You know what I think would definitely work? Injecting the plant with flavenoids (for example blueberry, lemon, cherry, vanilla) to enhance taste after harvest. Roots do a pretty good job of filtering things like that out, so it's difficult to enhance flavor via the root system. However, I've read of people chopping plants just above the medium, then placing the stem in flavored water for a week or so (think x-mas tree). In one example, they used vanilla, and the buds not only tasted vanilla-like, they even were tinted a light brown (think carnations). What made this possible, was bypassing the roots - something your injections do also.

I'm not sure I see the practical value of shooting up your plant to feed it (perhaps I'm overlooking something)... However, I'd be very interested in seeing somebody enhance bud-flavor or color subtly using a similar method. Though most good cannabis tastes about perfect to me just the way it is!

No matter what, I can't help but give kudos for trying something different and outside the box.

couldnt agree more...so i got to thinking...the one think we could inject our plant with during harvest that WOULD make it better....canna oil =D double strength hit anyone?

LMAO! HAHAHAH! Hey guys im still around. Im in the process of moving everything. But things are great. Theyve been in flower for about 4 to a week now and ill upload pictures soon. Since flowering its grown massive and gotten bushy all over again im still LSTing it as it grows alot over night. Im feeding it GH Liquid kool bloom and finishing with kool bloom dry so im expecting great results.

As for the injecting flavors X, thats something good to do add. I have this orange spice flavor I want to try out and my other plant I will turn the buds purple with blueberry flavor by using organic blueberries. Hope all will go good at the end as I want my plants to produce alot of good stuff. Sorry for staying away so much, I try to sneak on as much as I can. My girl still isnt laying off since we both started are second jobs. No time for means no time for my plants in her eyes. lol So Ill sneak a porn shot here and there for you guys. Im cheating on her with Mary Jane. Atleast thats what she makes me feel like

I read in a few places that you should use extract to flavor your stuff. Not sure if any of it actaully works .... but that's what I read anyway.

Hey guys, biology guy chiming in on the subject. This could all be harmless and would add amazing flavor to the buds. BUT, a lot of safe-to-injest substances could be very toxic if vaporized. I know for a fact vanilla is one of them, it will do some damage guys so please be careful. By all means, do your research on your choice of "flavor injection", and if it's safe to inhale, then go for it . There's nothing I love more than experimenting, but let's keep safety as our priority. We're growing these meds to stay away from the "unnatural" pharmaceuticals our lovely system offers, so let's try and keep MJ natural . Just my 2cents

hi all, been a while,

i have read up on this before, i read about flavors, and food coloring, and it does work but it leaves the bud tasting like shite,
its really not worth doing, ive not tried it but read all over the place that food coloring and flavoring is not to be heated to an extent where it burns, so any additives like that will give it a nasty harsh taste, but it will leave your bud a nice color though,

the method is to harvest the plant and place the stems or branches directly into color or flavor thats watered down, it then draws it into the plant, im sure you all done it at school with plants and watched the leaves go a stripey color, well it works the same as that, but it wont leave the bud smokable, looking good but not smokable,

the only other option to add smell or taste would be to add something like orange peel or lemon peel into the curing jars, if you let the buds dry out and then put fresh peel in the jar this should then spread to the buds giving you a nice smell and possibly taste

What is wrong with the taste of the actual bud again??
I agree with don that introducing flavors during cure might be a safer way to "enhance" the flavors already present.
Instead of trying to create a new flavor internally.
Seems counter productive to me, but maybe I'm missing something?

I have to admit that I've gotten lots of great looking bud at collectives that had excellent "bag appeal" and color. Only to get home and smoke it and realize that it was harsh as shit. The grower either fed it nutes up until the last day before harvest .... and didn't flush it at all. Or, probably died it to get it to the color it ended up being. Or both. This stuff .... although potent and strong (which is why I kept it and smoked it anyway) it's so harsh you can't smoke it out of a bong or it burns your throat.

Now, on the other hand. I have a buddy who has some TGA Subcool "Jillybean" .... that he grows. This stuff right out of the jar smells exactly like Sunny Delight. It has also been in a 4-6 month cure (which most of your collective weed HAS NOT been cured) and it is fantastic to smoke. If you get yourself a 5 or 10 pack of "Jillybean", you are more than likely to get at least one plant that has the orange pheno. The other very desireable pheno is the skittles pheno ... also really fruity. This stuff tastes like it's been flavored. But, is all natural.


I always loved the smell and taste of the bag weed we smoked back in highschool. It was actaully pretty good stuff. All we ever called it was Red Haired Sensi. Nothing had a name back then .... LOL. Not like now. It smelled like pot .... it tasted like pot. And, it was all always the same ..... LOL. (or not ... but then it was easy to identify as ditch weed or schwagg).

Hey guys, I got to sneak away from the girlfriend heheheheheh!!! OK So heres an update on the babies. They are in there end of 1st week of flower. Looking good and they have put on some weight.

Oh and thanks to Cultivator he helped me with the bubble cloning, im using a 25L air pump and it pushes out major air threw the air stones. Im using 3 of them in my cloning res. Didnt take pictures but I will next week. Roots are awesome and growing threw out the day.

PLANT 1, Im starting to think I have a GDP or somthing close to it on my hands because Ive been looking at everyone elses leaves on there purple strains and they look so similar. Broad leaves and all. Im sure she alone should give me close to half a pound, fingers crossed.

And heres the second baby. She has grown so beautiful shes been good to me. Ive cloned like 6-8 of her. I would like to keep her around for a while. We need more time together
