AfricanGrower's 1st Hydro Journal - Ebb&Flow - Bubblelicious 2013

That is pretty amazing. I could have each and every variable controlled at the touch of a button! I do think the applications for this serve a far better purpose in a 'Grow Room' rather than my dingy tent!

Ideally yes, but this can be implemented on much smaller scales. I saw a power receptacle the other day for like $80 that has all that wifi shit built right in, and you just download the app to your phone to control the devices connected. Especially for me where I live with 2 other stoners that love to entertain guests, a few of which are city cops. These people are willing to meet me half way by not getting nosy about what goes on here, but if I have a large noisy blower in a closet, discussions that I don't want to have may be had and to have the ability to turn things on and off can be done w/o me having to go into my room for 3 minutes.

This little doo dad has made the top 5 of Skybound's wish list.

Now thats more like it links please :thedoubletake:

That will take some time b/c I was just researching when I found it and was so stoked at the idea in general, that I forgot to bookmark that product and I can't remember what language I used in my Google search.

I think an 'all-around' monitoring system would be ideal for me when I take those long weekend breaks!
Right, because we don't already stare at our plants enough... kayak

We all know that we're not going to stop staring. This just makes it so you aint gotta ruin your high by getting up, walking to your grow tent, open it up, stand there staring for a while, close the tent, walk back to where you were sitting/laying and try to remember what you wanted to do with the 5 minutes that you just completely wasted when you could've just stayed on your chair/couch and looked via your cellphone.

I like outdoor cus sometimes I go a few days without visiting them and they always look different like totally new plants lol then I stare for hours and try to remember to finish my work before sun comes up.... It is hard not to stare I agree with all the above!

The monitoring devices are awesome idea but imagine the follies of a smart phone device , imagine turning your lights off like pocket dialing LMFAO! then botching a mini forest and a few months of hard work and staring down the toilet :(

Good point! I have always been against password protecting my phone, but if I ever get one of those products, I will then put a PW onto my phone to save from such accidents.

The story of my life, glad its not just me.

Was starting to think I had a problem :thumb:

+Reps for the links Sky! I just wonder how small of a scale you can set the schedule times to run. If so this might be the first step into replacing my digital timers for my res and lights/ventilation.

Flower WEEK 2

Hey all, just here with a short update. I got some goodies in the mail yesterday and did a complete diet change for these two ladies. I went with the General Hydroponics Flora Series as I have seen much success with its simplicity!

I went ahead and flushed the Bubb that is in the 3.5 gallon nursery pot, and the bagseed that is in the 1 gallon pot with 1/2 the recommended dose of FloraKleen. It is supposed to dissolve any salts that have built up in the medium, so coming from Fox Farm I wanted to avoid as much mixing of chemicals as possible!

Found a few ladybugs around the 5 degree cooler base of the stem!

REG, this one's dedicated to you bro ;)

Res Change:

-4ml/g of Florablend
-5ml/g of CaMg
PER 5 Gallons:
-4 Parts Micro
-4 Parts Bloom
-4 Parts Gro

pH:5.8
PPM:710

SO overall the Bubb is still stretching and really dominating over the bagseed. If I were to spread her out given the space the Bubb would easily cover a 4ft x 4ft footprint. I'm going to have to squeeze the bagseed in the corner of the screen!

I am expecting my pots today so I will do a BIG update on final transplant and trellis setup soon. I will also be using both Ebb & Flow buckets with both plants. Hopefully that will boost the bagseeds growth rate!

Looking Awesome bro! Will you be stretching the bubb all the way out to 4'x4'? I think I see a pound in AG's future. Just a guess, but b/c the timing programs are being set via smart phone, I'm guessing that there would be a broader selection of perimeters. The key word I am noticing that is being used is "scenes" in that one can have thousands of scenes programed so I'm understanding that a scene is just a program that the user controls, and also to have the ability to override the scenes in real time to either turn off or on a device plugged into the receptacle makes a product of this type a MUST HAVE. Now I just gotta work on getting back to work so I can afford some of these products. Heck, I'm pretty sure I could locate metering valves to measure out nutes (like drink mixers in a bar), and a solenoid valve to control RO water feed to a res, one could likely do res changes from thousands of miles away if the right equipment is obtained.

Imagine this, your tent/closet/room is outfitted with water control via your RO filter and a solenoid valve, you have a zoomable/omni-directional security cam inside, all lights, fans, pumps are controlled via this app on your phone, you have all your nute bottle opened and upside down on a metering valve (each bottle) so you could add any measure of ml of that liquid to your res which means you could dose your res in ml or even drops (think IV bags), if you have a separate pump in your res for draining, you could empty and refill remotely, then dial in your regimen, test with your res with your Tri Meter and see the results from your cam. There are just too many possibilities to attempt to outline them all, and of course the price tag to build a setup as sophisticated as this would likely be in the thousands, but when considering the value we each place on our crop, to have the ability to spot a problem in your grow from lets say work, the user could possibly remedy the situation w/o punching out and needing to be docked for that day. Sorry for the rant.
