Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

I am back in the saddle. It has been eventful. There are minor spider mite issues, which I will deal with swiftly and ruthlessly. My A/C was off for a few hours last Tuesday, but there is no sign of negative effect. Today I am doing chores. I will at least take some cuttings and treat for the bugs. There is also cleaning to do, and if I have any energy left I can always work on the framing for the grow expansion.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

Hiya bro. I realized I've not posted here in a while. I was re-reading your recepies the other day. I remember when they were completely greek to me. Now they're like pig latin or something.

Grats on getting some cleaning and dealing with the critters early.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

Thanks, lol.

I'll get back into the swing of posting pictures and progress photo-layouts again soon. The older Matanuskan Th. girls (the only ones still in the old 9 gallon pots) are in flush. The youngest Matanuskan Th. girls looked to be a bit overwhelmed by nutes last week, but now they look better. Everything else is chugging along.

I took clones today: 6 each of G13xGB, BD and Lav. No Matty because I don't have an appropriate donor atm, but I have one up and coming. Two actually.

The newest MTs are looking less freaked out. I think I can start upping the nute dose next time.

Tomorrow will be a very busy day, but I am going to do my best to make sure both MT4 & MT5 go to the trimmers. Then BD.3A and BD.3B go into bloom. I do love the Blue Dream. With luck I will get some work done on the new bloom room, and maybe even pictures. 🤷

:peace:

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

I didn't get a chance to harvest the MTs today. :(

Tomorrow I hope.
VELO- please take some pics of before and after harvest if possible, I would love to see them up close and personal.. BL

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

Ack! I took them down without pics already. Sorry, I was in a rush today due to a grandchild's birthday.

They were floppy and laying about mostly. I kept staking them up, but if there was a way they could droop they did. The colas were good though. I have spoken to my mentor about this and he says he is getting a different pheno of the Matanuskan Th. that has better structure. If that doesn't do it, this behavior is enough for me to let the MT go for now. I have other strains that are not this viney that produce equally good buds (and some, better).

ABERRATION- Yea I hate when the Ladies get real floppy and saggy late into bloom..And I hear ya!staking them up all the time becomes a pain in the ass..Im having the same issues with the WW strain i have going and will no longer be growing it because of it's week structure and long flowering time...
Well check back soon later- BRADA:cool::blunt::grinjoint:RoorRip:bravo:

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

Right. I got BD.3A and BD.3B into bloom pots and put them in bloom. Standard 70 days says they come out roughly November 24th assuming all goes smoothly. Issues induce delays, and we deal with them as they come.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

Pics!

All of these are from yesterday (13th). All ages and stats are yesterday as well. I gathered the data, I just ran out of time.

First, here is veg, before the transplants:

20100913Aber-01.jpg

Here is a closer look at small veg. The color of the tape denotes the strain, and I just write what's after the period in my scheme. So, for instance, and Blue Dream named BD.3A would be marked .3A or just 3A, but on blue tape. Brown/tan for G13xGB, Purple for Lavender, and Green for Matty. There are 2 of each strain here:

20100913Aber-02.jpg

And here is 6 each of BD, G13xGB, and Lav rooting under the dome. There was not a suitable MT donor at the time, but I have two healthy plants so they'll be fine:

Under that flood table in the veg room is much of my nute reserves. I just 'cleaned' so I took a pic. The gallons are on the right and the 2-1/2 gallon jugs are on the left. That, plus some odds and ends, is enough nutes and biologicals to last 2 months. I was a Boy Scout. I like to be prepared when possible:

Here is all of bloom, pre-transplant and relocation of the two new girls, so only 4 plants:

Here is the big girl of the moment - BD.2A ("Amelia", Blue Dream, 34/66 days, 47" tall):

And finally, MT3.1C ("Guinevere", Matanuskan Th., 23/70 days, 30" tall)

20100913Aber-20.jpg

I also transplanted BD.3A and B. So here's some representative shots. I'm still getting used to 21 gallons of soil. Rocks over the holes:

20100913Aber-05.jpg

Enough soil for the new resident to sit for the correct depth. Here I'm gaging that before I take it out of the old pot:

20100913Aber-21.jpg

This was BD.3A. She had nice roots:

20100913Aber-22.jpg

She is healthy:

20100913Aber-03.jpg

So is BD.3B. BTW, I just realized that I have small veg plants with the same "serial number". The smaller ones should be .3C and .3D. Here is everyone in bloom afterward:

Yeah, Blue Dream really is a dream. She averages over 12 oz per plant dried, and that was in pots half this volume under a 600W. She produces the most; she stands up best under the weight; she's beautiful at every stage, including dried; she has jumbo nugs; despite all that she has a great 'up' high that can throw you for a loop if you aren't careful. It's really hard to complain about Blue Dream. She's an easy girl I guess. ;)

I have indeed now finished converting the bloom room from 9 gal to 21 gal pots. I hope it helps because I now mix twice the nutes. :)

I started that way because I had the fixtures and just needed a couple boxes of bulbs. Each can be adjusted for height and tilt (end to end) independently. After the expansion I expect to go to T-5s, but for now these are great and lots more flexible than even 2 or 4 small HIDs would be, so why change?

Aberration Goes ker Bloom! -indeed

Thanks. I was wondering if a mod would consider just changing the title of this thread and replace the "2009" with "Perpetual" leaving the hyphen. I don't know if a mod would do that here or not. I frequent boards where they will not. Anyway, this has turned into a perpetual even if the title doesn't say so.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

Thanks weedtastic. I'll have to work up the courage to see if they can go longer. :rasta:

I'm working on the expansion again today. I'm framing in the final wall (12.5' long and 9' high) now. As soon as I get that done I can do insulation and drywall. Woot! For those who weren't reading when I talked about this before (and for those too stoned to remember ;) ), I am framing it as a 6" wall with staggered 2x4 studs for better sound and thermal insulation, so that means I have to piece in 18 or so studs, one at a time. It's not terribly hard, but it is time consuming^2.

First, though, I have to finish putting in the top and bottom plates. I have most of the anchor bolt holes drilled to secure the bottom plate to the concrete floor. Only 2 1/2 holes left to drill. I just hope my concrete bit and Harbor Freight hammer drill hold up that long. I'm posting now because I needed to give the drill motor a cool-off break. And the bit is starting to fray at the tip. That's never a good sign.

I sure love smoking this Blue Dream, but even bone dry it is so oily. When I roll a joint, it doesn't draw easily until the whole thing gets warm. Then it's, well, a dream.

Oh, the difficulties of being a pot smoker. Whatever shall I do? :cheesygrinsmiley:
