So a tally of 22 days until first hairs. She stands a towering 3.5 inches with a reach of 9.5 inches and a standing node count of 8 high.
Guy who gave me the seedling says she's a 44 day flower. I'll be counting just for fun. So If she triples in size I'll have a barely foot tall plant lol. Should be fun.
Okay now that we're in business here we should start discussing a couple of questions I've been pondering.
Lower growth. First couple of nodes. They look quite healthy and green but I feel bad for them shaded under the other bigger nodes. Is it best to nip them in the bud now, or give them a chance at survival with my next question:
LST. Is it even reasonable to try to train a plant under 4 inches tall? I'd like to start now so the stretch occurs throughout the plant instead of solely on top but how.
I've just been trying to tuck leaves under each other for now but maybe instead of turning the plant I could hang the led sideways and rotate the plant? Does that even make sense? Maybe I'm just high. Hope you are too.
You have a female cannabis plant. I would leave the lower buds on the plant if the plant will not get much taller and minimally defoliate an auto flower cannabis plant. I would not extensively train an auto flower cannabis plant as an auto flower cannabis plant does not have sufficient vegetative growth time to take advantage of many forms of Low Stress Training.
i second what has been exposed by my good friend KJC, i have grown some autos, and you should just let it be, don't stress her with LST because you will stunt her growth, remember she is on a biological clock and we want her to grow as much as she can in the time she has left, so don't defol either, just very very light LST.
when she stretch you can make very light LST, tie down leafs and branches to let light reach the bottom leaves and colas, here is a pic from an auto which i did very light LST with good results
The more important subject is what do you think of my xlst leaf training. Too harsh? Too soft? Just right? I think this way allows more light into the lower nodes and should help create a branchier plant possibly?
And by the way I found out that you don't need ph up or down specific solutions at all if you ph up with silica and ph down with gh florablend vegan plant food.
Silica sometimes doesn't like to mix into a nutrient solution directly so either add it before the nutes or add it to water first.
I wish I took a pic before I tied her down she was beautifully stretching her leaves and all happy looking
Was thinking of upping the dose tomorrow but the brew has just been so healthy and perfect scent no hints of a bad smell from the reservoir and my roots have been exploding
Since everything was good I went ahead and gave her full strength nutes. That's
7 . 5 ml of flora Nova grow.
Supplemented with
15 ml of silica - I used 10ml to adjust ph.
10 ml of calmag
10 ml of florablend
10 ml diamond nectar
1 ml of floralicious plus
1 drop of enzymes per liter
Also did a rain water pour through consisting of rain water ph adjusted to 5.8 with Diamond nectar and florablend. Also added enzymes to the flush. Flushed 4l through the hydroton.
Hopefully she likes her new brew. Thanks for all the views and likes I never thought I'd break 1000 and 100. She's loving the attention too as she just started to release the most pleasant of skunky odors I've ever smelt
Just upgraded my arsenal with a tds pen and Dutch master gold sarurator and liquid light. I reckon I'll give this little led a hand by upping the leafs efficiency.
My tds which is calibrated by 342 ppm NaCl shows me 121.0 x 10. So I'm running 1210ppm with my full strength nutes and additives. I'll check frequently to make sure everything is being sucked up equally and adjust as necessary
Got to the tent this morning and calcium buffer raised my ph to 6.3. Brought her back down with ph down because I would have had to use a lot of florablend to drop 5 points.
5.8 once again and everything looking good. I think the liquid light and saturator will give my plant a couple of extra inches of height which should mean increased yield b hopefully.
I received some pics of another seedling started the same time from the same seed pack but grown in whatever soil mix I saved Akela from and it's like 5 nodes behind about half the width and already flowering on top.
I think my healthy environment helped bring this girl up as big as possible and she's surpassed her sister by quite a bit. I can show you if you want to see the difference between some unknown soil grow with no ph adjustments or led spectrum and my dwc led baby. It's really night and day
