Alaskey Purplish RDWC

I did an imitation nute change. This res is 17 days old, so I pulled about half the water out. I would normally give this to my soil plant. And put back some fresh nutes. I didn't follow any rules since the water has quite a bit of nutes from the last batch. Carbon filter should be here by Monday, we'll see. Looking forward to a legit batch of nutes

Damn... I had a chance to see iron maiden in Edmonton on two diff occasions... I really wish I jumped on it!!!
It’s because you were “caught somewhere in time”! :headbanger:

Haven’t listened to Maiden in years but Powerslave is still my favorite album with Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner as my favorite song. Wicked cool tune!
Great album and a great tune. You have excellent taste.

I was kind of a shit back then. Some of the metal fans would go on about Maiden being the devils music and blah blah blah. Then I’d hit with bands like Venom, Celtic Frost and Possesed and they had no clue what I was talking about. Then I’d tell em those bands made Maidens devil music sound like a harder version of the Christian metal band, Stryper.

I take the devils music serious, maaaaaan!

Thats funny you brought up Stryker. Oz Fox lives close by. At least he used to.

Oh wow. Years ago (mid 80’s) my aunt asked me what I wanted for my birthday. I told her I wanted the album Emperors Return from Celtic Frost. She bought me a fucking Stryper album! Didn’t open it, had other plans.

The next day I took it to the record store and exchanged it plus a few bucks for Celtic Frost- To Mega Therion album that was full of HR Giger artwork!

Nice! I dont really know them. I remember the band, but not the music. I was into TSOL, and Black Flag then.

I did the weekend pair in Toronto in ‘19. Plenty of other times as well. There of course places I either don’t truly care for venue wise, or I may not be comfortable somewhere, or whatever. I don’t travel alone though. But, thankfully, that what your tour fam is for. Greatest people on earth, and we’re everywhere. :cheesygrinsmiley:

But for the most part, I’m pretty good just about anywhere really. Why?

Gotta see my jam. Got my “fix” if you will.

Only continent I’m missing is Australia. That one takes a good chunk on its own, without the rest of whichever tour. I’m getting the point balances up there, so maybe the next album tour or the one after, dates depending.

This past summer would have been my “weakest” effort in 15 years or so at 5 shows. But it’s the third year of the same tour, which was strangely unexpected. And really, I was going to go to more but figured I’d use it on the house instead. One of those things where if you do 15 you might as well do the rest anyway since you‘re already over there. The fun thing is I can sit and work traveling between shows. Really really helps. I take sporadic days as needed, but gotta love the internet. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Is Australia worse than Africa pricewise?

Is Australia worse than Africa pricewise?

It really depends, but not necessarily. Most of it in a typical tour is get to your first show, hop around, come home. Hopping from the EU down isn’t terrible. Not southwest to vegas, but in context not horrid. But not always. Tons of thing can come into play obviously.

And as I’ve grown older, the less I can handle squished. Long haul squished up? Can’t do it. No small churches with no ballroom.

Damn! You’re a die hard live venue enthusiast!! Would love to go to Australia for a holiday yet alone a concert!! That be bad ass!!

I’ve saw black sabbath, Mötley Crüe twice, Alice cooper (which has been my favourite show to date) man Alice cooper can put on a show!! I also saw Metallica, big wreck, and avenged seven fold in Edmonton....

Then we had kids, and live shows came to an end.... oh and also covid....

I saw Motley Cruz with Mega Death and Anthrax at Vortex's favorite venue on the planet, in San Bernardino.

I saw Joey Belladonna in a dive bar with maybe 20 other people there, that was maybe 15 years ago. Definitely not the highlight of his career at that time.
Thats cool. I wouldnt know him from Jesus Christ without Scott Ian. My only real claim to fame like that was a small party in LA where I got to hangout with Rocky George from Suicidal Tendencies. I was a huge Sui fan so it was a big deal. My only other star struck moment was meeting Muttsy the comedian on a cruise ship... not quite the life changing event
