Amy Gardner Of Eden: Perpetually Organic

Update: Nepal Jam x Kali China - day 53 (+30/19)
:yummy:

It’s been a while since I did a single plant-feature update and since I’m crushing on this NJ x KC it seems a good time. I love the way its leaf surfaces seem like frosted glass - a matte-finish shimmer. Here it is in situ, tucked in to the front of the tent.

This was transplanted from a very small starter pot to a 14L pot a month ago, watered in well at the time and then took 3 full weeks to dry out, just for the record.

I haven’t topped it and have really enjoyed seeing the structure and noticing how well it is stretching. It’s not bushy at all but its branching is vigorous and very strong. Its really interesting to me with its broad leaves and sparseness combined.

I’ve mentioned it’s in the autopot that I am filling manually just to test it and that I’m not sure the soil mix is wicking well enough. That’s something I’ll keep an eye on.

I am also keeping an eye on some other aspects of this soil mix. First I keep wondering if it’s a bit hot - all the plants in undiluted version of it have shown burnt tips. Second - I have twice seen curl down claw like action in the fan leaves about halfway through flower that could also be a sign of hot soil (too much nitrogen). There could be other factors causing this, but before it happens to NJxKC (or doesn’t happen as I of course hope!) I wanted to get some pics in the journal. It is already not quite as upward pointy in the leaves as it was a couple of days ago - but it could just be close to needing water.

Aroma-wise it is pretty sweet and fruity so far with a hint of spiciness and some strong notes of something really familiar that I can’t put my finger on ... :hmmmm: I really hope I like the smoke from this because I’m already looking forward to growing it again wth some topping and training.

The lowest node is the highest of the satellites - I can’t remember if it’s the second or the first node. I will have to check my records - I think i took off the first.

I am also rehearsing to see if the 14Lpot is big enough to finish in so that remains to be seen.

Here we are all tucked back in again.

We have a new generation of kangaroos coming along. It’s an amazing and wonderful experience to watch them get braver and braver as they emerge from the pouches. Eventually they get so big that they have to get out in order to drink the mothers’ milk - an excellent evolution. They hangout in the pouches for a long time while they grow and learn how to eat the grass! :D New gard’ner in the making.

Wishing a wonderful day to all! :ciao:

Gorgeous snaps of the NJ X KC. For the autopots remember - perlite drains but vermiculite retains.

Ah yes - critter pics, very cute little rascal. Everyone knows the hook and loop closure action of Velcro is a copycat of the way hitchhikers or cockleburs cling to clothing fibers. Now if Darwin was right don’t you think she would have a Velcro closure strip on her pouch by now or at least a button or zipper?

I’m kidding folks.... have a great night!

OMG the  response is insufficient for those pictures. I don't even know what the plant looked like I was so wrapped up in the composition and lighting. Oh wait, here's a pic where I can just look at the plant:

Very nice plant!

I’m crushing on this NJ x KC
To me that's New Jersey x Kansas City.

:circle-of-love:

I made my not so lively other get her bum off the couch to look at the kanga pics. She said it was definitely worth it.

:meditate: :yummy:

It’s been weeks since I dipped into the diminishing Bubba Hash jar, speaking of good smells! Gosh almighty it smells amazing. Still chocolate with some piney earthiness in the background and still the thick exotic smells upfront, to which the lovely other had the instintive response “Ooh geranium!”. I don’t know if that’d be the terpene geraniol, but that does appear in cannabis so there’s a good chance, and it has some pretty great medical properties. It can give aromas that are citrusy or rose-like apparently and that mix would account for some of the uniqueness of this Bubba Hash. That’s all pretty speculative of course, but thought-food nonetheless.

I do know that my BubbaH is a super pain med - it’s my good friend this afternoon and the low stock is little bit of a sad thing. I do still have about 400ml of BH infused coconut oil that is the most delicious oil I’ve ever made. I have no helpers at the moment so that’s meant no more infused treats for a while - I’m trying to get in position to have another go at making them myself. It’s in the freezer waiting for me and should keep the BH medicine supply continuing on a bit longer once the bud is gone :nervous-guy: . At this rate I’m going to have to start off next year with a BH and a Panama before I launch in to the new things to try! Get the faves in the jars right upfront!

I also had to get the wife to check out the pics of the roos. I LOVE it.

Now I have Bubba on the list. Thanks Amy.
No problem otter! :laughtwo: It should absolutely be on your list. Be mindful it’s Bubba Hash (not Bubba Kush). It’s a cross, by Ace, of Bubba Kush (the katsubluebird cut) and Hashplant.
I only mention that because others have missed it in the past and thought I was growing the Kush. I plan to do that as well next year!
