AKGramma's Perpetual Grow

:slide: Way to go seed making AK! How awesome. ONe day I’d like to have some time and space to do that. Must be great to know that you’re all good for seeds for the foreseeable future :thumb: Nice work

You don't need a lot of room. Just do one strain at a time, and lightly cover the mated pair with a semi-transparent or clear trash bag. This worked for me, and the male did not pollinate my ganga, which was in the same 3' x 3' grow unit. You leave the bottom of the bag open for air circulation and ease of watering the pots. I also trimmed out any male parts that showed up below the bottom of the bag. You don't need many branches, because pollen goes a long way.

Time for some pics. All 32 days in flower. Sorry for all the edits. I put the wrong strain on some of the pics and had to reload.

First, some closeups of the AKDC47, just using my old digital camera.

On my PC, the trics on the leaves show up well. Not very good here. And it's hard to tell what are plumped up buds and which are seeds. Time will tell. I had hoped the AKDC47 was ganga, but maybe not.

The Afghani on the left and the ATF on the right. The Afghani is shorter and seems to be a bit behind the ATF in development.

You've really got them grooving this round gramma! The pics a but washed out but you can tell from the far lighter green those buds are covered with frost. Very nice. And your atf kinda puts mine to shame lol. Mine stretched a ton and got away from me a bit. hope your doing as well as those bouquets your growing. Arctic bowl is coming by for dinner tonight with his wife making some ribs. Yum! Well have a great one!

My home-bred AKDC47 buds are getting really plump, and exhibit a olive-green color. I had to prop them up, cause they fell over one day, practically uprooting themselves! The White Castle father really brought some vigor and weight to the AK47 x Durban poison hybrid I started with two grows ago. I'm very pleased with the result!

The ATF is much lighter in growth and bud composition, like many of the sativa-heavy strains I've grown. Plenty of seed pods for future grows.

The Afghani is starting to push a new round of pistils around the developing seed pods.

I'm, going to let all of them go as long as they can, gradually harvesting any buds that are ripe, and leaving the seeds to dry "on the vine".

What I have left is healthier than the last couple grows, and no signs of mites or deficiencies. The leaves aren't drying up and falling off this time around, either. I hit something right, for a change. :slide:

43 days into flower and my ladies are really putting out the pheromones! I didn't notice it before, because, until the weather got rainy, I had floor fans going all through the house. :yummy:

Your garden is looking pretty fine AK! Nice to see the previous challenges of pests leave you and some lovely buddage developing, from home made seeds. :):thumb:

The tincture I made was a success! Thank you. Watering it down a bit helps with the harshness, and it doesnt suffer from that because it came out super strong! I left it go a long time because we can’t get high proof alcohol easily here, it’s all restricted. So I had pretty low proof - left it in the cupboard for 3 months! It’s really strong, is a 2:1 CBD and too much knocks us out. My partner really likes it and has worked out a good micro dose. I prefer my oil based tinctures but I’m glad I’ve got something the partner loves - and I’ll refine it in future. Most folks here who need higher proof and don’t have access to it (are not a registered herbalist or something) distill store bought stuff to get it higher. We may do that down the track. Anyway - just wanted to let you know. I used the new moon approach that you do too

AK been awhile since I did a drive-by here.. Girls look happy and healthy. Glad to hear you got the bugs under control.. That can be a hard one... GL and Keepem Green

You can use the tincture in a mixed drink. The tincture can be pretty bitter if you dont like vodka or Rum, so add fruit juice to it, or your favorite soda. As long as you use the same dosage of tincture, you can control the effects.

Once I culled all the weak and buggy clones, and thoroughly sprayed down the plants I grew from seed, the mite problem was 90% solved. After the 4th week in flower, I didn't spray them anymore to preserve the buds. What I have left are vigorous and healthy. :yahoo:

It is 45 days since the switch and three ladies are ready for harvest. All their pistils have dried up, the seed pod are splitting, and there are lostsa trics! No, I cannot see well enough to distinguish cloudy/amber from clear through a loupe.

The home-bred AKDC47 ladies are more than ready. (AK47 x Durban Poison) x White Castle
The ATF is also ready.

Both of these finished up much earlier than the descriptions state, and AK47 (the base cultivar in my home-bred strain) advertizes 63 days. All the others take longer when grown as a single strain.

The Afghani is still throwing out pistils around her seeds and doesn't have all that much on her. So I will let her continue on.

I will be busy today!
