It's a little late for this grow, but I brought a cheap Dr. Meter LX1330B Lux meter for the next time I try light manipulation, possibly this fall. Until then I will be playing with it.
There is a lot to learn in my little experiment.

Here is a progressive image up date. Not bad for a 240 watts.

I think this is being delivered tomorrow and I have the Photone app on my phone for a counter or verification.

I don't know if they will help me grow better, but I got a lux meter for this grow. Being the 1st time using LEDs I wanted some idea of what I was getting because the dimmer knob position and output seemed strange to my eyes. I then bought a watt meter and measured it for both electrical output power and light hitting the plants. Low and behold most of the dimmer action occurred before the halfway point on the dimmer. I marked the light at 100w increments. Here's a rough drawing but it's close.

I was just putting that out there, because I wouldn't have known half way is not 300w. I am at 350w now in the HMW room and the Lux is 41k. I only get about 10k lux more from 350w to 600w because it tops out in the low 50k lux. That's why I don't intend to go above 450w-500w because the gain in light output isn't that great for the cost and heat generated.

I am still playing with my meters and the DLI for the 240watt is around 32 for a 11 hour light period.

I will be more accurate after a couple of days.

Time for an update: somewhat.

Everything is on auto pilot and building up the buds, still. She is still on 11/13 for flower, and I recently (4-25) reduce the light down to 90%. This is to try an emulate falls shorter and less intense sunlight. IDK , we'll see.

I had a minor problem with a couple of the cola's growing 8 and 12 inches above the rest of the canopy. It was time to tie and pull them to the side to aloud better penetration below.

I will see, but preliminary result are showing a above average yield.

I think you may be right ; she only takes 2 1/2 gallons at solution change, and yes to 5 gallon bucket.

I don't know about you, but I have to smoke what I grow for a long time, so pick one that intrigues you, that you "think" you wouldn't mind smoking for awhile.

I think I would like a lot of these. The Dinafems, the Jamaican, and ACE strains interest me the most.

This Golden Tiger has been growing since early December.

Good Day all,

I wanted to explain why my updates are somewhat under par. I have been using up my @Blue Planet Nutrients and they have been so stable, and come with an easy to follow feed schedule. So nothing to report here.

Aside from that nutrient line I have been adding this in flower
15 ml silica
5 ml of Rapid Start
15 ml Hydro-Guard
and last 30 ml of Purpinator due to late flowering stage

I also use Blue Planet cal-mag 2- scoop for gallon of RO water.
I use this ever other gallon of water I give her.

I normally make 4 gallon or about 15 L or so.
One thing that I think is very important about DWC is, water/solution temperature. Yes, I use Hydro-guard, but I seem to get a better response when I am around 65 -68 degrees or18 - 20c. Many growers will say PH is more important and it is rightfully so, but I keep these two on the same level of important.

So, back to my substandard updates. Well this whole grow has been so uneventful (which is a good think) that I really just don't know what to say, when all I do is water. Hence, the reason of so many images.

I did have the Golden Tiger under light manipulation for two different period of two weeks, but this strain grows so vigorously it can be challenging just control her growth. When I grew this strain again, I believe she would be a good candidate for a indoors kilo plant.

I find myself with not much to say most of the time. I check ph, add down if needed, top up the res., and change res. once a week. I am finding myself spending more time tying down branches each day. I will post pics later.

I think a cool res. is important too. I don't know what's more important, keeping bad things from growing by keeping it cool or the water's ability to hold more oxygen when cold.

Plant is a monster. There's a new thread, forgot the name, growing GT 3rd version. ACE's write up mentions smell of decaying meat on that one. I think I would have kept that to myself.

Most growers don't know about the benefits of using a cooler water/solution and this is often ignored and they pay the price.

There's a new thread, forgot the name, growing GT 3rd version. ACE's write up mentions smell of decaying meat on that one. I think I would have kept that to myself.

I will have to take a look, but I don't smell it.
Maybe I inhaling to much jet fuel in the military.

Hey Tok!

Golden Tiger is a massive sized no doubt.
Did you have a single Viparspectra's 100W LED above the plant? Because honestly thinking it may not be enough for that big girl. Buds doesn't seem to fatten up and it looks like it developes more leaf mass than flowers.
