Am I killing my clones? (with picture)

It has TONS of information that'll bring you up to speed, and refresh some things you may have already known, but forgot.

Next, I'm not seeing nute burn, so I wouldn't flush, YET. keep an eye on them though.

Right now, Moving the light is an easy fix, but I would take steps to fix the PH first and foremost.

If your PH is over 7, I would use about 20 ounces of water, PH'ed to 6.0, and evenly, and slowly water that into the plant. After that, no more water for at least 3-5 days.

Ive had the exact issue, pretty identical to yours. Except mine were rooted in a clone dome and transferred into strait FFOF after roots were 2-3 inches. Mine are in solo cups...
With a bad/unreliable ph pen I was feeding them what I thought was 6.4 water. After assuming the ph pen had gone south when it would act weird calibrating it, I bought a quick ph liquid test kit only to find out what I thought was 6.4 water was 7.2-7.4. Combo that with the fresh FFOF and I had the same issues you are having. Slow growth, spiraling leaves and purple stems. Got my ph under control and flushed them a few times. Took about a week+ but the new growth is looking great, no more spiraling leaves, purple stems and im seeing more new growth. I had low humidity, around 25-30%. I bumped that up to 60% and they seem to like it a lot more.

Also, where is your water source? City water? well water?

Make sure your ph is accurate. If you are using city water with chlorine and fluoride and all the other good stuff, let it sit in your water res/open jug for at least a day at room temp, then ph it and feed. Do the same each time. Do not ph the water then let it sit... in one day you can see fluctuations of .5-1. Must ph right before feeding. Letting it sit a day will help take the chlorine out if you have it.

My guess is, at that age without good roots that 1000w is too much for them. You should set yourself up with a out of tent cloning area under cfls, t5 etc... Ive had bad luck cloning under 1000w in FFOF. I don't move them under 1000w until they are well rooted and about 8-10" tall.

Personally, If it were me, that #3 pot is a big step. Your going to see slower growth and soil will stay wet longer. I would go from solo to 1 gallon.... then take it from there wherever you want to go. But the first few pots are important for root growth.

Only reason I had this issue was I bought clones and bring them to my house for a week to treat them for pests before they go to the grow. Left the good ph meter on site and brought a cheap pen with me home. None of these clone/starter issues are present at the grow where humidity is just right, water is RO and ph is accurate.

So basically these pics are at 7 days (as of this post) since I picked up the clones, 6 days in the Hurt Locker.

The good, bad and ugly:

The first 2 pictures are of the healthiest (comparatively speaking) but you can see the tips curling.

Third and fourth pictures show the ones that got hit the hardest - those were directly under the close lighting when I first put them in the tent. Note the leaf deformations and the light/dark greening.

But I tell ya, what you see here looks much better than when things started to go fubar.

Ya know Antics, someone posted that link (terrific info btw) when I introduced myself on the 'introduce yourself' forum. I read it. I also read 'Growing Elite Marijuana' but yet somehow when I started this first grow, that all went out the window. Not sure why. But I'm regrouping and settling down now - I think my plants will too soon.

Even if my pen is not calibrated (haven't done that yet) at least it's -consistently- wrong. i.e. I get repeat numbers for the same samples. I can check the bath water 5 times and get the same 5 readings (within 0.1) and then check my kitchen water, same thing. But they do show (consistently) the same differential. Bath 8.1 and kitchen 6.9.

My water is city provided.

And you mention a cloning tent - I literally just bought a veg tent and going with a LED light and will set that up for veg'ing only. Then use my HID tent exclusively for flowering.

As for the pots, well again I relied on the advice at the hydro shop. They are 3 gallon. He recommended that size specifically for dropping clones (and seeds) into from start to finish. I also tossed in two 3 gallon SmartPots just for grins.
