420 Magazine's Photo of the Month Contest: June 2018

Jags. Its flash and no flash. That's why they look different. I take pics with and without them see what I like best. Crazy how the lighting makes all the difference....

Had to go suss out your journal after seeing that bud. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but are they not the same picture in the same spot under the same light but somehow different colour...? Can see why there would be doubt...
Yes they are the quote put it up ?
like that the other pictures up further:passitleft:

Thanks Mr Dabber:passitleft: im sure thats what it is I took so many freaking pictures Cause my hands shake I near gave up each time I zoomed in id get a flippin fuzzy picture
I will certainly try for better next time :Namaste:

Looks like it's just from auto white balance. I've started locking mine so I can get a better comparison, two different spectrums in one space with White Walls really messes with it.
I am going to have to check the settings out on this phone its a sony so the Camera should be alright
I use either the full fill flash or keep it lit with a torch setting Thanks Turbo :ganjamon:

I hope this can help I feel really fed up that I even put the darnn picture up
My Mrs said I was silly not to any how give me a sec to send them over its a differnt bud taken in the same place a bit differnt but still very vibrant color I a very sorry any one that thinks it had a filter it didnt
And to cap it all this plant was so very easy to grow
I really dont want folks thinking im doing editing or some strange things with filters I dont have the time and I dont even understand how to do that Any how

As an amateur I recognized the situation immediately and regret not mentioning it right away.

It’s the same bud taken with the same camera and same settings, in two different spots that are lit with different light sources.

The camera could be set to “cloudy” or “fluorescent” light. Taking a photo of a bud in sunshine will look different under indoor light if the settings aren’t changed.

I personally don’t think it’s a filter. Just the camera setting.

You are welcome. Nice looking bud, well done.

I think it should make for an interesting topic to add to the Fotographer Collective thread we have going on. “White balance and the different light source results.

All makes sense now. Wish it was mentioned earlier. I didn't mean any disrespect, but this is the internet after all.. I just grew 50 pounds from one plant and it was rainbow coloured lol (kidding)
Just 50 lbs? You musta got a bad seed. Let me sell you one of my seeds thats guaranteed to produce 300 lbs in a 1 gallon pot! LOL

Actually, no you can't do whatever you want.. there are rules and guidelines which are stated in the first post:

6. Editing Photos: Please do not add text, images, or special effects, otherwise your submission will be disqualified. This makes it a fair contest for all, as not everyone can afford photo editing programs and/or know how to use them. Color correction and cropping are acceptable parts of creating a digital photograph, however we do not allow obvious image enhancement or manipulation.

I believe this is probably why the picture was queried to begin with. Apologies again @Jaga

Ah I stand corrected. Thats a bit poop though. The art of photography isnt just taking a picture. I wouldnt be able to take a decent pic in my 4x4 with the 600hps cos it causes light striping in the pictures unless I find the exact right angle which sometimes is impossible and does not make for a good picture (only ones that dont show striping are like shots from down low or when the lights being blocked out by something). Only thing that could change the striping is adding a filter or changing the white balance etc.
But yer thanks for correcting me @Tunkers
