Any other female growers out there?

Hey Kiki! Welcome to 420Magazine Great looking garden :D how did you go with that big Monday?

Morning CasaG :ciao: Welcome to here. 420Mag rocks - as it seems you already know :) Congrats on taking the leap from lurker to poster!

Do you think you will journal your grows here? A big outdoor garden is always a sight for the soul.

:green_heart:
Omg girl I’m still trimming my plants second week all by myself. I’m not done still got two plants I didn’t pull. I guess I’m a picky trimmer I like the buds to be nice clean cut not too many leaves no crows feet for sure.

Wandering through- never saw this thread before. Just want to say how much I appreciate the female growers I know on the forum and I only wish there were more of you.

All strength to your arms Kiki!!

I tend to leave on all sugary ‘crows feet’. I’m not too fussy about how it looks in the jar ;) and the leaves can protect the buds a bit - (IMHO). They mostly fall off in the jar over time anyway and then get dry sifted for hash. I do appreciate a beautifully trimmed bud tho and will sometimes do a few that way, for the visual delight. I’m sure you’re buds are a sight to see

good luck with the continuing chop chop snip snip!

Thanks for the kind welcome, Amy. I’m not comfortable posting pics, for various reasons, but it was a singing green chorus in the old back yard! One thing that has been difficult in my growing journey is separating relevant information with regard to indoor/outdoor growing issues. The majority of current “common wisdom“ relates to indoor growing—and “Indica” dominant cultivars. (Thank you, prohibition!). There are many fundamental differences when growing NLD sativas outdoors.

Here’s a goofy example: I have been told many times by indoor growers that water droplets on leaves in strong sunlight can/will burn them. Having grown up in the subtropics, where huge storms are followed immediately by blinding sun, I know it’s bollocks—but I’m still wrong.‍♀️ It also suggests a mistrust of the outdoors in general, compared to the relative control of an indoor grow.

I have plenty of variables to deal with—CATERPILLARS ARE EVIL!—but I enjoy being outside and, for the most part, watching the dance of nature. I put praying mantis egg cases all over the yard this year. When I lucked into watching the craziness of one of them hatching, I was able to call a few people over to see. We all giggled like schoolgirls. Now, the adults all cock their heads In interest when I talk to them. They’re the owls of the insect world.

:thumb: totally get it about not posting pics etc.!
Thank you, prohibition!
Exactly, right!

Of course ... this.
mistrust of the outdoors in general
Yes - and that’s probably another whole kettle of fish.

I came from growing outdoors only, to now having a small indoor as well.

Me too - it’s what keeps me going! We have the occasional mantis that we spot, but one of the main predators here are dragonflies. They’re wonderful predators too :)
I love to hear folks tell of gentle connections with critters, big and small. I’m absolutely a lover of insects and other critters

CATERPILLARS ARE EVIL!
Except them of course!! I am lucky not to have encountered the “budworm“ caterpillars here. :dude-knocking:

Every time I post I swear someone assumes I'm a dude. Makes me wonder....is it rare or odd for chicks to grow? Or are the guys just presumptive?

Chime in if you're a proud WOMAN growing her own bud!!!

I'm on year two.... Year one, 6 plants harvested, 1 lost to caterpillars and got 18 ounces. This year I've harvested 5 of my 10 and have almost 32 ounces. So I'm getting better at it!

How about you?
I have only been on this site for 3 days, and I dont know who I am talking to either if its a guy or girl hahaha I try say ladies and gents as much as I can compared to man or bro if I am not sure hahaha

I am called "dude" all the time.
The 'ette suffix can be used in many words to convey this diminutive meaning, while it can also be used in the opposite way, to convey greatness
Ah! I know.....My hair is quite long.......Yer, perhaps if I had the operation.........!
