Akisunni Indoor Cold & Hot Grow Zones

I moved a web camera into the veg space in my office. This viewing solution is a home grown design. It takes a picture every minute and updates a web page I monitor. Next step is to move all three grow spaces to a single web page to monitor. I am prob going to make a small movie via capturing an image per minute for a while, and watch some of these leaf's grow.

VegNew.jpg

For DYI types: Windows based Computer -> Oracle free VM software -> Ubuntu free Linux desktop -> $5 web camera from ebay -> reprogramming Home Router = real time free images on the net to monitor remotely.

I am working on building a Raspi based server that is embedded with the plants. Basically, a 1999 Pentium II equiv linux server with camera, with software installed, so you just plug it into your home router (wifi is harder, more expensive but not significantly), with an API installed to automatically do everything. Plug in and go to your home computer and enter x address for local viewing.

Big Girl Bud Porn Update
Flower Day 41

Big Girl is growing bud like crazy. Its hard to explain how "many" small budlets this plant has. Each of these is really dense but small. My expectation is the plant will need to go longer to finish off the crop.

Here are some pictures taken a few moments ago. The plant is almost completely filling the space now.

If anyone sees anything, please let me know. This is my first real indoor grow. The first bud was from the outdoor test plant, and the stinky pinky has been indoors, outdoors, indoors and never given a proper space of its own.

The Big Girl is going to be an interesting harvest by the look of it.

all those nugs should get big if you let her flower for 8-10 weeks. good stuff.

I am expecting 10 weeks with it. I have no desire to rush this one. The Stinky Pinky is really starting to fill out on its own, and probably will be done before Big Girl.

36/12 Grow Space Update

Here is the Big Picture of the grow space, and the plants and their size relative to everything. I have moved the 105 watts of 5500 lighting over the Cherry Bomb in the right corner and have the 2 x 65 watt 2700's over Stinky on the left.

Bud Porn Update Part Duex
Stinky Pinky Edition

Stinky Pinky is at 41 days of flower now. Stinky is living up to her name, and is now comfortably into its flower stage. It received a mega flush a week ago. Since then, it has really started to flower around its bud sites. Lots and lots of white hair growth at this stage.

I just gave her a 2.5 quarts of rainwater, with Alaska Fish based products in a 0 - 10 - 10 formula, one cap.

Cherry Bomb Update
Is in its first week of its new home, and its new light schedule. It is starting to generate growth. I really wish I could have given this plant a longer time cycle in the veg state. I am really pushing it here. I am pondering trying to take a cutting and getting a clone going in the veg state, so if this plant is tasty, there is at least a proper clone being grown of it in reserve.

Blue Dream Dead Clone Lives

And then there is this girl, who just wont die. I think I will name her "Jerry" after Garcia and the deadheads. She is starting to enjoy the 36/12 space. I am honestly not sure what to do with her. I was going to toss her, but she is now actually growing in-spite of everything against her, including my approach to her care.

I will realistically be planting her into something besides her cutting container, and prob move her back to veg space in a few. Or do I just up size her container and let her grow from the door space in the 36/12 as an experiment? Hmmm :volcano-smiley:

24/0 Veg Space Update

All kids in the Veg space got an upgrade in housing today. I repotted each of them, and glad I did so. All three were showing signs of root bound. That is, each of them clones and bag seed had roots making laps around the inside of their grow containers.

big plants and lots of light. good stuff. I go like 9 weeks from pistil very ripe and nice. it's good that you're planning to wait cause it's worth it :)

This weekends project is showing some signs of coming together.

The object in the following two photos, is my Portable Plant Monitor design. My BiL rebuilt it from my original design a few weeks ago. Combining those with a few small changes to both code and internal layout, its coming along nicely.

IMG_258714.JPG

It checks soil moisture levels.
It checks reservoir or bucket of water PH.
It tracks your ambient temperature and humidity conditions.
It has a real time clock added so each data point is recorded.
It records every data point to its removable 16 gig SD drive as a CSV file. This is basically an excel file type, that is platform compatible for those who want to move the data to a different tracking program.

However, as I have spent the weekend staring at it, it seems like I should probably make a base station version, powered by a USB wall wart that helps monitor all aspects of the grow from inside the space.

Bud Porn Alert

I just took some photos of Big Girl with her lights off, so these will look different then any prier. I pulled two small nuggets off of lower limbs and put them in a ceramic cup in a space that is about 115 degrees to dry out over night.

Due to the fact my grow space(s) were not ready when I started this journey and journal my record keeping of what I purchased isnt the best. It appears that Big Girl may in fact be either A) a different version of Blue Dream then SoCals version, or B) I reversed it and the Stinky Pinky when I planted them. This is a possibility too.

I will post pictures of the Stinky Pinky later, but first here are the first dark shots of what I call Big Girl, what ever her parental linage maybe. She is pretty frosty looking for Day 45 of Flower...

I have my first falling over Bud. Its the tallest one in a corner but not what would have been the primary cola. When I took these photos I tried to get a photo but my hand was propping it up as it flopped over. This could get interesting over the next month... I think she has another 30 days to run.

that particular plant looks great. she's full of food and has plenty of light (if I know you lol). she should do well if you keep her drinking that water till she tells you she's hungry, then feed.

what b.real said :) I bet those samples will be nice. great job doing this for your first time. Those nugs will probably fatten up in the next couple weeks too! :cheertwo:

Bud Porn Part Duex

36/12 zone. The new "cold zone" of the grow title had its compressor burn out during the first days of this build. I was unable to use it per the title's intent. In the future, I will be buying a new deep freezer and installing a LED (Any Sponsors out there?) :-) version of this grow design with a closed environment. It will have a CO2 boost at top, and a hole for Ox release at top, but outside of that it will remain sealed. That was the intent here, but alass we work with what we have.

In this case, I have been running 1 x 105 watts of 5500, and 2 x 65 watts of 2700 for its lighting. I have been pondering if I could install a 3rd 65 watt in the space with the elevated temps this container runs. In the Big Girl Grow space its 1x6500, 1 x 5500, and 2 x 2700 where in the 36/12 I was running only the three lamps.

Then my 420 buddy had to say...

that particular plant looks great. she's full of food and has plenty of light (if I know you lol).

and... well, he does... and I kept smiling as I stared at the grow space and decided to dig into bag of spare parts and install another 65 watts of 2700 in the space to bring it to an even 300 watts of CFL (Real). This brings both flower spaces to 300 watts with the only difference Big Girl has a 6500 spare 65 watts to the 36/12 space which has all 2700's

So that brings us to the new lighting look at the 36/12 grow space.

IMG_26285.JPG

Its bright and cozy in there. Total lumes is about 16,700 for the space.

Here is the tool rack as I call it.

Which brings us to Living Dead Girl "Jerry"... I potted her for the door.
IMG_262411.JPG

She had grown a nice set of roots of late, and obviously likes the environment, so what the hey, Jerry is my Door girl. It would be funny if she ends up being my mother plant.

So now the two girls in the space. Here is the new girl. She is no longer as shy as she was a week ago.

IMG_26279.JPG

This leaves us with the girl I have called Stinky Pinky, but whom I am starting to think might really be the Blue Dream... Here are some photos.

STOP or anyone reading this,

Thank you for dropping in. I have a question. I know that lots of people like to use molasses in their supplementation. Since Molasses is refined from sugar cane or sugar beats, I thought that maybe feeding my plants Raw unrefined Sugar Cane would provide the same benefits, or even more so. Do you know if anyone else uses raw sugar cane for their misting/feeding solution?

I was thinking about how Big Girl has built lots of tight nugs, and I remembered that during the peak of heat during her veg stage, I was giving her regular misting events with raw sugar cane added to the water... High dosages too. Prob tables spoons worth into a liter/quart of tap water.

Anyone else do this? use actual raw sugar cane vs the refined molasses...
