700W LED - Auto Topping Grow - 2 Plants

Hey Beast your Northern is awesome man.
Can I go ahead and start removing lower growth on mine? My stretch is done. They will be getting week 2 bloom nutes in a few days man. Buds starting to stack up already.
Now a good time or should I wait?

Fanleaf thanks mate.and if stretch is over strip all bottom growth mate.ul be glad u did;) goof job
Could you possibly explain the benifit to this please Beast? Is this to remove all the popcorn bud sites so the plants only concentrate on the top colas or is it something else?
Mine look like they are about finished with stretch also. They need to be too, almost run out of room in the cabinet

Five all questions welcome.and i remove all bottom.growth at this stage and any other growth i dont want and just leave what u want to grow.cause i lst there frame and there big.gets crowded with many colas. So removing the growth does indeed shift the energy to the top part of the plant and for me makes energy more spread across the plant.and i also do this for good airflow around my big buds to come.if 2 crouded with huge buds mold will occur easier.so there the reasons i do this.and works great for me mate;)

Thanks for the great explanation.
I'm guessing this doesn't stress them too much?

Five no worries mate. will not bother them 1 bit if there big healthy girls;) so ur all good:passitleft:
Good to know. I might do that to mine as there is a few little straggley looking branches down the bottom getting shit all light so probably best to remove them I guess.
Is it better to wait until after stretch has finished before doing this? Or it good to do in vege too?

Both mate i do it when i first see preflowers still veg stage then after stretch il inspect them again for anything trying to grow back down below;)

And no in veg my aim is create as many colas as i can mate.i defol leafs in veg but not growth. Only remove growth at preflower and after stretch then let flower happen;) hope this makes sense lol;)

How old is the plant mate is she flowering?;)

Force flowered from begin of july so approx 5 weeks in now. Flowers are small and tight as in a very small pot so will be rootbound.

Also gonna post some pics on my auto grow. Been plagued with budrot and not sure how long i can let it go for. Only small bits here and there but noticed a stem just before main cola on rrf has gone a bit mouldy. Now having to bring forward chop date to this sun or could poss lose a lot more. Any advice from people on my sig would be great. Pics be up by about 6pm.

if she flowering mate id leave her on the balcony.as for ur outdoor girls id say get them indoors if u can mate get rid of the rot.never grown outdoors so i cnt really comment further.sorry mate .i hopw u salvage a harvest off them best of luck;)

Cant get them indoors as they in the ground. Even if they weren't there no place for the plants inside. Am heavily considering chopping on sun. Another couple of weeks would be good as buds get bigger but i think the budrot loss will offset the weight gained or possibly even more. It a shame as most buds trich's are mostly cloudy and think some are clear but not noticeable and wanted the trich's to have some amber.

I'm about to start my next grow attempt and after seeing how amazing these things are, I've decided to do another lot of autos instead of the fems I was originally going to grow next.
I was hoping you could help me out with a couple of things though. Mainly, can I transplant autos and if so, when is it safe and when is it too late to do so?
I think the pots I used this time (7.5L) are too big as I've quickly run out of room and have moisture issues I never had before. I also found them hard to gauge when to water in the beginning as they took so long to dry out. So I'd like to start in smaller pots to make it easier to manage feedings and also only go to the 4.2L pots I have instead of the 7.5L. The last grow I finished in the 4.2L pots and had a nice root ball when I harvested, so they should be good enough I think. Might just stop them growing out so large

What would be your thoughts on that if you would be so kind?

Yeah with autos they grow to there surrounding Mr. A did one in a 300ml almost pop can sized type of pot 4-5 grams. For a plant that's about 15-20 grams each I've used 3L pots you could easily get 28 grams (a zip see beast i'm with it) off a 3L airpot or fabric pot. I've got some photo fems growing in 7L pots right now started flowering at 30cm off the pot now they are more than double that in 2 1/2 weeks 65cm tall. As for the bud rot well that's a risk ya take growing outdoors. I'm lucky were I live and it will never happen here. But up in the mountains I had it happen a few times on some skunk but I ended up harvesting because it was almost done anyways. Make sure you do a bud wash if you're gonna spray it with anything. I wouldn't recommend smoking anything really infected for obvious reasons, yet my friend here makes old school oil with anything that goes funky.

Thanks Spart, that's some good info. I did fems last time in 4.2L pots and got an ounce each from two of them and about 1.5 ounces from the third. But they looked like they could have been taller so I thought I'd try larger pots this time.

I really want to expand so I can have more space for the girls to grow, its too cramped where they are and I could get much better yeilds with more room. But can't find a nice rectangle sized tent lol. I need a good DIY friend to come and help me build a nice cabinet!!

And five autos like to go straight into there final pot mate for best yield.if u dont want them to big bur managable.id say use 11 litre pots.what i started growing with and still use them now from time to time.11 litre pot is a perfect size for a good sized auto.will easily pull 4 to 5 oz a plant in 11 litre pots.hope this helps.happy growing every1;)

Hey five. Will jump to your journal when i got time. Just my 2 cents of info here. 7.5L could be about right, perhaps 10L or 11L may be better for you (seems to be the general consensus when i was researching for auto grows).

Transplanting - well all mine were transplanted twice. 1st from seedling pots to 3" pots, then into the ground apart from 2 i have on my balcony which are 10L pots.

Mousture issues - best to err on the side of caution. Easier to sort an underwatered plant than to sort a drowned overwatered plant. Even with my 2 on the balcony it going a week or even longer between waterings but now flushing mine. If leaves droop and look limp then give water, if they look droopy, have curled edges and feel damp then you have given them too much water and will need time to dry out. Hope all goes well for you and even some experienced growers still have problems and are still learning.
