RQS green gelato. Great smoke, both flavour & high. Yields average. Huge variety in phenos between plants with the bud structure & growth. From small dense indica nugs (done in 8 weeks on flower) to large loose saliva types (11 weeks) with foxtailing :/

Terpines were consistent throughout.. & fuckin nice - minty & sweet

How far along are your girls? I'm dying to cut the huge fan leaves blocking light but I just transplanted to final pots today. I doubt the plants would even notice a few missing but waiting a day or two won't kill me...just feels like it when I see the leaves blocking light to the branches.
I was reading this thread because I am growing Gelato currently and I was thinking the exact same thing as you. I too just transplanted and topped them.

Those huge fan leaves are effectively shading anything under it. Unfortunately, everyone recommends against it. I am very tempted to cut them but I know as soon as this plant goes into my 5x5 tent in a week or so, the more intense light should penetrate the canopy and grow some branches. If I wasn't planning to put them under more powerful light, I would possibly consider cutting a set of those big fan leaves to allow the branches to develop.

I am growing Gelato also. I just transplanted and I had some huge fan leaves on top that were blocking light to the rest of the plant. I know leaves are important but pruning is certainly a necessary dicipline. I whacked a few sets and now things look better.

I ordered Gelato #33 and Baklava (Wedding Cake x Gelato) for my outdoor grow this summer. I'd love to know the difference between Gelato #33 and #41 as they both seem to be the same genetic cross of Thin Mint Cookie & Sunset Sherbet.

I typically plan to germinate 4/28 and transplant outside in 30-gallon fabric pots first week of June.

Will update at that time.

Hey folks.
I’m currently running a ‘Hulklato’, a hulkberry/gelato cross made by @Ganjagrandaddy. He has a variety of gelato crosses and is running a different one.
This is halfway up one of the hulklato’s baseball bats at six weeks from flip, getting funky..

Hey how are you I'm doing an indoor grow off gelato and am now in week 9 so ic you want to know anything specific let me no cool
keep rh under control. dense buds can find mould. It does seem these are very sensitive to environmental issues and can hermie quite easily seen a few now that have done that and as Donkey says , we have crosses of it running now. Its a strain I really fancied stones gutted it threw some pollen on a low down budget. I had to cull it at 3-4 weeks flowering but got some great mixed seeds from it with other barneys classics. I am at about week 4 with a Gorilla zkittelz x blue gelato41 and she is storming on now

Donkey dicks girl has been a joy to watch grow too.it is a clear cross of the two from my memories of how they both grow. The gelato has thick pistils that reminded me of white flames and the Hulkberry had the high leaf but dusty looking buds that hit hard. I thinknthe originalnstrain is a hard hitter so in combo, it should be a knockout. Nice work @DonkeyDick

looking for growers of gelato i will be starting soon and need info on this strain
thanks for any input.....
I am. I am using all natural fertilizers if I don’t eat it they don’t get it. The only problem I had was I was growing Black Berry Kush at the same time. Gelato grows very tall and it started to get yellow leaves due to light stress. I was able to correct it.

Crop King Seeds Gelato - Manifolded

Day 10 of flower here in the North
Just breached 6’ tall
There are only 2 ladies here

What can i expect yield wise (rough estimation)?
I know there are alot of variables here. Main trunk is 1-1/4 “ diameter

I grew Gelato last year. Your plants are about the size ours were, but you've done a better job of topping. We got about 8 - 10 ounces per plant. You'll probably get more.

Poundish+, I'd guess? What makes you say you are in day 10 already? I always figured August 15 was about day 1. I'm at 45 degrees north, and 3700 feet so we get cold nights soon which speeds things up.

I noticed the pistils 10 days ago, hence day 10 of flower. I realize flowering starts before the pistils arrive, but i always from from when they appear. I am at 44° North and a few others in the area have some that are flowering already as well. I guess it all depends on genetics as to when they flower. I was surprised as well as we are still getting 14-15 hrs of light.

Plants will develop pistils while in full blown veg. Indoors, before female seeds, I would keep plants in veg until they showed sex, toss the males, and put ladies in bloom. At 45 degrees north, my indicas finish mid to late October in my greenhouse, and a little earlier when exposed to our very cool nights.
