420's Bettybud - The Widow - Indoor Grow - 2014

Today I have a very embarassing confession to make, so embarassing that I thought about not even mentioning it here.. but this is my grow journal and i would like to make it as accurate as possible. so here goes..

I had read that it's good to clean bulbs monthly so whilst the girls were out for their daily loving I switched the light off and took it out for a clean, as i did this i noticed a small amount of blue plastic coming away from the reflector.. THE BLUE PROTECTIVE PLASTIC THAT IS SUPPOSED TO COME OFF PRIOR TO FITTING!!! D'oh!!

OMG so many lessons learnt! how i've actually reached flower I have no idea!

Oh and my sick plant got a good feeding today, I will probably give her extra feed now and see how she responds..

:bigblush:

Haha true! although a small piece of the plastic is now stuck to the reflector still.. I hope it hasn't affected my grow too much.

Took the ladies out again today, my Purple Arrow is budding very nicely :) my poorly plant is still very heavy from yesterdays feed, like she just doesn't want to drink :hmmm: the other 2 widows are still looking great!

Now 4-6 weeks from harvest so i'm very excited! my humidity today was 60% not sure if this is good for the latter stage of flower..

Midway through week 5 of flower, lots of pics to upload today!

My Purple Arrow is now my best looking plant, it has the bigger buds and the nicest smell!

My weak White Widow. Pistols are now starting to turn brown on all of the White Widows but this one the most.

Just taken some pretty drastic measures on the sick plant, if it was the right thing to do or not i have no idea but I felt i had to do something.. So all of the larger fan leaves have been taken off, they were all crispy so i figured they wern't doing much anyway, hopefully the light penetrating further down the plant will help with growth downstairs at least and maybe air flow.. nothing to lose i guess as the buds are tiny on this plant and they're all starting to turn brown much faster than the other widows.

I hope i havent killed it but atleast i have 3 more plants doing very well :blunt:

You should see my face now! :cheesygrinsmiley: i'm sure each day i spend more time with my buds, will be interesting to see what happens over the next two weeks. Lots of pistols on the WW are turning brown, 3 months ago I would have probably thought this was nearly finished! but now looking at the trichs they are all still clear.

Ok so i've been back on the website where i got these seeds, apparently the White Widow is a 7 week flowering strain meaning i should be harvesting on Friday! Heres a link to exactly what I have:

The Widow | This Hardcore White Widow Takes No Prisoners

If this is the case I will have to harvest a week from today next sunday as I will be busy the Fri/sat, i've been looking at the trichs today and find it hard to see cloudy ones as they're so small even using my jewelers loupe it's difficult, and then my hands keep moving to make it even harder! lol

not sure how long the purple arrow has left, i think it will be chopped shortly after the WW though.

Yea i'm gonna keep a close eye on them now, I would rather harvest late than early as i prefer a heavy couch lock stone over a head high, I usually only smoke before bed..

i also plan to keep them in 24 hours darkness as i've read that's also good for resin production. I should probably look into flushing soon..

i'm off to Rotterdam tomorrow, cannot wait! will be trying some new strains for sure! :tokin:

Almost at the end of week 7 flower, those that are still following will probably be able to tell which plant is which, sorry for the poor quality pics, still unpacking from my trip and yet to pack for a 48 hour fishing trip 2moro.. Got some great strains in Rotterdam, SantaMaria, Diesel, Haze special, Northern Lights and some super polm! oh and a small box of shrooms! :laughtwo:

At the minute i plan to flush Sunday when i get back, then let the plants dry out and then a dark period, shall do some reading whilst i'm away fishing just to make sure i'm doing things right.

Sorry for the late update but i started a new job last week. Chopped the girls yesterday and in total i have 390g wet bud and lots of sugar trim for cooking, heres how they looked before the chop:

will be uploading some more pictures soon, maybe get some clearer pics of the bud and my drying setup, will also post some pics of my reflector as i think this has had a massive impact on my small yield.

All in all looks like i'm getting a little over 3 ounces dry in total, can't complain as it's my 1st attempt and i've learnt so much! will be better prepped for the next grow.

Here's the pics of my reflector, the blue bit in the middle is where i stupidly left the protective film on and obviously it burnt and stuck, i didn't even notice this until i switched to flower! also i did not bend the hood out so all of the light was basically aimed at the centre of the grow tent so many of my buds probably didn't recieve enough light. My grow tent came with no instructions if that's any excuse.. :laughtwo:

Would be good to hear from someone with a little indoor experience, maybe could confirm this, i don't think there was anything else that i really messed up
