ABS is used for non-pressure applications and unfortunately only comes in max of 4" diameter. PVC duct tubing come in 10" but the stuff isn't cheap. $18.40 per foot. I figured 4 4' pipes with 4 or 5 sites each would have been perfect but that's like $300 and may not be worth it unless you're growing commercially. 6" PVC is I guess the economical way to go.

10" 10.75 O.D.) PVC Duct | U.S. Plastic Corp.

As far as Funny's bug problem...

that is a bit costly. wait till your established then spend the bucks till then it looks like PVC.
need a few grows under the belt first.

I like the peroxide idea, but I just think it won't be enough to kill everything. He needs a 1/4 concentrated dose of isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol and pray it evaporates before doing any damage to the plant. That's what I would do. I'd rather sacrifice a few plants then have a infestation. But that's just me. :bong:

Yes dude! the isoproyl should work. Great idea! we use it to get rid of mealy bugs in university green houses.

MBS

you think that would work?
how would i go about and mix that up?
if i sell this psp in a few hours i was gona pick up nematodes and some neemoil based spray....
would your method be better? would the isoproyl kill on contact? both larvae and the orange mites?
my bad for all the Qs i just need some input besides all the reading....

Hey Funny,

so just ad straight isopropyl to a spray bottle and kill those F$@&ers. they seem to be all around the edges of your pots so get close to them and it should kill on contact. we use it straight on mealy bugs in our greenhouse/labs at the university and it does'nt, has'nt hurt any of our plants and with mealy bug we have to hit them under the leaves so there is direct contact with the isopropyl and plants. but we are careful and target the insect/bug not the entire plant. try a small area as a test. you might have some isopropyl in your bathroom. any kind will do. CVS pharmacy has 71% and 91% we always use 91% it evaporates rather quickly.

anyway, my nat problem is getting worst. i guess neemoil?

do you know. i havnt had this prob at school yet. and i keep forgeting to ask.

side view. they average about 5" in their 2nd week of 12/12. I'm not sure if i should keep tucking them under as i have about another 6 to 7 weeks before harvest. this strain is supposed to top out at 27". the net is at ten and the biggest plants width at present is 28x30 so now i'm confussed as i read it tops out at 27 and it's prob past that. I need colas at 10" to 12" max. can anyone help????

Stay tooned, clones on their way next

MBS

ok guy peeps,

so my attempt at cloning one plant for 14 girls, two for motherhood and revert to veg.
so yes I was able to clone 14 times off one girls who was or seemed to be Sativa domminant
as she is averaging 9 thin leaflets per petiole.
This was done yesterday and of course they wilted as expected. What got me is that they are standing up again within 24hrs. Hmm...i'm guessing they'll wilt again before rooting, they're a bit on the long side.

So what I did was...
after cutting and secondary wounding 1/4" above first cut, they where dipped in a mild solution of water and Humbolt root stimulator.
And theeen Olivias cloning gel. And theeen inserted into 2" rockwool which were also soaked in the humbolt solution. Lastly I placed them in 3" net cups and coverd with...been smoking i just lost my train of thought.

OHH shit! then cover with hydroton and placed in dome. I did mist with rez nutes diluted to 200ppm from 500ppm, ph5.8 at the time.

they are under 4foot T5 floros. if you guy can invest in the T5s i recommend you do. nice light.

ok so more pix

This is my Bonsai at least thats what i call her. i think she will be a mom. she is too good looking not to be.
She looks like she's dancing or i'm just trippin on da home grown. maybe both
you tell me.

Hello mybigself, sorry I'm late to tune in but damn you got a nice set up here. Everythings looking amazing! Just wondering how helpful the SCROG blanket is in your grows. Have you used chicken wire or anything like that before to train them this way? I was thinking about doing this on my next grow, would love any tips you could give!

Great job with the grow though, I'm sub'ed ;)

Hey Ky,
i just called it a blanket cause it reminded me of one but i'm using plastic fencing from HD it's cheap and works very well. you should be able to see the material in some of my earlier posts.

Also i don't have other grows. This is my first but thanks for the compliment.

Welcome,

there are two things i use for gnats....but...i grow in dirt....i water with azomax, and when thats done, i use n.p.strips....swear by them....keep them in every room, change them out, every 3-4 months....write the date on them with marker so i dont forget....also kills alot of other stuff.....i just hang it in the room, or lay it on the floor....L

Quite a maiden voyage you got going there my friend. Can't wait to see how it turns out. I'll be watching.

couldnt you have made cuts at the indicated black slashes to make 3 clones out of one?

isnt it better to divide the branch up to reduce the amount of clones you have to take off the mother?

Hey MBS... nice looking clones. I do prefer to take a few nodes myself since it increases the chance of a quick recovery and new veg growth. I have a couple that just have 2 leaves and have rooted, but no new veg growth yet. The others who have multiple nodes... grew roots faster, longer and new veg growth already forming after 1 week.

Keep it up bro... we have similar strategies

good to know. ive only seen clones taken with one growth site on the journals ive looked through. i assumed it was the best way to do it. ill have to experiment with multinode and single node clones and compare growth rates.

I would say a big YES to that. I like to take some for experiment as well as a "proper" cuttings which I took from another girl who showed more sativa.
it called to me if you will...

Right on Herbs,

I took single, double and triples just to test. I think you have to play within reason to learn. I'm all about experimenting. you get good surprises and not so good. but I'll know more for the future.

i'm taking a few cuttings 21days into flower as i read it affects braching causing plant to branch like gang busters but rooting may take up to 1month.
we shall see.

MBS i like the optimism through all the trail and errors and the great mentor's .looking forward to the bud porn .:nicethread: :peace: Man ..BC
Thank you BC. I see peeps getting discouraged as i have been in the past but as in life it's all trial and error. no one wakes up knowing it all, or do they?? that would be boring.

anyway, wait no longer pix to follow.

nice to have you on board.
