I use Bobrowns recommendation which is pro tek Silica I believe. I only use the bottle stuff for about 3-4 weeks. I try to make sure I have enough in my soil but the new lights are placing more demand on the plants so I am augmenting on the strains I think might need it. Needless to say I am not using it on my Blue Dream.....but I might give her a couple doses as I start to flower her out.

I think it's a lanky issue. I spread her a lot and almost all the weight is concentrated to the tops, hence the flop. I won't deny that she could have been cared for more in veg, but I think this pheno is og kush dominant. The pheno next to her grows some crazy strong stalks and stems, but just hasn't put out as much frost. Can't wait to see them finish up side by side.

Ok....I'll admit....I'm not up with the lingo....what does OG stand for? Does it stand for anything?
 
Penny dropping the cultural education! I always thought it was OG of an OG gangsta. .
 
But I like ocean grown way better! All my best packs came from cali back in the day.

I googled it and it says some people also claim OG just stands for original? I think we can all agree its a staple strain. Tons of kush crosses. They're almost they're own class the kushes
 
Supposedly the guy that created OG Kush was sharing some with a friend and the friend told it was fine mountain grown kush. P bud replied “ No bro this is Ocean Grown Kush. The name OG Kush eventually stuck.

That name's origin story has to pale compared to the one for ATF ;).

Well it's not ATF. That's a shortened name. Its Matanuska valley thunder fuck. The writer of the original hightimes review/ article changed the name. Ravin Irwin was the guy responsible for getting Alaska to be the first state to legalize cannabis by intentionally getting arrested and winning in court. And that's the reason hightimes was in Alaska and sought out the growers of the original MTF near the cook inlet.

Alaska if a bit more well known, not to mention easier to pronounce (no offense to the indigenous folks up there :)).

Thanks for that info Them! Much cooler than Ocean Grown. Especially since OG Kush is def not kelp ;).
 
I've read it probably 5 or 6 times and it's fun every time!
