That first chart was crap, here's one you can zoom in on lol

Nevermind, won't upload it to it's original size...anyways, Jorge cervantes has some awesome deficiency charts you can find. Google em, helpful.

Re: 3 Strains, 6 Plants - COBS & Coco In 5 Gal Hempy Buckets - Let's Watch This Disas

Potassium may be a slight culprit but honestly dude, if you have a trio like from general hydroponics, fox farms, etc then you should be fine but like Asesino85 said, get it in a medium like coco and start slowly ramping up feeding to see how it'll respond. You should be fine. Here's some easily googled deficiency charts/posters. Helpful when you can seem to figure out a cause of a deficiency that isn't so obvious or is a mixture of things. And you'll see these posted throughout forums like this.

I don't think its a potassium problem but I was asking because they likely aren't getting the proper Nitrogen. The nitrogen from cal/mag isn't enough and it is probably a combination of both. There has to be a grow nutrient base in there somewhere, and I just am not finding it with just cal/mag and florabloom.

Re: 3 Strains, 6 Plants - COBS & Coco In 5 Gal Hempy Buckets - Let's Watch This Disas

Yeah, that's why I chose to not go with coco...i know I've seen some great grow results with people I see use it and you can fine tune easily, but I just like soil lol but you're right about the nitrogen, I've been using fox farms line up and haven't really had any issues with nitrogen deficiencies but then again I went the soil route. Can't wait to see these plants grow up though!

Re: 3 Strains, 6 Plants - COBS & Coco In 5 Gal Hempy Buckets - Let's Watch This Disas

I don't know the Advanced nutrients line but it seems to me like you are missing nutrients for the veg stage. Cal/mag is a supplement that is necessary for coco grows but I don't see any Potassium in the lineup you suggested. For instance I have a 3 part base nutrient system thats has one that is 5-0-1, one that is 0-5-4 and one that is 2-1-6. You can get away without using the 3rd due to the first two having all 3 major nutrients in them but just 4-0-0 and 0-5-0 doesn't give the plant any potassium. Like I said I am not familiar with their nutrients but seems like something is missing.

Ase.... I made a typo in that information about the FloraBloom. It is 0-5-4, not 0-5-0. The RapidStart Rooting Enhancer is 1-0.5-1, so those two do have some K in them. The next post will have an update after reading and transplanting last night and this morning. Trying to catch up now.

Those charts were very helpful. Googled Jorge and downloaded a clearer version of the first one. Much thanks!

Perhaps Wednesday I'll run up to the hydro store and grab some FloraGow, but let me get to this next update... big things (in my little grow area at least) happened in the past 24 hours...

Re: 3 Strains, 6 Plants - COBS & Coco In 5 Gal Hempy Buckets - Let's Watch This Disas

So, time for an update - this may take a while so take a few hits of your favorite stain and strap in....

As I was saying, this was the weekend to transplant, and it just so happened to be perfect timing. Yesterday I went and got some more Reversed osmosis water. It was at 10ppm before I started mixing up the concoction. So 5 gallons of it got 10ml of Sensi CalMag Xtra (4-0-0) and 10ml of FloraBloom (0-5-4) and added in some RapidStart Rooting Enhancer (1-0.5-1). pH'ed the concoction to 5.55 and the PPM ended up at 360.

I was then going to start soaking my CocoTek brick in this solution, but realized I had dinner and an evening planned- Phu$k!... now I have to wait until the morning!

This morning I got all psyched to mix my coco and found this.

WHOOP whoop! Just the other day I was asking about roots showing, and wah-la... like magic, there they are.

I should ask for some bud now, lol....

Anyway, long enough post, so I'm going to hit one and be back to tell y'all how the transplant went!

Re: 3 Strains, 6 Plants - COBS & Coco In 5 Gal Hempy Buckets - Let's Watch This Disas

Yeah that makes way more sense now. So we basically use similar nutrient lines. I have a write up in my journal on nutrients and my schedule with General Hydroponics that you might benefit from taking a look at since we do use the same lines. I think it's about halfway back in the journal. Anyways I'd recommend grabbing some FloraMicro at the very least. I do use the FloraGrow but it's not necessary.

Time for the transplant process.

With my water perfect (at least I hope, lol...) I went ahead and soaked the CocoTek in 5 gallons in a 30 gallon tote.

I have holes drilled in the buckets approximately 2" up from the inside of the bottom, using a 7/16" drill bit. I filled the bottom 1/4 of the bucket with #2 coarse perlite, then started adding my coco. When I got to about 4 inches from the top, I put in the rockwool cube, then covered up the rockwool with more coco, and added about an inch of perlite on top of it.

This is the result of each plant.

On a side note, here are the two Lemon Candy babies, this morning...

So, we are going to call today the first day of vegetation for the first 5 girls, and the first day of seedling for the Lemon Candy sisters.

AFTER the transplant was over, I went ahead and made up 5 more gallons of water, for this stage. 15ml Calmag Xtra, 25ml of FloraBloom, and 10ml of RapidStart Rooting Enhancer, mixed into RO water, that started at 17ppm and ended up at 457ppm and a final pH of 5.56. This is what I will use to water the vegetative plants.

Hopefully you all enjoy the pictures and the story so far!
And thank you for all the help so far, this is some fun shit!

Re: 3 Strains, 6 Plants - COBS & Coco In 5 Gal Hempy Buckets - Let's Watch This Disas

Update time!!!

Day 3 of Seedling for the Lemon Candy replacement when the Chemdog Millionaire #2 didn't pop.

On day 2 (Tuesday) I came home to see my Lemon Candy #1 had a heart attack or something - she looked like this...
20171206_202148.jpg

I tried propping her up with a toothpick for the last 24 hours, but alas - had to lay her to rest today - she didn't make it.

So yesterday, getting a bit worried about Lemon Candy #2, I decided to at least pick her up out of her Jiffy Pod and take a looksie. She was standing tall, leaves just flapping in the breeze of the fan, but had to check anyway. I saw this...
20171206_202020.jpg

BOOM, taproot popping out her bottom door. Here's a close-up of it.
20171206_201931.jpg

All hairy and thick. Even though I don't like my girls hairy or thick, these girls are the exception.

So anyway, I went ahead, gave her a bigger rockwool cube and put her in a nice solo cup and fed her like I've been.

This is her today, day 3 of sprout.

Next post, we will see how the other 5 are doing.

Toke time... see ya in 5.

Re: 3 Strains, 6 Plants - COBS & Coco In 5 Gal Hempy Buckets - Let's Watch This Disas

Ok, now its time for the original 5.

Lets catch up on some things first. Since their transplant into their final 4.5 true gallon buckets, they've been fed every morning, 6 hours before lights out, at 450ppm, 5.5-5.6 pH'ed water. Each one has been receiving approximately one half liter of this solution.

On Monday, I got my 8" L'il Blizzard fan in and it has been on and then off in 30 minute increments. So, it's on for a half hour, off for a half hour. I've also been keeping a washcloth soaking in a small Tupperware container in the middle off the room and my humidity is coming up and staying in the mid - high 60's. The temps have been anywhere between 70° - 74° consistently.

The light's are at 13 inches above the top of the plants and they are dimmed so each one is receiving roughly 30,000 lux. Again, I have yet to get a PAR meter as I need to start getting Flowering Lights (maybe next post we will talk about them....) on a side note, the Lemon Candy #2 sprout is receiving about 13,000 lux way down there.

So enough blibber blabber, let's look at the girls, shall we?

Looking good Cedru! Just stay the course. The really light green in the middle is just new growth and yes they look like they are starting to noticeably grow. Nice job.

Re: 3 Strains, 6 Plants - COBS & Coco In 5 Gal Hempy Buckets - Let's Watch This Disas

Just a quick question, open for some discussing here...

When growing multiple plants in an area, and one particular spot for the oscillating fan, does anyone play musical chairs with their plants - rotating their spots more or less is what I'm trying to ask.

For example....

Day 1:
Plant A. Plant B. Plant C

Plant D. Plant E. Plant F

Day 2:
Plant F. Plant A. Plant B

Plant C. Plant D. Plant E.

Etc...

Great looking plant, very jealous of your space and the variety. Well done.

As you know I'm also a new grower but I rotate my plants lol... I'll be interested to see the consensus.

:Namaste:

Re: 3 Strains, 6 Plants - COBS & Coco In 5 Gal Hempy Buckets - Let's Watch This Disas

No photos just yet, but wanted to make a note that I upped the nutes last night from around 400ppm to 625ppm.

The three bushiest girls, B.A.K. #1, B.A.K. #2, and B
C. #1 got a feeding of it this morning, while the other two plus the L.C. #2 got the 400ppm feeding.

Also shuffled around the girls so they get different fan speeds and lighting, even though the canopy above then is now between 36,000 and 40,000 lux. Since the sprout is in a smaller container, she is only about 22,000 lux.

Re: 3 Strains, 6 Plants - COBS & Coco In 5 Gal Hempy Buckets - Let's Watch This Disas

Picture time! Just some quick notes first - shuffled the front line girls to the back and the back up to the front. Will probably do this once a day from now until I don't have the room to do it anymore.

Their feedings have increased both in food and quantity. The PPM going in is ~650. Getting run-off now, but forgot to measure it - duh...
The amount they are taking in their buckets has increased from ~.5 liters to nearly a full liter now. The sprout is still at 425 ppm, and only as much as her solo cup can take, which isn't much as she starts to run off.

I was thinking about putting her into her final pot today, but ill let you guys talk me into it after you see her....

So, time to up pot L.C. #2, or let her grow some more? I do not see any roots near the bottom or poking out yet, whereas with the other girls they had some roots poking out of their rockwool cubes.

Also, while in asking for some advice, are Amy of them close to being fimm'ed yet? I'd like to start some LST training in them this or next week, but would rather FIM them first to get some more side growth.

Thoughts, opinions, criticisms?

WOW your title describes my grow perfectly. Im new though so 5 of my plants decided that I stressed them too much and grew tons of balls. 1 survived though and I started another. Im going back to the beginning to catch up, looking forward to following along!

Hey Dom, nice to have you along! I guess everyone goes through the learning curve but sooner or later they get dialed in and what works for them and each plant.

How long ago did you start your latest grow?
