I never got back to you about the harvest video, but I took some notes when I was watching that one, so let me take another hoot and share those thoughts with you.
Harvesting With Pigeons420: random thoughts on watching the video
- I love the idea of creating a strong vortex in the first bucket before dipping. I can't believe that never occurred to me before.
incidentally, I use to be nonchalant about measuring the lemon juice and baking soda, and then one day I did measure and was shocked at how little I'd actually been using. Now I add more than I did before and see a difference in what gets washed out. Something to consider.
I know I've mentioned this before somewhere, but with dense buds I dip and swirl until I see no more air bubbles escaping.
- Because I process mostly for oils and edibles I don't trim much off the plant. I take the tips of the sugar leaves only, the part without any noticeable sugar. I say "noticeable" because every inch of the plant above ground has trichomes. Most are only one cell high.
- I always start first thing in the morning, before sunrise, and I ALWAYS forget to put on some music. That's 100% of my harvests, performed in the dark and in silence until daybreak. I know, I'm a bit weird.
- Maybe it's all those years wearing gloves while stretching skin for Dale's tattooing, but I can't make myself wear them. However, I'm a careful trimmer who does a minimal amount of trimming, so this works out well for me. I appreciated you showing that little twirling motion with the branch you're trimming. Neat!
- It was cool how you tilt the pot to get the plant over the work surface. The window screen...... nice touch. Would have never thought of this, and I have one leaning up against the wall in the hallway.
- I've always trimmed from the bottom. It's easier to see where you want to trim next.
Ok, I'm awake now. The BioBomb capsule just kicked in.
Have a wonderful day Pigeons,
and everyone else as well.
