The other is that I use THC only strains instead of 2:1 ratio with CBD. This is based on discussion we had somewhere around page 60 +/-10 pages (it probably mentions Mara Gordon or Aunt Zelda’s if you want to search for it). Some research showed that THC and CBD are more effective taken separately
I've gone back starting at page 45ish and read right through page 77 and I've not seen mention of a change in suggested ratios. The following is the most recent confirmation I saw up through mid-thread. I'll keep reading and see if I just haven't gotten to it yet.
I love the THC numbers. Cajun was pretty firm about his belief that we want to get somewhere around a 2:1 THC:CBD ratio. The THC will get after the tumor cells and the CBD will not only work on reducing inflammation and the attending pain, but will also soften the euphoric effects of the THC while extending THC's euphoric window. In other words, feeling good vs feeling high. If it's possible to get more oil I'd go for it.
It's the indica traits that're probably making her sleepy. In a perfect world I'd be looking for something more sativa with that 2:1 ratio for days, so she can have energy to function and keep the oil you have for evening or night doses.
If she has labs coming up I'd hold on the 5:1 capsules until you see those results. The incoming data is showing that many patients are responsive to lower doses than we suspected would be therapeutic. With cannabis you can shoot too far and decrease effectiveness until you get things reset. Cannabis is a kind medication, in that it won't hurt you, but we sometimes lose sight that it's an herbal medication, working on a cellular level to repair and heal. That can take longer than we care to wait, but it's worth the time to move slowly and carefully.
For the most part it’s working, but I’m looking into how to reincorporate CBD into my treatment.
I'm a big fan of CBD and also CBG as well as the acidic versions of each. I make a
Dust from both decarbed and acidic versions of each CBD, CBDa, CBG, CBGa, THC, and THCa.
My current mix is 60% CBD, 20% CBDa, 7% CBG, 3% CBGa, 7% THC, and 3% THCa.
I grow 3 different strains, each high in its major cannabinoid and very low on the others which makes it super easy to mix and match depending on what out come I want.
I sprinkle it in to many meals I consume and it is quite flexible in its use. It would likely be more effective if mixed with a carrier oil which I sometimes do, but I also use it by itself a lot (mostly actually).
1) it clears THC that builds up on brain, so I do take weekly CBD doses but daily would be better.
I've not heard that about CBD, have you a source you could point me to? I do know CBD is a very effective anti-inflammatory.
2) I want to verify the the research on THC/CBD interference was correct. I’ve fallen into working on habit and need to get back to the science if I’m going to be able to help others.
My understanding is that CBD interferes with the "lock and key" concept of THC binding to the CB1 receptor when it is consumed at higher amounts relative to THC. But to the contrary, in small relative amounts it actually potentiates the THC effect (and same in reverse with mostly CBD and a small amount of THC relative to that CBD dose).
Also, if you google CBG vs CBD, you'll see quite a bit of overlap. CBG is the Mother of all cannabinoids so that one might be even better than CBD in some cases. It also doesn't have the THC off-setting effect which, depending on your targeted outcome, might be either helpful or counter-productive.
I wonder, though, if it might even work better on canceling combination with THC than CBD does since it doesn't seem to interfere with the connection to the CB1 and CB2 receptors and therefore maybe THC would be more efficient in its cancer killing role.
