Yea, works perfect and a nice looking flapper vent with the 10-12 inch metal sleeve was only like $10 or so.

Do you know whether the 5" carbon filter and ducting will fit and work correctly with a bigger 6" fan?
Couldn't I just leave the windows open to let fresh air circulate around the room? The room which has my grow tent is really small. The 1.2x1.2x2m tent takes up around half or possibly more of the entire room. I personally prefer putting my ducting near a window out of sight as putting a hole in my wall seems like alot of effort plus it's unheard of for upstairs room to have dryer vents round here so I think it would look abit suspicious. Maybe I'm just being paranoid?
Anyway, I'm just going to see if a bigger exhaust fan reduces heat for now. If not im going to seriously consider the cool tube route. I just need to know if I could use my current ducting and carbon filter with a bigger fan?

It will work. You need an reductor, from 6'' to 5''. And yes, you can leave the window open and place your ducting somewhere near it. But the very point of reducing heat relies on the fact that the cool air should be brought from the outside and the hot air should be extracted outside. If you intake and exhaust air in the same room you're, kind of, defeating the purpose of the whole thing because you're, effectively, heating up the room.

Lol yeah I get what you're saying but the room temp is always a few degrees celsius lower. I'll drag the ducting over towards the window and see if it helps , it should knock a few degrees off.

If it doesn't fit, get a reductor. It's a piece of plastic with 6'' opening on one side, narrowing down to 5''.
It's not about inches, it's about capacity (cfm). As long as it's centrifugal, it works better for extraction than radial fans.

take it just above the new growth nodes and 6" is a good size for a clone. i do have an instructional in one of the journals in my signature but not sure which one lol.
