Amy Gardner’s High Brix Dreams

Update Blue Dream #1 Day 127+52(43)

The force is strong with this one...

I pulled another 50+ nanners off yesterday after and while taking all these photos. It’s already bulked up some since th pics the other day and I’m taking it soon, Friday or Saturday, maybe sooner. She is totally gunning to make lady pollen and seeds now so there’s nothing i want there.

High Brix growers all say that the trichomes dont really amber up, so that’s not my marker. I see plenty of cloudy, and here n there a slight amberish yellow - especially through the loupe - which may even constitute the DBHBB equivalent of ambering up ;). Mostly though there is only 1 or 2 new pitstils and most of the others are receded. I’m getting excited about having it to consume in a few weeks - tester nugs dont count really but there’ll be one of those too very soon...

I’m stoked to be getting a nice haul of Blue Dream for Christmas, just what I wanted.

The slight tip burn on sugar leaves is likely to do with the same thing that’s the likely cause of the clawing, too heavy on the worm castings. Must be super heavy because my outdoor grow last year had too much humus and compost in the mix (I know this cause it still does, and that’s after 3 plants grew out in it), and I had no clawing there at all. I’m supposing the worm castings being dry when I got them meant I used waaaaay too much and that combined with the BD maybe being a light feeder in the N department is making it so pronounced... we’ll know more as I grow more in this batch - which has been adjusted a little.

TBH I’m exhausted from this grow - currently the gnats are really getting my spirits down. There is still gnat damage showing up on the Blue Dream (although i haven’t caught any more on the traps). ANd the little buggers are in the outdoor garden, slowing down and stressing out many things, including my seedlings (I’ll update on those soon, just low in energy). I have gnat nix as well now so coming at them from all sides. I’ve ordered more Bti (from Gnatrol this time) and will just have to keep at it to keep them down. Next consideration will be maybe some beneficial nematodes...

Still, very happy overall that I’m growing and even with the gnats wearing me down... I have some lovely ganja to enjoy. PLUS... my new CBD CC dosing oil is great and I think getting more CBD in is doing good things too.

Thanks for visiting! :) See y’all in space...

:Namaste:

with all the gnats and the plucking
:rofl::thumb:

might be trimming hell
Not many leaves left, not much stretch... and I don’t mind trimming ... I do it slowly while it hangs drying, One or two branches a day... so I think it’ll be ok this time around.

I might trim some up for a low and slow tryout tho... :)

Tomorrow...? Or Friday...? Those are my questions :hmmmm:

Just brixed this morning. Needs a drench soon, maybe end of day today. Unless I take it tomorrow - in which case I’d unplug the light after lights out tonight and take it 24hrs after.

Or I water it today and give it a day or 2 before doing 24hours dark period and harvesting. It’s drinking enough that itd be dry enough by then I think (although I’m totally new to the approach so I dunno - is it supposed to be bone dry at harvest?). I guess that’s a q for @Duggan - or anyone else who knows ;)

I'll vote for lights out tonight and take tomorrow but mostly because those nanners scare me. She looks lovely!

:passitleft:
That’s the winner ween!

I’ve been lying here oscillating between options... but doing it tomorrow means I wont need to water it again and that sounds great. So you’re the final kicker :thumb:
:passitleft:

It’s perfect really. I was thinking tomorrow not so good bc its going to be rainy and humid, but no matter actually ... better than super dry the first few days and I can manage humidity inside easier if its just a matter of bringing it down. Plus, I have a visitor coming in about 11days and its best if I don’t have any in the fridge while they’re here so that gives me 10-11 days in the fridge for some low n slo... as a tester.

That means I won’t post until after it’s done... energy management! :) Yippee... finally another harvest. :slide:

ready to try the gnat nix, arrgghhh.:Namaste:
It definitley helps a lot. I think they’re still getting in & out of the small holes in my 1gal pots tho & I’m contemplating getting some kind of mesh to try to cover them o_O. I know Buckshot has used Gnat nix a lot in the past (from searching the forums) and maybe he still does. I’ve been meaning to get to his thread and ask, just haven’t made it there yet. I’ve read some of his older posts about it and he mentioned putting his pots kind of in it so the drainage holes were covered too. The drainage holes on my 1gals come right up the side so I dont think that’ll work, maybe on the bigger pots. I should go pick his brains. I’d be concerned about the soil breathing, or not, but Buck grows some spectacular cannabis so if he says it works i’m not going to dispute it!

Oh - maybe I’ll just tag him and if he sees it, then it’ll save me the visit. @Buckshot317 :ciao:

With all that went on for you the final harvest looks to be a good one. You will like the BD. You for sure want to do some low and slow. 11 days may be a bit tight, but sure you will figure an angle to get it done. Are you going to try and cob a small amount for another tester? Betting you will like that also. Those were the beans from MagicJim?

Harvest time is the best Amy. Beautiful work. I rolled a blue dream bone last night and we had laughing fits here at the otter farm cooking dinner. I've read a fan at soil level keeps gnats from landing. They say they're not good flyers in the wind. I haven't tried it but makes sense to me and I dislike those little B's immensely. :green_heart::peace:

Good morning/night Amy. Well, all your hard work and diligence is paying off and you will harvest some very , very nice top shelf cannabis. As far as the nanners go,...no worries at this point , so don't even concern or bother yourself. Don't give a last drink either...just let her dry up , no harm OK. great job with her....have fun trimming her up . Cheers.

Well, yes... many report nanners on this one. But it’s also insanely popular so it must be great if it can survive in the market. They do say it’s a powerful aphrodisiac so maybe it’s just a highly sex’d up plant! ;) Like I said, it’s force is strong.
