Its from home depot got it for $20. There used to catch water leaking from wash machines. Theres drain holes you can cut out also.

Its all about experiments mate. love em. Just sometimes the experiment goes wrong for me so this time just went back to soil which I know but still couldnt help myself and made it a super soil

Just sharing some pictures of the DWC. Getting great advice from Cultivator 
Things I add to my res:
BPN Grow/Bloom 5ml/gal
BPN Seaweed 5ml/gal
Liquinox b-1 1tble/gal
SNS 604A 30ml/gal
GH Bio Root 15ml/gal
Great White 1.25ml/gal
AN Rhino Skin 10ml/gal
Bleach 8 drop/gal
Things I add to my res:

I'm curious, Wiz, what is the purpose of the coco in the hydroton?

Depending on how you use it. Me I use coco instead of growing in soil which is a soiless medium. Much more airy and doesnt stay wet long. I use hydroton on top of the coco to keep the top from drying out and also it help roots to grow all threw the coco, even threw the top layer because it stays moist. Besides the fact hydroton will give you a good even water with out pushing around the top soil/coco.
As for the DWC bucket I mix coco and hydroton for same purpose more airy. I dont use all hydroton in hydro because I think IMO that the roots can get root rot easier. I had a bad experience my first time trying out hydro which was 4-5 months ago when I first start growing

I would think the coco in hydro would stay soaking wet like it looks in your photo.
My favorite with DWC is no medium at all.

It's not soaked its moist. I'm using air stones nothing else. Coco croutons is what I normally use but I ran out. Another reason why the coco is wet because I do a top feed with great white every week

Just ordered me some voodoo juice yesterday. So lets see if the hype is what ppl say. I was going to go with H&G Root Enhancer but the price is 
So Ill save up some money just for that in the future since my grows from here on out will be in hydro
Might I add BPN is number #1 right now. The plants in hydro stink alot more than the ones getting GH FloraNova in coco. The smell is so great you would think there flowering. It brings out the best in these plants
Also waiting on the buds to dry in the drying house I have set up just for that purpose. Monday Is when Ill go check them to make sure there all the way dry and to see if the stem snaps. Cant wait until I try that bud. They also got even more crystally

Thanks....I say go for it. Coco is my favorite of all mediums to grow in. I wont turn my back to it
As for 2 liter, are you just doing a small grow/plant or this will be a test run? I would go 5 gallons if you can. Coco bricks are cheap and they blow up when you soak them in water so I think one brick can go into 3 gallon pots. Maybe more not really sure. Get some organic bone meal also. Mix it with the coco and you wont have no problems. Just water and add additives every once in a while.
