Candida CD-1, trayful-o-buds
During flowering the aromas from the Candida are light and subtle but still very
present, especially up close. Something floral, in a freshly tropical way, like lily or maybe frangipani and definitley some passionfruit. I did a lot of smelling
and I always ask trusted visitors to lend their olfactory system to the cause. Often they will name things for me that had been tantalisingly familiar but that I just couldn’t place. As it finished, it developed some subtle dankness and some prominent orangey citrus tones.
It’s dried a little bit faster than the others but the flowers are loose. It’s just into jars a day or so ago and still smells really nice - with a blend of everything I just mentioned above. It was a beautifully delicate plant to grow and the aroma therapy profile is just as delicate and full of character. I left most of the smaller leaves on as this is mostly for oil and they are pretty encrusted
It went into the jars at 60% and is stable there. I’m opening them once or twice a day for about 10 mins. No humidipacks at this point, just hygrometers for monitoring.
I had a toke of it on it’s own one recent morning and will simply quote what I posted elsewhere about that on the day:
and oh what a wonderful day - mood wise
. Quite happy, bordering on mild euphoria at times actually but not in any kind of ‘high’ sense, if that makes sense. And only when i stopped and reflected - if i was doing something i was just happily engaged with it and nicely focused. Occasionally I would become aware of feeling good - and think to myself (or say to the other) wow I’m feeling really good!
I was almost a bit manic by the evening so it has some potency (or it unleashed some). Microdosing will be my approach next time
. I had a pretty good few hits off it that day. Happy pill
It came to 3.4oz dried. That seems little,
but, it is probably around 17-18% CBD so that’s
a lot of CBD!
I am working on a seperate garden wrap-up in the next day or so and will say more about the growing of it and how I plan to do that going forward in that post.
White Widow has had a week in the jars being opened once or twice a day. It took about 6-7 days to dry and I had to remove the odd bit of mould/rot her and there during trimming, which we missed during harvest
. Just keeping a wary eye on it now - cant do much else. It stabilised in the the jars at about 58% and I’m ok with that. I may ad some bovedas to bring it up - but I keep reading “55-62%” for cure so I’m ok at 58%.
It was my Sunday morning wake n bake today
The pineymess has mellowed a bit and there’s more like some spearmint in amongst the still overwhelming mango followed by a strange kind of ‘dencorub’ taste in the exhale (i kid you not!), which isn’t as unpleasant as it sounds
Dencorub is one of those athletes hot rubs that we had when I was a kid. This is like a sweet version of that. That burnt rubber kind of smell it had while i was trimming has faded too, which is nice, but there is still a metallic quality (indicative of myrcene). It’s probably that metallic edge coupled with some kind of menthol element creating that slight sweet ‘Dencorubby’ exhale
Terpene profiles are complex! It’s pretty tasty, I can definitely say that. And a fairly smooth, strong but not overwhelming buzz. It fades fairly quickly to a deep mellowness. I’m fairly whacked fatigue wise today, though, so that may just be me today. It will be interesting to see how much any of that changes over the next couple of weeks of cure.
It weighed in at 6.3oz dry with all little nugs clipped from branches. I’m very happy with that for growing it in a pot.
Critical Mass has been in jars the longest at 3weeks, and is now stable at 62%. It got too dry - but it was also borderline for mold/rot due to how long it went (and it does not have high resistance) so I was not too fussed about the fact that it was 53% when it first stabilised in the jars. I just placed large boveda packs in and over the next 3 days it slowly came up to 62%. I’ve taken the Bovedas out now and it’s holding steady on its own.
I’ve had a couple of tokes of it and despite is overdrying experience the flavour and aroma is quite nice. The passionfruit it had all through flower is still there, in the smell and the taste, and the exhale has a delicious bubblegum hit to it. It’s fairly stoney while at the same time gigglier than the White Widow.
The main purpose for this one is topical oils and dosing oil for pain and sleep and the grow isn’t over until the first batch of oils is run
I have a new topical oil batch process in train right now and there is already a bit over 1/2oz missing from those jars. Those flowers have been decarboxylated and are in the freezer waiting for me to get it together to run it thought the MB2 with my new oil blend. That processing will happen and be documented here in the journal very soon - I’m aiming to get it started today.
