Yep I agree, even my little pots have "shrunk" lol. But too compact makes it hard for the roots. You can always add a little media to the top of the pot though :)
 
True true. My seedling is paler than seedlings of the past. Maybe it has something to do with me using a handful of topsoil off the last grow. I suspect all of its goodness will of been washed through. I only used it as I'd not bought my new soil till after I'd potted seedling.
 
Ok, I tend to give my pots a couple of bumps of taps against floor to settle the mix. I also plant at a highest point. Meaning I slope soil around my girl going down to bucket/pot rim. This means water gets pushed automatically to outside of pots. Then as it settles more with other watering's this heaped soil evens out.
If adding a top up later, microwave the soil your adding. as if any beasties got in in the mean time your just infecting your pig pots. Done that one myself before.

I can't get over the rapid growth this metal halide has provided in one day.
But dam it's hot in there. I checked on the girls and my thermometer red 97* laid in full light at plant height.
So iv added another fan. If that don't do it il have to pull out the big guns and introduct the triple turbo tower fan :)

Yea I need a mist bottle for misting the girl. I rubbed off the excess after piks :)
 
I stopped doing any misting of my girls ages ago! I dont think they need it to be honest, but thats just me.

Haven't tried it yet mate....been using up my de-ionised stuff :) I've got a 20ltr water carrier I bought for camping but haven't used yet so that'll be it I reckon :) Years ago I had a unit at Cowpen Lane Ind Est.......I might pop into the old neighbors and see if they're still there lol :) Do you ph yours? If so, what is it with nutes added mate?

no mate iv not ph'd water for ages..... Never have a problem when using plain water in my soil and never had a problem with it using Dutch pro nutes upto the recommended dose. So I'd gues the water is around spot on and Dutch pro range can't affect the PH a great deal. That said though I had a few quid bobbing around in my paypal ballance so as well as buying my digi thermometer I bought some PH testing strips. Nowt flash. Accurate to 0.2ph
 
Lol. I bought some of those too. My ph pen is total poo lol. Problem with the ph litmus paper is I'm colour blind so I have to wait till my son is here to ph water etc lol :)
 
Arrrrr Iv always wondered about colour blindness.
Is it all colours full spectrum or just reds or blues etc? Assuming greens must be ok? Ur plants could be blue for all u no lol
Iv never used the litmus strips before but I thought for the price ya can't go wrong about £1.99 for 200 strips or something.
I realy only bought them for when I start adding "EXPLODE" (Dutch pros flowering enhancer) I don't no how that nute will affect things. I no the general Dutch pro veg and flower nutes don't harm but iv no idea about explode so figured better safe then sorry
 
Red/green/brown are like WTF and Blue/purple....there the worst lol. Thank god I'm not an electrician lol.
