2Water's 1st Grow

:Namaste: do you mind if I ask what is in the pots?:Namaste:
It looks like coco with bark in it?
Sorry for the repeat question.
I'm sure you said already.
Thanks.

Not a problem at all. So the base soil mix was 1.5cu ft of roots organic original, home depot coco coir 8 gallons worth, 2 gallons or perlite, and half a bag of lowes potting soil that I had lying around and wanted to get rid of, lol. I mixed in half a bag of worm castings, and separated a quarter of the mix to keep "plain." I added 2 cups of Down To Earth 333, 1.5 cups Acid Mix, and 1.5 cups of Rose & Flower mix to the other 3/4 and let cook for over a month. Only other thing is the diluted coconut water. Hope that helps!

Your base is coco coir.
One month isn't enough time for nutrients to cook.
I'd feed her a weak nutrient until the roots start picking up something available. :Namaste:
They aren't getting nutrients and are just hungry.

Thanks Bill, any suggestion on what to give? Should I be focusing on Nitrgen? I know the coconut water has a decent amount of potassium and other goodies.

For next time, how long should I cook for? I was going by checking temp (admittedly by feel) of the soil, and once it cooled off and was maintaining a healthy microbe colony (my wife got grossed out by the white mold, lol) I figured it was cooked?

Also, if if matters, since I want to learn from next time, do I actually need to build 2 layers, or cook sufficiently and run it altogether? Would I be ok in coco perlite (trying to figure if I should just add more of that to replenish soil, or more roots organic original?)

I have probably about 15 gallons worth of soil left, was going to fill in the pot more this weekend since they've grown a little more.

Ahhh, there's the likely correct answer. Thanks, Bill!:thanks:

I thought it looked hungry but that's surprising for such a small plant in Supersoil. But, if the microbes haven't released enough nutrients yet, they could be there but still unavailable to the plant.

Alright, so before the night is through, 1 last update. They were hungry/slash thirsty, pots were dry. I watered each plant about 1 liter of water mixed with 15ml coconut water and 2 tablespoons of raw honey. Literally by the time I got spraying (using a pump sprayer) I could see the color coming back. Freaking amazing! Do I sound like a proud papa? Mama even gave them a pep talk (totally serious)! Plan now will be to water every other day 1 liter per plant. Since it's mostly coco based it should help maintain being moist but not dry. Thanks again @Azimuth and @Ben284! Oh, and I finally topped off the pots!

Hey guys, been trying to follow VPD charts, but since yesterday, the girls have been appearing to like lower humidity. I am currently running 55-60%rh. When I try to go higher, thier color changes. They are only 2 weeks from being planted in dirt, 1.5 weeks from sprouting. From what I've read, their root system shouldn't be developed enough, am I missing something? I've read some place that MAC prefers drier conditions, but other places I hear the opposite? Either way, I'll just keep listening to the girls, lol. Also gave them names (not really feminine names, but just so I dont keep calling them numbers).
#1 is Riker (where's my trekkies at?)
#2 is Twista (1 of her 3 finger leaves developed a little twisted.
#3 is Droopy (the runt, always a little dropped over, but has the best overall structure).
I'll post pics on Wednesday. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

I couldn't resist some pics. Yellowing on edges been coming and going, I am pushing DLI, I noticed if RH is below 60% they appear to drink up more. Just watered an hour ago, and the color is coming back after stabilizinf. I had held off getting a dehumidifier, didn't think I needed one yet, but looks like I might need one? ***I think I have the white balance on my camera figured out***

Also raised the light, trying to get more stretch, lol

Good morning. :ciao:
Girls are coming along nicely.
60 rh is perfect.
You don't need a dehumidifier until flower.
And only if rh is above 60.
You have a couple months to monitor it before you decide.
Hope your having a great day.
Take care.

Thanks Bill, just was getting thrown off by suggested rh for seedlings. Guess the plants know best!

Week 3 from sprouting. Crazy week, I tried to push the light too much, Twista and Droopy got pushed too hard (and then I decided it would be good to counter that with more water...), so they had a rough week of my abuse. Lesson learned, go by weakest link and set tent to them. They are recovering and I have everything dialed in. Just looking very ugly, and Twista is even more twisted.... should I be worried or just let her grow?

Also, started mainline training on #1 Riker. The other girls appear to be 5ish day behind, so I my plan is to do a traditional mainline on Riker, and then do a nebula manifold on the other 2. Hopefully that will bring them closer together in the end. Of course, this all depends if I stop torturing them, lol!

#1 - Riker, she was growing along beautifully, a little sad to cut her up, but she looks good now too!

#2 - Twista, all twisted, but perking up and uncurling a little

#3 - Droopy, not so droopy at the moment, hoping for some stretch, but proud of how resilient she is seeming to be

Hello friends, so 4th week update. Riker is coming along like a champ, probably will be giving her second top this weekend. Droopy and Twista are really falling behind, and I'm debating on keeping them. I think my efforts would be better focused on Riker. I'll make my decision this weekend, but no shots of them today. So just Riker for now...

So I will keep all 3, might as well, right? Riker will be getting her final top soon for an 8 top mainline. Droopy, i topped her too early, just going to grow her out for now. Twista, I will be pruning and lst'ing her tonight, hope I can top for 8 tops come Wednesday. Brought the humidifier back in, raising temp to 84F high and 72F low, and 62%rh. Currently getting 430ish ppfd for each plant. Once I have finished topping, I will shoot to get ppfd around 600 for 2 weeks before flipping to flower.
