Re: Aberration Goes Ker Bloom! - 2009
I'm making nice progress on the new grow space. The new rafters are done and all tied together. That ceiling is pretty rock-solid. I finished putting up 1x4 along two edges to attach the ceiling drywall.
I'm cutting 2'x4' pieces of plywood with cutouts right now - they guard the eave vents from being plugged with the insulation. I need to guard 7 vents.
Then I can hang 2 more pieces of drywall and I'm ready to bring in a drywall lift and do the ceiling up. I already have the drywall for all of this. Then 2 pieces on the wall on the other side of the new door and I get to plaster and paint it all.
Then I can install the door, and start sealing every nook and cranny. I do sealed rooms. Absolute control makes everything just move along predictably most of the time. I like that. I also will be running water and sewer to the room.
I will be installing rubber molding along the bottoms of the walls. I plan to use something at least a couple inches high, and I'll use glues (depending on the surface, drywall or concrete) to attach it. Then I intend to seal it to the floor and wall with a paintable, low VOC caulk. All cracks in the floor will be sealed as well. I may paint the floor. I am not sure yet. That way even a large spill will spread across the room and only be an inch or two high and the sealed molding should hold it. The floor has a slope and there's another room downhill from here that I would like to carpet.
Except at the door. There's nothing I can do about that AFAIK. I want to be able to open it from the inside in an emergency. It's a safety exit even if it's normally closed and locked. I can get it sealed about 1" up, but then there's a door and all ...
Then I can install AC, dehumidifiers, fans, lights, ducting, fans, heaters, CO2, sensors, and move the Marley banner in there. Then she should be ready for use.
Did I forget anything? Oh, several things, I am sure. I'm trying to take pics as I go. There just isn't much to see because it's weekends-only work and I have so much else that needs done as well.
I love every stoned minute of it.
