Ok question time.::::

Ok do you. Meaning anyone. When changing to flowering from veg stage. Change over when. I heard some do 35 days veg. Some 60 days what makes you decide to flip to flowering. What's they thing you look for or do.
I'm no pro, Dust. But I think size is the main issue when deciding how long to veg. How big do you want it to be? Or, how big can you let it be?

Well I noticed on my afgan girl she grew another 5 inches after I changed the time.. and nugs are forming but slow at it. I was just thinking if instead of 35 days veg dropping down to 25 if going to grow another 5 inches. I Never expected her to do that. . She 2 ft tall now. Another growth spurt she will be 3 ft before long. Needs stop growing and put some buds on.

I do have one ❓ between veg and flowering do you cut lights off 24 hrs or just switch time from 18 to 12 or 8. Mainly the switch if you dark them out for a day. I heard people doing that. But I always just 18 hrs down to 10hrs. Or so forth. Think what I got it on now 9-10 a day. From 18

If you have the height you can wait until the plant is mature. By that I mean the leaves will stop growing in pairs, one on each side of the stem and will start to spiral up the stem one at a time.

12/12 is good for flowering, why cut back light/growing hours ?

Cheers

Something I always done was 18 then 12 10 somewhere in there . Wondering what others do. Like dark out between switching hours or how they do Thiers.

Hey mate, the questions will come down to personal preference but lets see if I cant help out.

When to flip is really better asked as when should I stop veg and begin flower. I dont mean anyone asking has it wrong, but the answer is easier when asked the second way.

Each plant will be a bit different in terms of stretch, but most growers will consider height as the first factor. Stretching can be up to 2x veg height in flower, so it becomes easy math.

Tent height (say 6 foot) minus lighting and accessories will give you available room to flower. Then divide by 2 and you will be around max height to stop veg give or take. Obviously this does not include super cropping technique if you chose to go down that road.

Beyond that is kinda preference in terms of sexual maturity, root mass, and grow length.

For lighting Id stick to 12/12. Anything under that is probably going to slow the girls up, its certainly ok to go 10, but your season will almost certainly take longer than if you went 12.

Some growers like to stagger from a max of 24/0, or more usually 18/6 down to 12/12. Like week 1 - 18/6, Week 2, 16/8, week 3 - 14/10, week 4 12/12, but you can just go straight to 12/12.

Again its genetics but the first cycle that triggers flower will signal to them to begin hormones to begin flowering. For some its the drop to 14/15, others need to be under 13 to start. The 12/12 will get them into starting no matter the strain.

I could be wrong and maybe theres some science to a dark period from veg to flipping, or maybe for certain it throws them into flower but its not essential.

I hope this has all been a clear explanation, and helps you make your decisions.

Im sure others will add things, and so far all the advice above this is spot on.

I've always just made the switch from 18/6 to 12/12. No dark out in between.

Is it possible to get a plant confused if say you go from 18 to 12 or to 10 . Say if your light goes out and all of sudden plant goes back to veg . And how would I fix it. I'm thinking. Just my info to store in my brain . And anyone had that issue.

See that what I do. I go two stages. 18 light down to 12 then to 10. Always done that. Why idk. But u bring the question up in my head . Which I am seeing with my plant.now.
Since I out my plant in flowering it's grown over 5 inches. Already. I have the room in my tent for bigger plant but don't want it much bigger than 3 foot. Cause lights hang down . So how do you stop it. Right now I don't have much bud let so if need to do something needs be done now.. if possible anyway. I been learning niplate the plants over the years but not this type of nipalation .

And I like that stagger times. Need to do that on next girls. I don't like 24/0 tho for personal reasons of light and dark needs little time to rest . Least that's my thinking. Seems like stress 24/7 growing light no time for it to rest and help fight off desieases and who's knows what. Deffecient might accure. But thank you for info. I can use that info. Hope more people say more. . y'all the professional I'm just guy sitting in rocking chair watching plants grow.

Will plant grow faster in 24/0 light verses 18/6
Hello, 7 hope all is well in my personal opinion I prefer 24 hours of light for me my plants grow stronger and faster. But others may prefer 18. Your lady is looking very nice keep up the good work. Also, something to note longer veg time will always get you way more yield in the end as long as you have the grow space to do it. The less you veg the less yield you will get. Here are a few pictures of my ladies that are just now exactly 4 weeks into flower but vegged for 1 and a half months. Patience is key in the growing game. :)
