Alafornia's 1st Time Multistrain Medical Grow

Sorry Al, I had to spend the last 4 - 1/2 hours catching up since Friday. It takes me a while to drag my finger across the screen while reading everyone's comments. ;) First, if I've ever seen a happier garden, I'm drawing a blank. Seriously, I catch myself just smiling while looking at your plants. It's contagious, I guess. Second, I love that you incorporated a ratchet strap into your LST. I've never seen that done before and I think it's fantastic. And since you're from Alabama, I would expect you to know that those type straps are the best for securing a 4-wheeler or UTV to a trailer. I'm happy that things are going so well for you, my friend. You're making your momma proud.

I've used ratchet straps (the stretchy ones) to tow a vehicle several times - as in tie it to each frame and get it home to fix it. Haha!

Good to see you, @FishEyedFool .

Uh, Misses uh Vwiggins, can you come here a minute?

Thanks, Newfun. Nikita is looking like she still loves me. Lol

You dun good,Al :welldone:
They look a little pitiful for a little while after bending, but the pitifulness only lasts
a very short while-you did a great job on that one-
I know that "uh-oh" feeling when you first realize what you've done to your beautiful plant, but 5 days from now the plant will have gone from beautiful to awesome!
Like I said before-you're a natural at this stuff!

Lunch pics:

Nikita looks to be doing OK

Nice transplants fornia! Good that @carcass jumped in to save the bottom of that stem with his advice and terrific drawing. And I'm with Amy on the "next time bend more slowly" advice. I bend a lot of plants and I would have done that over 2 or 3 days! It's good to be lucky but better to be smart...for next time. Of course next time you'll start when its younger and less woody. ;)

Good luck with the topping expedition next! :thumb:

First, the pics. I’m showing Nikita and she seems to be recovering well and then the others so we can discuss topping before I screw something up.

I told FEF that I am inspired by his avitar picture to name our next grow after old sitcoms. Sanford and Son, Carol Burnett, All In The Family. Maybe the Brady Bunch...lol

Love it!

You dun good,Al :welldone:

Thanks, John.

Hello Nakita! Few!
Mr.A and Ms.T you are both inspirational.
If you still have you musical instruments around, now it's time to play for them.

I can hum or play songs on the phone for them. :)

Thanks for telling me now, Shed. ;) Ha! Really, thanks for your help.

:thumb:....If you liked that, you should see my stick people....

My stick people don't even look like stick people. Besides, it was very effective.

Hows the weather Ala? It is 120F in Palm Springs today. Im fo sho glad I dont live there!

High in the lows 90's. Humidity 9%

Really depends on whether you want to see how it's going to grow out just for the fun of it :).

I just want good yielding manageable plants. Still looking for that near-perfect tent.

Hey al - it’s hard to say now because I would have topped about 3 nodes ago ;)

Let’s take Northern Lights as an example. If it were me I would top it leaving only 4 nodes behind, so you’d be cutting of 2-3nodes at least. Try not to panic about ‘losing all that plant’. While that grew roots and general strength and health were developing :thumb: You’re going to have to just do stuff and see what happens!

This grow is going to be teaching you a lot about the topping and training aspects, partly because they’re all very advanced to be starting either of those actions. So my advice now would be to not sweat over perfection or even the effort to achieve perfection, and do a few different things just for the experience. The sheer health of the plants is certainly enough for you to revel in and be proud of, It also means they’ll be resilient to any external stressors.
:Namaste:

Back in this post: Alafornia's 1st Time Multistrain Medical Grow

I ask for advice on topping these girls. I'd be willing to go down one or two nodes. I'd also be willing to trying cloning. Tomorrow may be the day.
