracle-Gro soil could be hot soil and that very well could be what caused these autoflowers to get stunted.
Autoflowers don't need alot of nutrients in the first month usually as long as you're in good soil.
And there's no telling what exactly stunted them, could be too much water, not enough water, to much nutrients in the soil, too cold, too hot, hell I wouldn't doubt if a loud fart would stunt them.

If you want your best chance to grow an autoflower, I would get a very light, airy, well aerated soil, preferably mix your own from 3 parts sphagnum peat moss, 3 parts good aged compost, and 3 parts good aeration such as Pumice, Rice Hulls and Pre-charged Biochar.
Then add a handful of worm castings on top.
Mix those together thoroughly, get 5 gallon fabric pots put about 3" of soil in pot and then moisten that layer with good water pH'd to 6.4 mixed with yucca extract and aloe vera, repeat this step until pot is full to the brim and evenly moistened top to bottom.
Germinate a seed in 80 degree pure water with no chlorine and a tiny pinch of aloe vera, the seed should crack open in about 12 hours, soon as it cracks and you can just barely see the little white tap root about to emerge you take a tooth pick and make a tiny hole just deep enough to bury top of seed tap root facing down about 1/8th inch.
Put one teaspoon water over seed to water in.
Then water every day, start with about a tablespoon poured in a ring about an inch circle around the seedling, every couple days add an extra tablespoon or little more, and make the circle larger, just keep soil moist and widen the circle every couple days and add just enough water to complete the circle to moisten soil about 3" deep.
Then of course make sure you have enough light, air temp between 75-81, humidity between 60-70% first 3 weeks and you got a good chance for success.

go to the greenleaf nutrients website you can get a free sample to start if you pay for shipping. a lot of nutrient companies do that. that will be enough until you can get a better sized bag.

autos need to be up potted before they get crowded in the cups. if the leaves reach to the sides of the cups it is time or past. autos are a bitch for a newbie, and worse if you jump in with no real plan.

i'd have to look at the specs on the light, but i can frankly see it's crap from here. will be ok for seedling and maybe veg, and a massive disappointment in flower. it's ok though, everyone starts somewhere.

look to @Budget LED , @NextLight , @SmokeSara (mars hydro) for some help. maybe run with this light for now and pull a budget together for the next grow. everyone always polishes their game up over the first few grows. this one might suck, but you'll enjoy, gain experience, and get better.

good post @Nunyabiz - i'm hoping she gets them outta those clear cups and into a decent pot with the fox farm soon. i'd still run these as a first shot for experience.

I will be planting the solo cups plants into fabric pots today in my fox farm ocean forest soil. I also have some cal mag arriving in the morning. Hopefully you saw the pics I posted from today. I will also get the nutrients you suggested too.

omg it's home depot's hydro line lol ... :laughtwo:

yeah. go with for it now, but it's absolute junk.

edit: don't toss it either - be fine for seedlings or growing kitchen herbs and stuff. there's always a use.

no. just the light. and $400 is not a big investment overall. it's a budget system, with returns to be expected. indoor growing can be a fair bit up front, but you reap the benefits multiple times over time. once you have the gear sorted, it becomes real cheap to run.

the single most important thing you will ever invest in is light. and good light costs. there is no way around it. a decent light would be about as much as the system itself for that space.. in US. maybe a touch less. don't fret over it for now.

it's not a bad start. but nothing in that system is top shelf, and that's ok. it doesn't need to be for now.

edit: it's the exact system home depot is selling canada right now. canadian tire is selling a cheap re-branded GH system so they aren't the only ones cashing in on the new interest.

all you need to pull it off is some nutes and a bit better light. maybe a ph meter. you're going the right way.

hello to all, can someone please tell me if these autoflowers will survive

so here’s the deal......

I planted 5 seeds originally in pro plugs
1 seed didn’t make it out at all.
The other 4 were planted originally in miracle grow organic care ( pls don’t shoot, I didn’t know any better)
I ordered fox farm ocean forest
As soon as it arrived which was approx 6 days, I replanted all 4 in fox farm. 3 of them are in solo cup with holes at bottom, the last one is in a 3 gallon fabric pot.
I’m using a hydro crunch tent 2x2 with carbon filter/fan and led lights ( I bought the 600 tent kit)
I’ve kept lights on 24/24
I’ve tapwatered them only, no soil food
I had a day of too of humidity at 26 and temp of 91
I bought a humidifier, tent temp since then has maintained humidity 40-50 /temp of 77-84
Thank you for any and all help
Please scroll down for up to date pics in a better light

These guys have got you covered. Stick with it, read, read, read, and read some more. You'll soon fall in love with the entire process.
Wait a min, are you saying my entire tent kit is trash? Because no one else has said that....if that’s the case I’ve wasted approx $400 ......that’s a no for me.
Ur stuff is fine . U can grow w anything. As long as the seeds are good u will be fine . We all start w cheaper stuff when we upgrade as we get better and feel it's necessary.

Understood- thanks. I originally was just alarmed with the yellow curling leaves on the bottom of the plant. Hopefully the cal-mag coming tomorrow will help
It won't be instant. These things need to work themselves out. Hopefully it's just u overwatered one time or something. It's super important to let em dry out . I know I sound like a broken record but that was my biggest issue when I started
