420 Magazine's Official Girl Scout Cookies Comparative Grow By Brett Blaze

Brett Blaze, That’s about 7 weeks flower, right? I’m seeing signs of 7 and 8 week flower ripening. I want this grow to be my after work get an appetite and unwwind/commune with nature go to. I want very little amber to avoid droopy eyelids movie or music time. I better start scoping, this could mean cop at 7 or 8 weeks flower. Early flower is a great attribute. Plants look great. Cheers

Hey cr8

Right now I am at 6 weeks and 5 days. It would end up being 8 weeks and a day or two for harvest. #2 is further along with more cloudy and amber than #1. Harvesting #1 early (same time as #2) would provide a strong sativa high. Timing will be interesting.

That's what I want: a strong sativa high. I'll keep an eye on your grow, @cr8grow to see when you harvest if that's what you're going for.

Just keep monitoring your trichomes. When they get all cloudy it will be at it's peak for a strong high. #1 still has a few clear ones and all the pistils are still white so too early. #2 is at the point it would be ready for what your looking for.

In my trichome pics the top 3 are #2 and the bottom 2 are #1. I should have labeled them.

Update:

Stage - Flower Day 50 - 101 days above ground
#1 Bloom Day 33
#2 Bloom Day 38
Days until Harvest - 7 to 10

The ladies just finished up week 7 and are looking great. It's getting tougher to keep runoff ppm down and I find myself doing at least a partial flush daily. I'm not too worried about reducing the nutrients at this stage since the plants can start pulling from the remaining fan leaves during the final week as it would do naturally towards the last stages of it's life.

The combination of the genetics from @Weed Seeds Express GSC seeds with the @Prescription Blend nutrients and Demon LED light from @Elevated Lighting Company turned out to be a perfect combination for this coco grow. All are highly recommended.

A quick check on the trichomes showed very little change since Wednesday. #1 is just now showing pistil color change. It's still a week or maybe a little longer until harvest. I'm getting more confident that the two will be at the right stage of ripeness for my purposes even though they will be harvested while at different stages. I will be using the tent or maybe the lung room for drying so both will be harvested together.

#1 appears to me as a more sativa dominant and is quite obviously different in appearance than #2. The aroma for #1 is a gentle sweetness with slight floral or fruit smells while #2 has a more fuel sweet smell. Best I can describe as it's sweet but with a kick. If my harvest plan works I should have a energetic sativa high from #1 and a more couch locking high from #2. Since I medicate for pain and sleep, getting a couch locking high from #2 works great for me.

After reading a horror post about bud rot from one of the other comparison growers, I decided to do a thorough check on all the buds. After coating myself up to my elbows in heavenly stickiness I didn't find any evidence of rot. While the buds continue to swell and the aroma is increasing, I have to remember to close the door before I open the tent. I thought I could smell it in my bedroom last night but then remembered I was covered in resin from the rot inspection earlier. Still as I write this from another room I can faintly smell some of the aroma from when I watered this morning.

Your two different looking plants are like how mine looked too - I had 3 of the six look like your taller lighter color plant and 3 like your shorter darker plant. I thought the lighter ones were stressed and harvested at 8.5 weeks post flip. Still watching the other 3 and seeing some amber trichomes yesterday at day 60 post flip but not enough yet.

The darker one (#1) took 5 days longer to bloom after flipping and as mentioned the pistils are just now changing color. I really hope I can harvest both together, knowing #1 will be less amber, so I can take advantage of the tent for drying.

Your photography is absolutely on fleek.

How do you get such beautiful glitter pics?

How do you get such beautiful glitter pics?
Hi Trala. Thanks for stopping by.

To get really sharp detailed closeups I use good camera equipment and lenses, a stable tripod and a lot of patience. I turn off all fans so there is no movement of any kind. My tripod has a fine turning adjustment that allows me to get near perfect focus. I use the shutter timer to delay 5 seconds to avoid any movement from touching. Then I spend several minutes for each picture processing for the best visual image. Oh, being a professional photographer and 40 years of experience helps too. :cheesygrinsmiley:
